Shift will be coming on Monday
Okay......
um... the HTC shift?
You mean the GSM device that was release back in November?
Yes CDMA HTC shift
Highly unimpressive device.
Poor battery, slow single core cpu, only 1Gb of non expandable memory, only 40Gb hdd, low res screen and insane price.
For the price of the Shift you can get a Q1U premium and an EVDO Rev.A miniPCI card for inside it.
Shift was cool a year ago when it was announced, now it's just old tech.
Why do you insist on spamming the Titan forums with information about the HTC Shift? How does this pertain AT ALL to the HTC Titan?

It's off topic, not spam. Spam would mean he somehow profits from us buying Shifts from Sprint.
To me it's partially on-topic because there are so few HTC made CDMA devices as it is, so this is kind of interesting to us.
Things like this seem to be quite common on here. You ask a legitimate question about something, and get no responses. But someone posts something unrelated in here, and gets attention.
I think for the price I paid for the Mogul, it's a great device. Does everything I want it to do, and then some. I have some issues, yes like everyone does when modding something like this. But like I've said before. It's a phone with a bunch of advantages.
This is a mogul forum. Not on anything else.
Feels more like a PDA first and a phone second. Very richly featured PDA. The phone quality is well, eh!
All in all...i love my mogul.... unless i need to make an important phone call.

Ok, but you don't understand my point do you?
How often do you guys go to other PDA Phone forums? Not often, right? Other people that may want to know about this can't because they don't have a Titan so they don't come here. Post it in an area that's more general and that more people would see it. Come on now guys this is all common sense!
i visit this forum for at least 1 hr. each day. this is the first time i've heard of a cdma hard disk htc device! thanks op!
Hard Disk Included
So what happens after you drop your phone?
My Blue Angel had dents in at least four corners and it still keep going. Eventually the radio started getting weird, so I upgraded to a Titan.

That's not the way to handle things like this. If you want to be immature and make an ass of yourself, by all means go ahead. Just don't go trying to rile up the community and making us all look like idiots.

I'm pretty sure HTC knows how we feel and doesn't give a ****.
What we need is for the WORLD to know how WE feel and then put a skeptical eye on HTC to see what they do...that's the only way HTC will do the right thing. They already knew how we would feel, they certainly know how we do feel...and I doubt they care.
But if we take this to the biggest stages we can find and get a wider audience to hear what is going on then HTC has to respond on to the wider audience....which they will care about. They have already demonstrated they don't care about our tiny little corner of the internet.
1.) I e-mailed Android Central to follow this. I expected they would already, but I guess they are scared to death of losing out on any industry freebies and hookups they may have. Others should follow suit and get them to follow this
2.) Everybody submit this to Slashdot.org as well. a Huge readership over there that would care about our plight. Don't just submit the 'why' we are upset but links to tweets, message boards and htc's facebook to show the how upset we are and how many of us there are.
3.) Any other media outlet that may care. Try to keep from getting too 'nerdy', don't get into crypto-signed bootloader talk....just say "encrypted the phone so we can't install whatever software we want"
4.) Bomb Google searches, make a trend. Same for twitter.
5.) Be tasteful and grownup. Don't hurl insults, don't just bomb someones email, don't DDOS. Just spread our plight to a larger audience and then HTC has to answer to EVERYONE (not just us) with their actions....as opposed to what they will answer just us with--inaction.
Off to Facebook.....

Okay I am speaking mainly to Developers/Devs here
To get all the information on this issue please visit my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421341
I know this may not be in the right place to post, but I have had no luck after over two months of my thread being replied to and also being all over the internet (Droidlife, GSMARENA, phandroid etc...) so I'm trying to spread the word to ftully Fix/Solve the SMS/texting issue (Not being able to send texts) so the HTC Rezound can be a fully global phone
The suggested possible causes of the issue are either a Radio related problem, which would require porting/making a hybrid radio and also S-OFF. But the main one I am thinking sounds more worth trying for is the suggestion that the Framework is incorrect/needs a bit of tweaking and this would allow the HTC Rezound to send texts/SMS on GSM and/or HSPA networks (I use HSPA)
So please could someone willing look into this and try and fix/solve as this would be very beneficial to us all (being able to use this phone abroad/on holiday for example )
Also some people, including me, cannot connect to DATA/3G without a method which makes it 'kick in', so if this issue was also looked at it would be Great!!!

Buddy, this isn't the right forum for this thread. I assume everyone who cares about this issue has seen your thread in the general forum. This is a Verizon phone. 99.9% of the people who own this phone are Verizon customers. There are very few people who care about this issue enough to do something about it. It is very unlikely that we are going to get S-Off as we can flash roms/kernels with what we have. Plus, the work that it would take to develop a hybrid radio would probably be significant.
That said. If everything except SMS works, how about just using email to SMS your friends or a free texting app? Yes, it is not ideal, but this phone is not meant to be used over anything aside from CDMA, EvDo, and LTE.

And to the OP, will Google Talk work overseas? Wouldn't that be the best way since SMS doesn't work? Just a thought.

basically lol... The people who use this to the hours spent making this happen ratio would be so low it wouldn't even be funny.
Okay guys
See when I ask nicely for people willing to help, I don't expect to see people telling me why it wouldn't work or people trying to be funny? And
And I said in the post if you read properly that the possible fix I would suggest Dev's to work on would be the Framework, NOT THE RADIO PROBLEM AS WE DON'T HAVE S-OFF
And this is XDA-Developers, the place where issues no matter how small can be solved
I will ignore this and say to everyone unless its helpful/Nice ,don't post

April 30, HTC will be removing some HTCSense.com services. Customer data will be available for download until that date to ensure customers do not lose any important information. This is in response to customer feedback, and HTC is working to improve our services to provide a more enhanced customer experience.

Honestly, it looks like a whole lot of nothing to me. The HTCSense.com stuff has been pretty isolated and really doesn't provide anything for ROM developers; from what I've gathered, it's mostly for app devs. They aren't going to upload Sense source code or anything, they're probably just going to update the site so that everything is up to standards.
it will probably be relaunched as dashwire or integrated with...
Maybe we can try to get some attention if we all express our frustration on the Verizon support forums.
I propose we flood the forums with topics about the INC4g and how little support the phone gets. We need to express our concerns on their ground, and threaten to switch carriers. I already stated that I would be switching to AT&T. Maybe we can get enough attention and get a response! I believe it is worth a try, what do we really have to lose??

The droid Incredible 4G LTE was the best phone to be release since the Droid Incredible. Verizon Wireless has locked the bootloader on the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. That means that they own the device not you. It would be like me coming into your house and using your phone, playing on your computer, or sending a virus to your network. With a locked bootloader VZW can update your device with out any real knowledge of how you use your phone. I customize everything I own except the Droid Incredible 4G LTE because even through it is paid for VZW owns it. I dont rent I buy but VZW has taken away my right to own that was given to me in the Constitution. Be aware that VZW has become a monopoly and they will own you if you let them.

Verizon actually moved the IDEA topic to a more relevant Android forum, as opposed to the Off-Topic forum in which I was forced to post it initially. They also made it readable without needing to sign-in first. These are both positive steps by the VZW mods.
It would be great if we could get some more up-votes on the idea to show them we would appreciate an official solution!
