After tons of hard work from the devs here at xda they pushed out an unlock for the MOTO Atrix .
What does this mean? Xda devs once again proving they can make the impossible possible.
I still believe HTC will unlock our 3D'S but with devs like joeykrim on our side I'm feeling pretty confident no matter what. I'm doing what I can researching and exploring for exploits. The time is coming and coming soon! Have faith and enjoy your 3D it will be unlocked soon and no one will have to return

You do understand that the devs didn't make the unlock happen for the Atrix. They had a leaked GB build that included an unlockable bootloader. I'm not saying the devs didn't do anything, not even close. I'm just saying that if there was a leaked ROM floating around that had an unlockable bootloader for the E3D, it would be much easier to unlock the bootloader.
Are we getting latest and greatest Android OS?

As explained in many posts, the flyer is expected to get an htc release of ICS... but the view has yet to be mentioned and is currently EOL via sprint, so the chances of an htc release is slim.
Sorry but isn't a view is a flyer?

mostly, but the flyer has a gsm radio and the view has a cdma radio. flashing one to the other is only good for bricking.

That's not quite the only difference. They have a different chipset too.
As for ICS, eventually, but seeing as how the view only just got HC 3 months ago I wouldn't count on any official (HTC) builds hitting us until the end of the year IMO. If i'm wrong, i'm wrong.
Holding out for Jelly Bean...............

Expected by whom?
I have heard nothing but rumors. Flyer is not on any list the HTC has published or endorsed.
I wouldn't expect it.
Doubt so. I think HTC have finished announcing their 'waves'

Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S not getting ICS due to Touchwiz bloat.

LOL
same excuse as HTC for some of their Sense devices.
I heard a rumour that the HTC support people had leaked ics was coming to the flyer in q1... Not saying it's true but it seems a lot sites liked up on it and spread it.

Old rumor discussed at length about two months ago, never confirmed by anyone at HTC.

HTC-Dev isn't HTC, it's just more rumors on another forum. Official info is here:

If they ever announce the view/flyer getting ICS, it'll go there.

There you have it.
so the only thing to do :
belive in xda-dev
Wow just reading the blog, so many people are asking about flyer and HTC decided not to include in the ICS roll out.... Fully capable and able device like View/Flyer should be getting it first, I bet they cant integrate the scribe in to it or its taking them a very long time to do it and this is why they are not putting it forward.... This really is a sad day for us HTC flyer/view users
I have faith in God, everyone else must pay up front. LOL
I ve contacted HTC support and confirmed thats there is no scheduled update since now. I think that means we will never see any update for Flyer. HC turned out very buggy I cant even make skype calls, music sounds strage in high volume, flash player plays only via explorer and nowhere else eg fb, and many others. I ve just downgrade to GB and my Flyer is usable again with no bugs till now. ps I ve asked support how to downgrade and they anwered that I just cant. My opinion is that there will be no update even for bugs HTC just dont care for HTC Flyer anymore they consider it as a dropped project.
A friend of mine pointed me to this from Droid central. It makes me hopeful for our Photon!

Not to burst ur bubble but this news doesnt help the photon bootloader unlock at all. First off the phones listed are newer phones in 2012 which were using the qualcomm chip which may be easier to unlock. Also it mentions that the droid bionic bootloader cannot be unlocked due to it using the TI omap 4 chip which proves my first point. Since the tegra 2 chip in the photon is so old, i doubt it will happen with the 2.3.5 update.

Ok. Consider my bubble officially burst.
Our bootloader has locked with 2.3.5... but who'd run ICS/JB on this phone as a daily driver? No HWA, camcorder, and overall lack of performance kill newer android versions for this phone.
I have had an HTC phone since the Aria. Previously I bought the HTC ONE X+, due to the tegra processor, this phone still doesn't have a working ASOP/AOKP/CM ROM. Having to live with sense for many months while I had the HOX+, I have learned a great respect for the developers that build these custom ROMS we take for granted. Thank you very much for all your hard work on the HTC One. You have given us many choices and freedom from the stock version.

it is just a question to see if there is still work and people developing the at&t version
i'm sadly saying this that i regret getting this phone, so much power yet limited development due to crappy manufacturer and carrier
Sure there is.

ive had this phone since december and ive been following it...just recently flashed the viper rom and am pretty happy with the performance. As for AOSP and such development, it got pretty close before the dev had to abandon the device because it was taking too much of his time. hopefully the dev he sent the phone to can figure it all out soon, and hopefully if we get the Sense 5, 4.2.2 update it will help!
I bought this phone after "Exploring" the Windows Lumina phones. And STILL bought a Nexus 4 because of the development. I agree, hopefully there will be a Dev who will show mercy on us AT&T customers and port Sense 5 and 4.2. to our beloved and much hated AT&T HTC One X+ . Even though I don't use the X+ much I still check the 2 roms out there for us and use them daily for a week or two. I miss Sense *Hint Hint*
As far as I know, Steve is the only one who's been working on it. Turge has been working on the one and lloir shipped his off to a new dev but I haven't heard any updates about that but his team is still making progress on aosp
