[How To] Protect Your Android From Unauthorized Access - Optimus One, P500, V General

To set a Pattern lock:
Press the Menu key from the Home Screen
Touch Settings
Touch Location & Security
Touch Set up screen lock (the "simple swipe screen lock" is a different feature and is not a security based lock, it only prevents accidental keypresses)
Select Pattern Lock
Follow the on-screen instructions and draw your lock pattern. When prompted draw pattern to unlock phone.
Set your Security lock timer. (range: Activate when display is off, or set it to lock anywhere between 1-20 minutes)
When set, you will get 5 attempts to enter the Pattern lock before you are given a chance to reset the security lock on the handset with your Gmail account and password.
To set a Passcode lock:
Press the Menu key from the Home Screen.
Touch Settings.
Touch Location & Security
Touch Set screen lock (the "simple swipe screen lock" is a different feature and is not a security based lock, it only prevents accidental keypresses)
Select Passcode lock.
Enter a passcode lock, then tap on the check mark.
Enter the passcode lock again to confirm it and tap on the check mark to implement. Done!
When set, you will get 5 attempts to enter the Passcode lock before you are given a chance to reset the security lock on the handset with your Gmail account and password.
Notes:
If you want your handset to set Pattern Lock or Passcode lock whenever you press the top button, set Security lock timer for "When display is off". The handset display will go to black and set your security lock. Press any key to bring up your security-locked display..
Unlocking the Security Lock when locked out:
Enter the correct pattern or passcode to unlock the handset after a security lock has been set.
If you forgot the pattern or your passcode is not working, the handset will allow you to log-in with the Gmail information you programmed into the handset during set-up.
You will need to try entering a pattern or passcode at least five times. If you fail to draw the correct unlock pattern or passcode on the screen after five attempts, the phone will prompt you to wait for 30 seconds before you can try again.
Press OK or wait for 30 seconds before attempting again.
After you press OK, the lock will come back again with a button on bottom right that states Forgot pattern.
Tap Forgot Pattern.
You will be prompted to sign in using your Google/Gmail account and then to create a new screen unlock. You can skip entering a new security lock.
If you forgot or are unsure about your Google password, but you know your Gmail login or Google account name, you can have Gmail send you a password change request link to your other email address through your computer. Click Here for our detailed FAQ on Gmail password reset. Summary of process is below.
Please use a computer to visit http://www.gmail.com.
From the Gmail login page click on the "Can't access your account?"
Follow the steps in that guide to recover your Gmail login information. Click Here for our detailed FAQ on Gmail password reset
Once your login information is recovered, please use that information to unlock the handset using initial steps above. If you recently created your Gmail account or changed its password, allow up to an hour to try the new password.
Note: You must have had a Gmail account setup on the handset before you locked the handset to reset your passcode through Gmail.
Your phone can still be powered off when locked. Turning the phone back on will return to the lock screen.
If all of the above steps do not assist in unlocking your phone, you can perform a factory reset as a last resort. All the data you have previously entered on your handset (not SDcard) will be deleted and you will need to start new. Contact Motorola Customer Service or your carrier for help in resetting your device back to factory defaults.

Same issue, Google account gets stuck during browser sign in
I have the same problem with my recently repaired (and factory reset) Samsung tablet. I am prompted to sign in using the browser and I get to the same My Account page as pictured above. But after following all the links and doing the various checks, there is nothing else to do. When I hit the device context menu, I'm given the option to exit the browser sign in, but nothing else. Any help would be appreciated.
Samsung Note 10.1 2014 Edition
I figured out my tablet's problem
My tablet was unable to finish the sign in process with the Google 2-factor authentication enabled. I hope that this helps @supakwong or anyone else who encounters this problem.
Solution: I went into my Google account settings and turned off the 2FA and then tried adding the Google account to my tablet again. The sign in process immediately worked and didn't require me to sign in using the browser. After making sure I could access things like the Play Store, I turned the 2FA back on.
After turning the 2FA back on, in tablet required me to log back into my Google account, but this time it worked great.
Ugh. This is ridiculous. I was hoping there was a better solution than turning off 2-factor, because all my application specific passwords etc will need to be redone.
And... there's our answer. Just create an application specific password and use that to set up your account on your device. Worked like a charm for me. No removing 2-factor.
It's seem happen to not specific phone, I got this problem too.

Remove Lock Screen Completely

Hi,
I'm looking for some help with removing the Honor 9 lock screen completely.
I've turned off password etc but still have the "slide to unlock" screen on without any security. I don't want this screen at all.
There is an option in developer options that says "Screen Lock" thats enabled and greyed out, I can't turn this off. Under it, it says "disabled by administrator encryption policy or credential storage". I have tried clearing credentials, turning phone on/off etc as instructed online but no look.
I really want rid of the lock screen altogether.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I tried that but it made no difference, the option was still greyed out.
I still need help with this. The option in developer options is greyed out. How can I gain access to this to disable the lock screen?

By default the Honor 9 encrypts all your user data when you set it up out the box. It is now a standard feature of EMUI since version 5
We have the same problem, and non of the tips worked.... We have tried to cancel all settings in backup and restore, but that didn't help either...
What else can we do?
Thanks ?
I used this tutorial once on Honor 7

[SOLVED] Mi unlock not working

Description
I have downloaded the latest Mi Unlock version miflash_unlock-en-6.5.406.31.
I have two authentication option :
Email + password then SMS 2FA (
https://imgur.com/7pb6vRw
)
QR code (
https://imgur.com/2MHcHK4
)
When I log in with my email + password it's asking for a SMS code but I'm never receiving any SMS from Xiaomi. It's not an issue on my side since am receiving SMS from other peoples and it's the right number since it's already associated to my Mi account and was verified. With other Xiaomi services I'm receiving SMS, I'm not just for the Unlock tool.
With the QR code authentication using my phone, it's says authentication successful but that I have to re-login (
https://imgur.com/gcz7lET
) and when I click on the login button there is a login wheel on a white screen loading indefinitely (
https://imgur.com/iJR7miT
).
I tried clicking on the "bug & feedback" button, it redirects to https://en.miui.com/forum.php but the page returns a 502 HTTP error.
I downloaded MI Unlock from https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html (miflash_unlock-en-6.5.224.28). When launching it, it offered me to download a newer version at miuirom.xiaomi.com/rom/u1106245679/6.5.406.31/miflash_unlock-en-6.5.406.31.zip (miflash_unlock-en-6.5.406.31). Both have the same behavior.
I tried running the software on various Windows 10 machines without success. So If I understand correctly as I'm not even able to log in properly I can't start the ultra-long unlock timer.
My opinion:
Why there is even the account linking, the PC tool required, the very long timer, etc. while on other vendor phones there is just one button to press or a key to retrieve on your account.
[email protected] is not answering, it's just an empty mailbox. [email protected] answered me but asked me to rewrite my mail in French because I wrote it in English and no answer since. My post in Xiaomi sub-reddit has been pending for approval for weeks "Post is awaiting moderator approval.". Xiaomi community forum is buggy as hell and my post there was removed.
All this look like a giga scam from Xiaomi so people can't unlock their phones and stay with unrooted MIUI. I bought the POCO F3 just because I was supposed to be able to root and flash it but now I can't even unlock it.

Question Need help with Pattern unlock , trying to recover files.

My 6 year old non verbal niece found my moto g power 2021 and installed a pattern unlock on it. Normally I would just erase it and call it a day. But the download folder has files I need. I tried the moto redit for my phone but they where of no help. I figure this place is maybe my last hope. All the paid android unlocks erase all data to get by the pattern lock and I can already do a hard reset to do that. Is there anything I can do to just recover the files ? that i really should have backed up

Question Soft rebooting

My unlocked s23 ultra on Verizon keeps doing what I call a 'soft reboot'. What I mean by this, is all connections drop (Bluetooth, wiif, calls, etc.) all notifications are removed, and I have to unlock my phone as if it was just rebooted or turned on (pin required). It takes only 10ish seconds, so it is not a hard reboot, and my adb settings stay turned on (used for Tasker). Are there logs I cam review (Tasker's shows nothing) or some tool to track what is causing this?
i think every 72 hours you have to enter your pin again for security reasons, if it gets stolen or something.
If thats the case its not a soft reboot it just requires you to enter your pin again.

Thank you, but what I am experiencing clears all open apps, closes all open radios (phone, Bluetooth, wifi, etc), clears all notifications, stops any of my running widgets (like a weather notification and a traffic analyzer) and the password screen indicates I have to enter my password at boot up (or something similar, I can try and get a picture)

Try in safe mode. If it doesn't happen then there's an app causing the issue. If it happens contact Samsung support
