It was weak before you flashed StreakDroid 1.9 to it, if anything it will be more stable with StreakDroid. He has modified several scripts to help with HSPA connectivity and wifi

Hey, when I was on 1.6 my internet connection was 3G above the two arrows in the upper right corner. Now that I have went to 2.1 I am using "H" which I am guessing is HSUPA. Depending on my signal strength it goes from between H - 3G - G.
Not really an issue just wondering why I now have use of HSUPA on 2.1 when I only went up to 3G on 1.6?
Thanks in advance.

Hy. I have a problem that is very pissing me off. I have my Hero from a week now, I instaled Froyo 2.2.1 rom whit the lattest radio update from Villain`s forums. Here come`s the problem. My signal bar isn`t moving at all. It stay`s full all the time. I mean is not precise.I need to go to de basemment to descend. And when I go there is descending two bars in a time. With another signal widgets is working fine, i mean the signal si ascending and descending well. What could be the solve of my porblem ?
Thanks
Nobody had this problem before?
So there in this forum there are a lot of masters an no one is able to help me? ( The signal level still jumps 2 bars at a time.
Hi there
And how is the situation at other locations ?
I dont have problems like that :/

everywhere i go the situation is the same .. the signal jumbs two bars at a time. there is no way i can have one or three bars on my htc, only two of four.
Have you tried wiping the dalvik and data cache ?
Yes, I wiped everythink on the phone, instaled nem roms, changed the radio databases but the problem is the same.. (
If third party apps are telling you that the signal is fine then the only thing it can be is the signal pictures in the framework-res.apk are wrong, the radio firmware wont change that.
Have you tried to install a new theme or anything ?
Thanks FlanFinger for your respose. It may be a stupid question but where I can find themes for [ROM]Elelinux-7.1.0-Hero-v2.1 Android 2.3.4 (2011-05-02)? Thanks
LATER EDIT: I just checked and my signal strenght jump from -89 dBm (4 signal bars) to -101 dBm (2 signal bars) directly.
what could be the problem? I instaled also another theme from the theme chooser with another signal icons but the problem is the same.
What radio firmware are you using ?
Right now I`m using baseband version 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18 , but like I said I tried different Raio versions and the problem persists.
What rom are you using ?
The only thing left to suggest is to try another rom
I`m ussing [ROM]Elelinux-7.1.0-Hero-v2.1 Android 2.3.4 . I tried anothers, but the signal bars react same.
I've got the exact same problem using the same rom. It currently says no bars where I would normally get full signal but is pulling in 3G and HSDPA? I'm on Orange. Could be network?

I have the exact same problem. I can't remember when it started as my Hero has been through so many changes.
I'm currently using Elelinux 6.2 Froyo Speedmachine after coming from Froyd 1.7.2. I reckon it must be the radio software personally. I only get three network states, no bars (but there is a signal), two bars or four. Sometimes, but I do get one bar but its rare.
On a side note I'm getting sick of Oranges data network. Quite often it says H or 3G and yet nothing seems to happen.

Yes, this is the exact thing that is happening to me! Hope someone could solve our radio problem!
This just started today but my 3G signal is sporatic going from 3G to 1X. Anybody experiencing this? My signal even drops completely.

Let me guess...
You are on an MTD ROM like MIUI CM7, (or some variation of CM7)...
The 3G data dropping out is a problem that comes and goes on many people's phones that can usually be temporarily fixed by toggling Airplane mode or a reboot.
There is no known fix at this time
But... if you are not on an MTD Rom, then disregard my reply
It's also a known fact that the Fascinate has a terrible radio chip. Whether on MTD, modified TouchWiz ROMs or stock, my signal constantly goes from 3G to 1x. Hopefully my wife(Nexus Prime) won't do that.
Hi guys, sorry if this isn't the place to post this, I don't have the post count yet to ask in the CM7 thread in the development section.
Anywho, ever since I flashed CM7 on my phone, I haven't been able to get a good HSPA+ connection. It keeps wavering from H+ to 3G. And if I do get a connection to H+, it is dead slow (did speakeasy speed test and got .4 down .1 up).
I also did the ATT data fix, but that seems to not work either.
Any help to my problem?
Mine seems to jump between 3G & H but I never thought to blame it on the ROM. Speeds are solid on both so didn't see it as an issue. Also I flashed CM7 right when I pulled it out of the box so don't know if it did that on stock or not.

The only reason why I think it may have something to do with CM7 is because before I was unrooted stock rom, and I had consistent H+ signal, with 6-7 down 2 up. Ever since I flashed, it has been very sluggish. Even my old Desire had consistent H+ signal in the areas tested. Not sure what's going on. Maybe it's a setting that I need to tweak or turn on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I have the SK17i and I'm a bit down by the bad network connection. I use GSM only mode, since UMTS coverage isnt that good as GSM coverage and with both enabled, its switching all the time.
Do you have similar problems?
A call breaks up, but I still got good connection displayed... 5 sec later, i got the yellow warning and no signal ... 10 sec later everything is back normal and I can make calls...
This is really freaking me out...
Do have this problem, too?
Is there any Solution?
Thanks,
Linkin
what software are you running? maybe that's the issue.
i used to have e-plus, cell coverage was ok, but internet was horrible.
now vodafone, good reception, good internet.
i'm running minCMsandwich, before that hybrom with x-kernel, never had problems with phone reception.
I'm running the stock ROM (*.58) at the moment!
I have o2 germany network!
Might wanna try different baseband?
Often radio problems are related to baseband...

Fully stock phones shouldn't have problems with baseband at all.
I will leave my mini pro since I can't really use it this way... I'm gonna give it a last try with the new ICS ROM but I'm not really optimistic...

It looks like the ICS update fixed this problem!!! THANKS Sony... I love the XMP!
Unfortunately i have also a little problem with that.
I had poor bad network connection on GB... but both on official ICS and CM9 FXP123 its not much better...
baseband .72 is great. drain a lot battery, anyway
just had the same problem with ICS once... I will report back, how it progresses...
