You can enter into the recovery mode by pressing up on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Once you enter into the recovery mode, choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
i am unable to enter in to recovery mode. what is the cause

developer options problem

i was playing around with the developer options in my samsung galaxy s2 i9100 running cm10.1. suddenly my phone stopped responding when i selected the "Simulate secondary displays" option. it boots up fine but gets stuck at the "android is upgrading" part.
i know that factory reset in recovery will solve the problem. is there any other alternative so that i dont lose my data????
any help is appreciated!!!!!
try cleaning cache and dalvik cache from recovery. this will wipe last operation without deleting and data.
shut off phone.
Press Volume up + home key + Power to reboot into recovery.\
scroll down to cache, enter and say yes.
then go to advanced - dalvis chache -enter -say yes
then click go back until you reach the first screen and then click reboot system.
tried that already not working. i think the last setting was saved...

Click to collapse
Reflash CM10.1, if it won't help, you will need to do a nandroid backup and then factory reset.
had no other choice... nandroid backup>factory reset>reinstall apps+data using titanium backup

phone stuck on the start-up screen - (Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000)

Hi Guys,
I was trying to install the new MIUI OS on the GT-N7000 and followed the below instruction:
How To Install MIUI and Google Apps?(only if phones is rooted and has non cm10 kernel)
Download MIUI V5: goo.im/devs/ibotpeaches/miuiandroid/releases/3.7.12/miuiandroid_GT-N7000_jb-3.7.12.zip
And GAPPS : goo.im/devs/ibotpeaches/miuiandroid/releases/gapps/miuiandroid_gapps-4.1.2-small_signed.zip
And CM10 Kernel:sourceforge.net/projects/anikos/files/AniDroid-JB-N7000/AniDroid-JB-N7000-v0.5_10092012.zip/download
->Put EVERYTHING in external SDcard
2. Switch Off the phone and Go To Recovery Mode.( to go to recovery press and hold the Volume Up
+Home (center) keys simultaneously and then hold the Power key. Keep the three buttons pressed till the screen turns up, the Samsung logo blinks for two times.)
3. Flash CM10 Kernel.
4. Reboot back into Recovery(you'll find the option on the same screen or go back to main menu and check)
5, Now Wipe Data, Cache & Dalvik Cache
6. Flash MIUI V5
--> To flash miui v5 :- First of all, backup your current ROM so that you can restore it in case you do not like the new ROM. Scroll down to “backup and restore” option and select “backup”. It might take a few minutes for the backup to complete.
9. When it is done select go back option and choose “wipe data/factory reset” option and wipe it.
10. Then go to ”wipe cache partition” and wipe it.
11. Finally go to “advanced” option and “wipe dalvik cache”.
12. Return back to the main menu and select “install zip from sd card> choose zip from sd card” and select the ROM file that you copied to your phone.
Finally, go back to the main menu in Recovery and select ” reboot system now”.
7. Reboot the phone and then go back to recovery mode and then..
8... Flash GAPPS
9. Reboot and you are ready to go.
NOTE::: The first boot after installing a new ROM takes much longer time (up to 3-7 minutes) than an usual boot. In case your phone does not boot properly and you are stuck on bootanimation remove the back cover, pull out the battery, wait for a minute and reinsert the battery. Boot phone into Recovery again and “wipe data/factory reset” . Reboot device and things should go fine.
So 1st the phone was stuck on cyanogenmod screen, Because it was stuck I rebooted twice & then Wipe Data, Cache & Dalvik Cache and Flashed the ROM and Gapps post which the phone now does not go into recovery mode at all when i try (up volume + Home + Power) When i do so its stuck on the screen which says Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000. Dont know the way ahead PLz help guys.
Hope someone can fix this.
Regards,
Alex

Hi, I was checking and there's not much information on how to flash R720, so I decided to help with the way I do, and I have done many of them.
I will not take reponsability for a bad use or any problem caused on your phone, so please read carefully and go ahead.
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING !!!!
First download this package that contain everything you will use : d-h.st/zFgk
1- Turn your phone off and install with odin the file named: admire-cwm_2.tar
2- with the phone off, now press these 3 at the same time, power button, volume down and the back key and when shows the samsung logo, release the buttons and inmediately press volume up and home button and it will enter in to Recovery Mode, now install the file named: CM72RC1-Kernel.zip wipe data and wipe cache and power the phone off again.
3 - Enter to Recovery Mode again, and flash file named: Samsung-Admire-rc3.zip, wipe data and cache, reboot the phone and will be done.
