[Q] Possible to reverse Deodex process? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm new to Android modding so this might be a dumb question. But is there a way to reverse the Deodex process? (ie turning all files back to odex files again like stock)

I believe if you look at the thread deodex bell files from NFHimself he has a backup to restore odex

[Q] Bootloader & Rom's

Hi,
I'm quite confused with all this, I know that the Atrix Bootloader is locked, but what does that mean. I thought it meant we can not install roms, but what is gingerblur?
Can someone clarify this for me, thanks
Ben
+ deoxed files (what are they) THANKS
someone must know...
You can not install full roms. The roms available are just what other devices would call themes and hacks.

im gonna bump this thread.
A locked bootloader is one thing but the Atrix has both a locked bootloader and a signed one which means any files that we would like to flash over need to be checked if they have moto's sign otherwise they'll be blocked from being flashed.
Keep in mind this means that "roms" are still possible its just that kernels/radios cannot be improved or installed. In the Atrix's case I assume a bit more than this since the OS was built around the webtop so there may be additional sections of the android OS unaccessible.
Gingerblur changes the android OS with various build.prop edits and removed/added apks. Of course there is also a theme applied which was created by editing the framework-res.apk
Deodex files are there as opposed to odexed files which you can find in the /system/apps/ folder in the atrix by default. Deodexed roms runs applications directly from the source of the apk where odexed roms force certain applications to load on boot but this usually interferes with modifications which is why any of the themes available require a deodexed rom.

Theming bell atrix.

From what I've seen its not possible but can you theme an odexed atrix or do you have to deodex first. I have CWM installed so its just a matter of flashing the right .zip am I correct?
I've hard bricked my last phone so I'm just being safe

[Q] How to get Deodexed 4.5.91?

Hey all,
I'm running rooted 4.5.91 stock OTA 2.3.4 GB with locked BL. Is it possible to get deodexed without flashing one of the many ROMS out there?
Tried searching but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks
Edit:I finally found a link that should help anyone else who is in my shoes. Just finished running this and now I'm deodexed on 4.5.91 without having to flash one of the custom roms! Just extract the files to a folder on your computer and follow the OP's directions.

[Q] A few noob Rooting/Rom questions

I was browsing the 4.3 OTA beans thread and came up with a few questions. I only want the 4.3 to get my Galaxy Gear working with my GN2. I really have no other desire to flash custom roms and mod my device.
What is the difference between the ODEX and DEODEX? I have no idea what either of these is or mean. I am unsure of which version to flash to my i605 that is currently stock, but will shortly be rooted and ready to flash.
Also, what version of ODIN do i need to use to flash the necessary firmware?
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
After doing some research I think I've learned a little about the odex vs. deodex...I'm not into theming so I guess the odex version would be fine for me...
In the system/app directory of your phones root storage there is by default a .odex file that follows each and every built in app. The ROM builder removes the .odex file to make it easier to theme your ROM. If you are simply looking for a stock experience, use the ODEX. As for ODIN, whatever version is latest, or whatever version is linked in the Root Instruction post will work. I have v3.07.
IIRC, Nephilim ROM has Gear support
