Tks very much for your mail and understand.
In this case, you need not the worry, this is normal, you can put it in the cable jack wipe clean with a pencil, and then install your screen.
Because of you know, they have a lot of black jack cable thing.you can try to do so.is thisi ok?
Locking Ribbon Cable Connectors
Don't know that this is the answer to your problem, but when I replaced my screen it would not respond to touch. I found that there are connector locks on the digitizer ribbon connector and on the side button ribbon connector. Once I flipped these locks down on the ribbon cables the screen responded to touch. It's something to check at least. Look at this discussion, http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9382&highlight=replacement , and you will get a good set of directions and some excellent large pictures to help you. Good luck!

So I cracked my LCD screen, bought a replacement, opened up the phone w/ little incident (man they really do cram a lot in there!) and I powered it on.....
the screen is just white, if I fiddle with the connection at where the LCD connects into what I believe is the digitizer I can kind of see a keypad button layout.
What do these symptoms describe and does anyone have a link to the service manual?
Thanks in advance for your time.
I had to replace the LCD on a wizard so here my experience... Make sure the two data ribbons are inserted securely. Also, before you power on, plug your hermes into your computer (assuming your computer is on and logged in as an admin) via USB (this sounds weird but I had to do this for some reason....) and then turn on the wizard.
If you still have a problem, you may have damaged something more than the screen.
Good luck.
Ok I will give plugging it in a shot.
Before you plugged it in what did it do when you powered it on?
anyone else have any input on what the issue could be?
It could be wrong LCD. There are two types of LCD for hermes/wizard with same connector but they are different. One is with gold flex cable, the other is with black flex cable. First one is most popular on wizards, the other on hermes. Check what was the color of your previous lcd flex cable and the new one.
Instructions
Can anyone post the instructions on how to take the lcd apart ?
I have gotten this far
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1152710&page=1&pp=15
I'm a bit afraid to go on without instructions
Here is the lcd I got
http://cnn.cn/shop/8525tytn-touch-p-87.html
I swapped a good LCD screen and memory (internal and external) cards from a 98% functioning, water damaged, Streak to a perfectly functioning Streak with a broken LCD screen. I followed all the directions I found for replacing the LCD screen. I managed to do the LCD swap without damaging either Streak. However, I cannot unlock the screen and use the good Streak now. The touch screen does not respond to any touch and the capacitive buttons (back, menu, home) do not respond to touch. The capacitive buttons light up so I assume they are connected properly. My first assumption was that I had not properly reconnected one of the ribbon cables. I reopened the good Streak and checked to connection of all three ribbon cables and reconnected them to be sure. Reassembled the good Streak, but no change in behavior. I believe this is a mechanical problem, but I don't know what else to check. What do I do next?
Locking Ribbon Cable Connectors
I guess there aren't any hardware folks reading these Streak forums. How many times have you read a guy's tale of woe and he says he followed all the instructions, but when you nail him down to the details you soon find that he wasn't following the instructions? I thought I might have fallen into the same trap (not being able to read and follow instructions) so I re-read all the instructions I had used to tell me how replace an LCD screen. It looked to me like I followed all the instructions for dis-assembly and re-assembly. Then I noticed an almost under-the-breath comment in ALPERIN1's instructions (http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9382&highlight=replacement) that the connector for the digitizer ribbon cable had a part that flipped up. No one's instructions said to flip this connector "lock" up or to push it back down to lock the cable in place during re-assembly. Not only is there a locking connector on the digitizer ribbon cable connector, there is a locking connector on the side button ribbon cable connector. I pushed down the "locks" on the digitizer and side button connectors on my Streak and long story short, everything is now working! Thanks to ALPERIN1 for his instructions and MARVIN02 for the great pictures of the connectors!!
Hey boss,
Sorry I did not respond to you sooner, I was on the road. Glad you are all fixed up.
Again, I will try to clarify the locks in the PDF so they stand out more.

good afternoon,
My xperia mini pro sk17a has a black screen.
Prior to this occurrence, I had a bad flex ribbon cable to the sliding keyboard. Screen would go black and come back with sliding keyboard motion. Opened the phone and found that the cable was torn. Decided to buy a replacement flex cable and installed it. Everything looked okay but...
Once I put the phone back together, no screen at all. If I turn the phone on, there is a very very faint amount of light present (you can only see this in the dark). The phone does boot, and the notification light will flash indicating new messages. I can call the phone and it will ring.
Hoping that this might be some sort of software reset, I tried flashing with the SUS software. No help, phone still behaves as described above. I'm guessing I need a new screen (maybe damaged it somehow taking the phone apart?), but has anyone gone through this and know of a solution other than more new hardware?
Thank you in advance for any help or feedback.
I think new flex cable is also damaged. You should check flex cable in another SK17.
Hey Guys,
so after having to replace my screen a cpl of months ago which worked fine (disregarding the trouble with MTK drivers and such), I now decided to replace the entire frame as the glass wasn't sitting on the frame properly and was only held in place by the transparent silicon case from Ele.
Well, now my power button doesn't work anymore. The screen lights up when I plug in the charging cable and displays charge % and the battery image.
Powering up with the button doesn't do anything. The ribbon cable and connections seem fine. Buttons click.
Unfortunately, I didn't film the entire process and I now realized, that I have one small metal plate left. 0.1 cm x 3 cm in size, very thin.
I suspect it's the reason the power button is no longer functional but I cannot seem to figure out where it belongs. I checked the disassembly movies on youtube but it does not show up anywhere.
If I recall correctly, it sort of fell out when plucking out the Screen.
Anybody got an idea?
Thanks
Edit: Ok found the position of the metal plates in some spanish video, they are part of the sim tray stabilization.
Problem remains. I am out of ideas.
CLOSED: Ribbon cable does indeed have a super small tear... ffs
I don't know what happen, suddenly side screen my pocophone turn white
Can you give guy me a solution? please
besides having to replace the screen, because the cost is very expensive for me
And now the side of screen turning green
Sorry my english so bad
Screen turning white and green almost always means a faulty display or a faulty/loose ribbon connector.
Nothing you can do other than sending it to repair. If it's a ribbon cable fault, maybe someone can refurbish it for a lesser cost. But since ribbon cable and screen come in one piece, most repair shops would ask you to replace the entire screen.
Hope it's just a loose ribbon cable. Did you bump the phone somewhere? Or try to open it?
