Randomly this evening, my phone has decided that it no longer wants to send any MMS messages. I can send SMS messages just fine, but MMS messages do not go through. They sit for a while, and then it just says that the text message cannot be sent.
Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve factory resetting?

You have 2 options.
1)do master reset and retest it.
2) call your cell carrier.
I had a similar problem a few nights ago. All I had to do was reboot it.
That's all I need to do for a few random glitches.

Do you have data disabled? I noticed when data is disabled, mms do not go through..
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk
No, data was enabled. I was able to browse the internet and such, so I don't think it was a connectivity problem. But it's fixed now, so I guess it really doesn't matter.

Okay. When I said it was fixed that was actually a lie. It's started doing it again. I have no idea what caused it, but it will sometimes work and sometimes not. Any ideas anyone?

Will it be the APN settings problems?
In some country you have to set your mms APN manual
Mine does the same thing. A restart is only a temporary fix because it has done it again a day later or so. I have not found anything to fix it yet.
I am on 4g. Not on wifi. unlimited messages.

Try this on dialpad
*#*#4636#*#*
Wacth phone services
Then tap second right update buttom
It must be filled with Service Center Number, for sms/mms data. If you get 'update error', you may have a bug in system that prevents it from correctly setup of older sim cards (mostly cutted ones), if so, buy a new micro sim. It's cheap and solves a lot of small problems
Thanks, and if helps any way, share the learnin'

I tried this but every time I entered the code nothing popped up. But I think I've figured it out. It appears to only happen when I'm connected to a WiFi network. So I guess I just have to disconnect from WiFi if I want to send an MMS message.

I had the same issue, tried a number of things to fix it. Called Verizon and apparently it's a known issue that they expect to be fixed with the upcoming GB update. Other than that the only way I was able to workaround was installing Go SMS Pro, which sent MMS messages fine.
I figured out what the problem is! It stems back to the problem the Razr has with switching between 3G and 4G. In my house, I have to use WiFi because I live on the edge of a 4G service area. I get maybe one bar of 4G service, which without WiFi, pretty much refuses to do anything having to do with data. Apparently, even though WiFi is enabled, the MMS messages are NOT being transmitted over WiFi. So instead, it attempts to send them over 4G cellular data and fails because of the poor reception in my house. Switching the phone from CDMA/LTE to CDMA only before sending the messages (my signal reception jumps to 4 bars) allows it to send without failing.

Today I took some pictures of my son thru my wife's phone and sent them to myself and this was around 3pm and till this very moment I have yet to receive any of those photos I also tried resending them when I got home and I have yet to receive anything. Any one else experience experience something similar or no of a way to fix this?

I have had terrible luck worm MMS. They all show up but only a small percentage download. I have been in connect with Sprint multiple times but they have been generally worthless.

The problem is because all the MMS messages are sent through our crappy, slow 3g networks...
If you give it enough time, you will get it... There are currently methods to send MMS messages through wifi, but I don't think it's been perfected yet (I could be wrong). Your phone also needs to be rooted for this fix.
There are also mods where instead of 2MB limit, you can send mms messages up to 5MB's
the thing is even till this day i haven't received the pictures is there any way to re provision this perhaps dialing a code or something ?
It turns out I'm not receiving any messages at all neither SMS or mms

Anyone else having this issue? I can send MMS just fine when i get a data signal. Also calls and SMS are working great over wifi calling....just cant seem to send a MMS.
I use Handcent and have no problem.
Have this issue too
I have this issue as well, when WiFi Calling is activated I cannot send or receive MMS messages.
I'm still completely stock.

I think is the way the tmobile sets it up to turn of the wireless radio but wifi, I seem that on my one s, but if you use another app im like Handcent it uses it wifi so you dont have the problems, again thats my experience on one s, Im waiting for my galaxy s 3 still

Really? I never had the problem while texting
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Unfortunately this is an issue, but I don't know if the blame can be placed on TMobile, as the stock messaging app will allow me to send an MMS over WIFI. The reason being is that MMS is sent using the carrier's data connection. With the stock app, while using wifi, it disconnects from the wifi connection just long enough to send the MMS. However, when using a third party, it does not register and therefor isn't sent until you disconnect from the wifi or resend through the stock app.
Works for me bro. But then again, my data is always on...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
This is a pretty crap issue.
I have no damn signal in my house (even though I really should), so Wifi Calling is a godsend (even though it likes to randomly turn off).
But I've got five MMS pending download because of a group text, and I can't reply. I would have to go up the street to get them.
I'm on Verizon and have the same problem. Only solution to sending and receiving is to clear data, but have to do that every time i send or receive an MMS on stock. tried Go SMS and Handcent, and get the same issues.

This worked for me at work and at home. Just need to do this for every wifi access point you use. I found this on Rootzwiki.
Long press on your Wifi connection
Press "Modify Network"
Scroll down to IP Settings and change that from "DHCP" to "Static"
Scroll down to DNS and enter the following information:
DNS 1 - 8.8.4.4
DNS 2 - 8.8.8.8
Press Save
REBOOT YOUR PHONE! This is important.
I would love to be able to send SMS through my WiFi because I get crap signal in my room.... is there a WiFi calling app for att?

Ive noticed that when sending certain sms messages, the messages will keep spooling and not send unless I delete and resend it. Seems to happen at random times, even with no signal it should still send when it gets a signal right ? Using the Handcent SMS
Same thing happens to me.
I had the exact same issue. I stopped using Handcent and the issue went away. I've never had this issue on any of my last 5 android devices. Really frustrating since I have used handcent as long as I can remember.
+1 - Yep, me too! Even using GVoice + Sprint integration, too!
Also, if I restart my phone all the texts will magically send. Anyone else find this to be the case?
I also noticed that I can't get voice to text to work. I speak, select the line that reflects what I said....and then nothing. It doesn't paste it in. Any one else?

I used to always have issues with handcent. When I had the Hero none of the MMS would send. So since then I have been using Go SMS Pro.
I am using Go Sms and I have the same issue. It seems if I am receiving a text at the same time, mine won't send and I have to delete it and start over. Also, when I send an MMS, it will create drafts of the same thing that I have to remove. My voice to text on swiftkey won't work either. I will have to try it out on stock.

How can you be so sure? I started experiencing this the day I got this phone.
I have the same issues. Unfortunately, the only time I actually get text on time and/or send text reliably is when I use Google voice. I hate Google voices SMS setup, its ugly, and you can't send attachments. Its a shame we have this very cool phone, that can't do the basic cell phone operations. However, I do agree that this issue could very well be a Sprint signal issue and not the fault of HTC.
I'd also like to add, this is my second EVOLTE and both had this issue. Also both phones were and is having problems receiving calls. My missed calls don't even register, so once again, I have to rely on Google voice to let me know I missed a call via email, even after my phone never rang.

I can 100% guarantee you that this is not the reason for this btw....it may be in some places the reason but it is NOT the main reason this is happening...
I know for a FACT there has been 0 work on the towers in my area and seen this same thing happen...
Ok, so for me this is only an issue with third party messaging apps.

I have the same issue. I had the same issue briefly a few weeks ago; however, now it's happening only on Sprint's network. If I check "Roam Only" on Meanrom I'm able to place calls, and send/receive text messages just fine. It started happening again when I used the LazyPanda s-off. I asked Sprint to do an HLR reset, and I still have the same problem. I've updated the profile 7 times now.
I have a unrooted s4 and it will not send mms messages when connected to wifi. I have to turn wifi off for the mms to send. I looked for some auto retrieve/send mms setting but couldn't find any. Anybody have any ideas what I can do?
Can anyone else confirm this???? If so, please do, so i can submit this bug to Samsung.
I can't really test it myself, i have poor signal in my apt. The few times i have received at home it's worked fine. Haven't tried sending.
last time i checked, MMS dont send via wifi. it goes via cell signal/data never worked when i was on my nexus. even now, when using Go SMS on my S4 i notice when i send a MMS while on wifi i can see the 3G/4G icon turn on just to send the picture then turn off

My MMS is working while WiFi is on, but the MMS doesn't actually use WiFi to send the message, it is sent via the cell/data signal.

the problem may be when using the stock SMS app it may not send over wifi. when you're connected to wifi the phone defaults to sending everything it can via data that can be sent. are you using the stock SMS app?
i just tried to do it with stock SMS and the second i went to attach a photo, it disconnected my wifi to grab 3G/4G to send the photo. once it was done, it jumped back on wifi
Cell tower issue....low signal issue? Dont contact Samsung until you try your phone in other places. Drive...if your old enough down the road like 5 miles...see if the mms goes through. Call Verizon and see if they are having issues with that tower.

I've never been able to send MMS through WIFI. So I always just thought it was something Verizon did to make you use more Data. If anyone knows a way around this. Would love to know as well.

MMS messages never traverse the "internet" which is the reason why A) it cannot be sent/received over WiFi and B) using VZW data cannot be circumvented.
My wife has had the GS4 for a couple of days and ran into this yesterday. She tried sending me a picture but didn't notice that it didn't go. She asked my son if I rec'd the picture and showed him and obviously I didn't so she sent it to him as well. That's when she realized the one to me was still "Sending...". His never went either. When she tried to send to me, she was in a store and probably NOT on WiFi (unless it was "open").
This morning, she asked about it and I told her "turn off WiFi" but that didn't kick it in. I then tried sending her a picture (a trick I learned on the Thunderbolt with AOSP ROMs) - when her phone toggles off WiFi to receive mine, it should also see pending, outgoing messages on hers and send it. Didn't work....
I then used Handcent SMS and chose "Edit" on each message, did NOTHING to them, and hit Send - and they went. WiFi was ON as well. She also sent an MMS moments later that went.
Even if it were a "tower" issue, she should have come along to multiple other towers while out driving.
I uninstalled the caller id app, and that solved this.
Isn't that a system app ? I haven't rooted her phone (yet)...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yes, but it is deletable. My wife's not rooted either.
I cancelled the trial in the app then went to Application Manager and instead of the "Uninstall" button, it was a "Disable" button. I hit it, nothing obvious happened, but the app is gone from the app drawer now.
Still Not working
I have disabled the Caller ID app and still no go. I see the 4G icon pop up when i go to send, then it disappears and the MMS message just sits there, never sends. Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas to solve this?

Yes we know MMS does not utilize the internet via wifi. Yes, we know MMS must travel over your carrier's cellular data connection.
While connected to wifi, with the 4g/3g Icon NOT showing, this issue comes up. You go to send an MMS, the 4g/3g Icon pops up for a short time, say 30 seconds, and then disappears. But the message never sends. If I turn wifi off, MMS then send flawlessly, sitting in the exact same spot I was previously. Signal strength is not an issue, or it would not work without fail when wifi is off in the same location, and then suddenly stop working when Wifi is back on.
A third party SMS app did not mitigate the issue for me. Which has been suggested by some as a solution.
Can anyone provide any additional insight on this issue? VZW tech support is a joke.

Any ideas? Still an ongoing issue. I can not send group mms at all when connected to wifi. I have to disconnect from wifi, copy message text, delete message, paste, and resend with wifi disconnected.
Sometimes if I reboot my phone it will be able to send a MMS over Wifi but eventually it will not be able to...
I'm gonna install a custom touchwiz rom and see if that helps.
