Hi everybody.
I am having problem with any custom rom and the problem seems to be the same for all of them.
I have X10i with 2.1.A.0.435, baseband 2.1.54, xRecovery 0.3
The problem is that I get Force Close for com.android.phone every 5 seconds. When the sim card is not inserted, everything is fine.
I would appreciate any input.
why not just do all the tweaks to a generic 2.1? after you totaly tweak it out its pretty fast install go-launcher can have nicer look.... heres the tutorial i followed im happy with 2.1 now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934486&highlight=speed+up+2.1
I was actually after adobe flash. I do have jit installed and i dont mind 2.1 at all. Its just the flash plugin that it lacks. But thank you

it happened to me because I tried to restore dialer storage(sms/apn/mms) through TB, and the problem was, the dialer.apk was a different version hope this helps

Thanks for the suggestion, but it happens right after i install 2.2. I also tried another rom, cant remember which. Same thing. It happens when i get signal. It shows the bars, then force close, shows no connection. Then everything repeats

I had this problem when I first flashed freex10 beta too. It turns out I was using an old sim card that froyo didnt like (I assume this was a pre-3g sim card) as funny as that sounds but I am also with fido. Try a new sim card.
It must be the sim card. it's probably 6 years old now lol. I do get 3G with phones that actually do support Fido/Roger's 3G band with this sim card, but my phone is actually x10i and I only get EDGE lol. I'm switching to WIND mobile tomorrow though, I'll see if it works with their sim. Thanks for the suggestion.

True, but I'm switching because WIND supports 2100 GHz band and I can get 3G to work with my phone.
OK, I switched to WIND today, and everything works (including 3G)! It was the SIM.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to android. I acquired. A dell streak off Craigslist with froyo v_1.6 by dj steve. Baseband 00-us. Phone works great with no sim card installed and on wifi. With sim card in it freezes randomly to the point I have to take out the battery to get it to turn off or the home menu and back buttons will flash a few times to reboot and then freeze. iv been ripped off and the previous owner will not respond. Can someone help? I can paypal money if needed or if your in the springfield il area I will come to you.

The only thing I have figured out is if I switched the network mode to gsm only it wont freeze. But if its on wcdma and im on hspa the phone freezes everytime. Explanations?

Hey I am having the same problem, how did you fix it? I have a white dell streak with the official 2.2 update. I switched SIM's and it freezes 1 min after start up every singe time.

Don't be bitter for lack of help, sometimes people don't have experience with specific problem or don't have helpful ideas, so they usually don't post a thing. That does not mean that you will not get any help next time...
hi guys, i've been having a problem about my network. sometimes my data isn't working at all but it doesn't really says that it's disconnected to fix it i have to reboot. I tried different roms but my data still drops sometimes like 4 times a day.
so is there any chance that i broked the phone's data antenna even my calls still work? i have the phone for 6 months and this is the first time this has happened. i really don't want to exchange my phone to tmobile but if that's the only way to try then that's what i'll do.

I would suggest getting a new SIM card. In most cases a new sim card will fix that problem. I work for T-Mo and that's usually a good fix. If that doesnt work then try a factory reset. If that doesn't work then warranty. Good luck!!

Just go to a store and ask for a sim replacement. Since its a damaged sim they should just replace it for free.

When you bought your Vibrant, check in the box, there should be 2 sim cards.
i just called t mobile today and they said that my sim card is old which is weird. my sim card came with the phone 6 months ago. is there really a new sim card?
So they said i do need to change my sim card, will my number be changed?

If he upgraded to the vibrant and the rep happened to leave the sim in there then there would be another one. There is typically only one sim per box.Usually if you are an existing customer and you upgrade the rep will take the sim out of the box and keep it.

Nope. Number will stay the same. They just activate the new card with your number and deactivate the old. Yes, they came out with a new version of the sim card a while ago.

oh ok thanks. i really forgot to ask why did they put this sim if it's not compatible with the phone. I didn't know that they have a newer sim card.

Well the one that you have should work fine. But like anything else they occasionally go bad. They updated the sims when they started upgrading the network. Just gives a better connection on 3g/4g.

I am using 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11. I am very happy with this one as it is much improved over stock radio. In downtown I usually get absolutely terrible 3G connection with the stock, but with this radio version I am able to actually get semi-decent 3G.
+1 - 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11 has been working very well for me.

Yep, I have it installed on my spare Aria with 2.2.2
I believe that's the version that's part of the 2.2.2 RUU isn't it?

Probably is. I flashed a different radio and I have noticed poor performance gps wise.
You included a radio image in your thread I believe so I will try that one.

I am using the 35.11 radio too...my 3G coverage has been better, since switching to it, but my GPS has not as good since. It take me 1-2 mins atleast to lock the GPS in Maps every time I try it. It doesn't matter which ROM or fix I try, it locks slower, even consecutive lock with the same ROM.

Hello im kinda new to this so forgive my ignorance...
I just flashed CM7 v7.0.0RC4
just worth mentioning i wiped data reset wiped cache...forgot to wipe dalvik cache
any way flashed over fine and was working great i enabled 2g connection only because i dont have a data plan and dont want one but now my cell connection is kinda wacky it sends texts fine but calls dont work properly (drops them immediately) and signal reception is bad it will randomly drop signal for long periods of time.
Now will flashing a radio image fix this problem or have i don something wrong?
BTW have tried rebooting powering off my phone etc dosent work any ideas?
My Phoenix is not texting it just says sending failed...when I use the 4636 code it says gprs disconnected can that be the problem?

you could try rebooting. im thinking it to be an APN setting that didnt get set when you switched to bmobile. its not linking to your data. if your on a stock rom(thou i dont see any reason it wont work on custom rom) you should call bmobile and see if they have a walk thru. good luck and hope this helps.
I have a sgh-i527m (Bell) which got unlocked. I tried a few custom roms but went back to this stock rom since I wanted full functionability.
Periodically, I would get the "no sim card" error. A simple reboot or re-insertion of the sim card usually fixed this issue but earlier today, It just clunked randomly and no matter what I tried, I could not get my sim to work (Fido). I even went to Fido and got a new SIM, since my sim was so old it wasn't even the LTE sim. And still no luck.
I even tried using the scotch tape Nexus fix, still nothing.
I tried re-flashing stock rom, no luck. Going to try a nandroid backup.
Also, my friend's SIM works fine, which is Rogers but my Fido sim won't work yet my Sim works fine in his phone (unlocked i9500). Ironic, because Fido uses the Rogers network..it makes no sense.
Somebody shed some light please?
Have you tried flashing a different Baseband to see if it improved? I have heard issues that on some networks with Kitkat the software has trouble switching between 2g, 3g and LTE and this causes the sim error because of registration issues on the network.

I never had the sim error on kitkat though, only stock rom.
Anyway i think i figured out the problem. My simtray is broken, pins pushed all the way in.
Bad luck buddy that happens far to easily......you would of thought they would of developed a better system that didn't break so easily!

Yeah, and the simtray is just under the mem card slot. Its one unit, samsung cheaped out on that.
