Okay, I'm on ComRom 2.0 OTB Kernel, no extra voltage control right now. Today the approval for ActiveSync went through for me, and I added it to my phone.
A few things have happened since:
Well, it doesn't sync... Neither Email Calendar nor Contacts(Which I left off to start) sync.
I had pin lock enabled before... it now only prompts me for a pin when my phone starts. Any other time it goes to the SGSII lock screen from the TSM Parts.
I've removed and re-added the info, I do get the prompt for the security settings and accept it. It shows Email as a device administrator.
If I disable then enable the sync in the accounts manually, the Sync icon shows up next to the check box and flickers quickly a few times then goes away.
I'm going to set it up in K9 in a minute and see if that works. My co-worker has a fascinate and is on one of the older superclean roms. We think it was v 2.6 of that.
I use the gmail app for my personal mail and am setting this up inside the stock email app from the ComRom
Any ideas would be welcome. I've been browsing logcat but I can't find anything.
Im on Comm Rom 2 and the PBJ -50 kernel with ec01 radio in a corporate setting. Im working fine with sync and have since DI01.
Ask you sys admin to delete and recreate your ActiveSync account, factory reset your device, flash your setup of choice and try again. set your sync to 3 days on setup and check-mark both SSL requests during the walk through.
Lockscreen for me hasnt worked properly since Eclair, something in all Froyo builds I have tried just doesnt play nice with the device admin forcing a lock. Maybe DL30 forward, but definitely EB01 forward has this problem. I havent gotten an answer here in my inquires as to why and have resorted to using application protection app from the market for privacy.
Ironically, if I leave the email admin in security settings, it doesnt work but thinks it does; If I delete it, mail stops syncing until I re-enable. As long as its on the device your ActiveSync server doesn't care if it is actually working.
Good luck, Id be happy to have an answer to the failed lock issue myself.
I finally got this solved, but the answer was not what I expected. I decided to move back to ComRom from JT's CM7... During the course of the Odin's I booted up into ED01 and on a whim setup the corporate Email. Much to my surprise it worked...
I then flashed ComRom2.0 with PBJ and I got the error again. Opening up the ED01 zip that Adrynalyne uploaded, grabbing the email.apk and doing a bit of ADB to remove the one on ComRom and push the one from ED01. This has allowed me to get my exchange email setup and functioning on my phone.
I haven't had the time to APKtool it and look to see what the differences are.
Oh, and the pin thing I found out too. It sets the MaxInactivityTimeDeviceLock flag, but for some reason this sets it as THE timeout to Pinlock from screen off rather than keeping it as immediate.

Hi,
After an upgrade (No2Chem 3.49 Radio 3.42.40) everything works really great!!! Except, I am having an issue with ActiveSync.
Intermittently, (sometimes every 3 seconds, sometimes every 10 minutes), a blank window covers the whole screen with a title of "ActiveSync" and an "ok" in the upper right corner. If I click ok, the ActiveSync main window appears. I believe everytime this happens, it is resending all of the email in my outbox and the message never gets removed from the outbox even though it is delivered to the recipient.
ActiveSync works fine with PC via USB and for all features besides the email. Also, SMS and Gmail correctly clear the inbox and send only the single email (this is what makes me think it is the ActiveSync).
TIA,
Brian.
I have seen that with the MR1 ROM while ActiveSync is doing its first sync with a large mailbox. (I've got a couple thousand messages from the past month that sync via Exchange.)
I've noticed intermittantly unreliable behavior of the Exchange mail client while it's still cranking away at the initial sync (failing to set message read flags server-side, to be specific).
Regardless, though, things worked fine for me after ActiveSync finished the big initial sync run.
Thanks Skywing,
That doesn't appear to be the case. I only have ~20 emails trying to sync. I did try re-flashing as well as reinstalling AS to no avail.
FYI to all --
I did just come across this thread on MS Mobile support forums...
https://forums.microsoft.com/window...1&siteid=65&sb=0&d=1&at=7&ft=11&tf=0&pageid=0
It appears that this is an issue with Exchange 2007 and WM6.1. It looks like there is a hotfix that needs to be installed on the server side (which I don't have control over). There is a chance this isn't the issue, but it certainly sounds like all of the same symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no apparent client-side fix.

Hello,
I was unsure of which thread category to post this, so I did a couple, Hacking and this ROM, sorry if this is misplaced. Correction and criticism welcomed.
Here is the issue...
Have a AT&T Fuze with the NRG v2.0 41609 ROM. Running MSO2007, specifically Outlook 2007 through Exchange on my company's network. I do not know what Exchange server version we are running.
On occasion, perhaps 1-2 times per day I must completely resync my Fuze contacts, calendar, etc, etc with Outlook 2007. Why? The "server" changed. Sorry, the error message I recently got and have gotten in the past essentially says the data on the server has changed and I must resync all of the data the Fuze. I do not recall the EXACT message. Bottom line though is nothing "changed" at least by me.
Also, under the Settings > Connections there is a "Edit my Proxy setting choice and it auto checks and completes an entry xxxxxxx.com for the server address. I have unchecked, rechecked, etc hoping this helps aovid this regular resync.
Lastly, the resync takes about 90 minutes given all of the contacts, calendar, email and if it did not take so long I would not fret about it.
So why and why might I change to avoid this.
Thanks in advance,
m0

I had the same problem often with my previious phone Motorola Q6h. However, I don't remember how I have dealt with it. Try to syncronize by bluetooth...
This is an old bug. It is across XP, Vista, Vista 64 bit, WM 5.0, 6.1 & 6.5.
There are a couple of alternatives. Most report that using BlueTooth solves the problem. Another option is to use Emoze, but that is not flawless either. My fix is less friendly, but has worked for me 100% of the time. I do this every time I flash a new ROM.
Do the following:
1) Hard Reset - I know, a pain.
2) Set Owner information
3) delete old partnership on PC
4) reboot PC
5) connect phone to PC and select default sync options. After initial sync, with the phone still connected, on the PC go to ActiveSync or WM Device Center and change your sync options to your own liking; 2 weeks of email, notes etc...
6) let it fully sync
7) after it does the second full sync (still first connection) disconnect the phone
8) On the phone, Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC> deselect "enable Faster transfer" or "Advanced Networking" depending on 6.5 or 6.1.
9) >OK - Soft reset
10) after phone comes back to life reconnect to PC and syncing should work fine.
I think the problem has to do with timing on the faster USB transfer rate. The PC is expecting a response and when the phone does not give it fast enough, it throws an error and you get to sync from scratch.
The only downside I have found for not having the faster transfer rate is it takes a bit longer to sync. That is why I like to change to my options (step 5) before I disconnect the first time. The big transfer is faster. After that it is just updates, so speed is not as important.
The only other down side is that if you own a RedFly, it requires the Advanced Connection which screws up your activesync. But the RedFly does not work well with the Touch Pro anyway and not at all with WM 6.5.
Hopefully this will work for you.

90 Mins for a sync? Crap... Do you have a large number of contacts (how many), or calandar items, or email? THe most mine has ever taken is about 2 minutes to do its initial sync OTA, not on a PC.
Are you syncing OTA or connecting to on a PC?
Guys, thanks of the help on the ActiveSync issue. I fashed a new NRG ROM and so far all is ok with thew sync. I do have some other OCD items that I am working on, like all blue highlights, blue / black Tachi phone, getting HTC Blue.task to be blue, EzInput 2.0 FULL (vs. compact) with arrows and blue character key press, etc, etc so so far no AS issues.
As far as how much stuff I have?
1600 contacts
2500 calendar items
100 emails (only Ocutlook IN and OUT boxes)
Again thanks.
If you have nay insight on the other items, please PM or post.
Best,
m0
i found a fix that works almost flawlessly. i get this problem maybe once a week and it's a pain in the ass.
go into activesync settings (when not connected) through your phone. uncheck email (hit yes if it promts you for deleting emails, etc). Re-check, connect, re-sync. That usually does it for me. If not, try syncing after deleting emails and then disconnecting, checking emails again then resyncing.
hope it works for you guys too!!
Running Cronos 1.80 with GB 2.3.3 on it
At random intervals the exchange sync will just stop working. No error messages just no email. This problem occurs both on wifi and normal data. I tried killing the email program in task manager, manually starting the sync, changed the settings on the account from push to polling and back. Nothing worked. Rebooted the phone and everything starts syncing again. Data works fine for other apps too when this is happening so it is an issue with mail only.
I used to get this issue with the non gingerbred cronos ROMs occasionally - maybe once every couple weeks. But now it is happening a couple times a day. Annoying when you don't get an error message you just think you haven't gotten any email. Thinking about just going back to Froyo as it didn't seem to have this issue unless someone can recommend a solution.
Hey.
I also noticed the exact same issue.
But i am on an desire with 2.3.4 (GingerVillian 2.4).
To me it happens every couple of days.
I have to reboot my phone to get it working again
Is there a solution out there?
thx

I'm using Corporate Sync for my work email, coming from an Exchange Server (2003 I think). I can set it up, connect and sync fine for 1-5 days, then I get a connection error and the only way to resolve is to remove the account and add it back in.
Things I have tried:
-upper and lower case for domain name (have read some places that think it is case sensitive)
-checking and unchecking the "verify certificates" box
-factory data reset
-clearing the email app data (from Manage Applications) after I remove the account, before I add it back in
I know there are other people at my company that use Android and iOS devices and they do no have this issue, but no one else that has an Atrix.
Any thoughts? I'm rooted and about to jump on a ROM if there is a sliver of chance GB might help out, but I need my email and calendar to be up to date for work (part job requirement, part me being a little OCD).
Thanks.
So, ever since the OTA to gingerbread, my Atrix will not stay logged into Gtalk. This was my first clue that something was up, so I kept track of the post-OTA issues until I could form a theory. Here is the list of issues:
1) Gtalk won't stay logged in.
2) Push email to the Gmail app is delayed, sometimes by as much as an hour
3) The "Digital Clock Widget" from the market lags behind the phone clock, sometimes as long as a half hour.
4) Incoming MMS's will immediately sever my data connection, whether I'm tethered or browsing on the phone itself. The transmit/receive arrows under the "H" just disappear until the phone has finished receiving the MMS.
All these issues, coupled with the failure of the Haptic feedback and vibration for notifications got me a new (refurbed) device. I was hoping that I would be good to go, but no such luck. Gingerbread was already installed on the replacement unit and Haptic feedback and all that worked, but I still had a problem with constant gtalk logouts, email push, etc.
EDIT: Another noteworthy problem is when logged into Gmail from my notebook or trying to use Gtalk on the tablet while tethered to the Atrix, Gtalk says "connection unavailable" on the tablet and the chat side bar inside of Gmail's browser window says "Oops, you are not logged in as invisible because another device that is logged in does not support invisibility", or something similar to that.
"Fine, I'll get a new SIM", I thought. Again, a bust. Problem no fixied. On to the next idea. I went ahead and dusted off my Craptivate and Odin'd a leaked OEM Gingerbread rom onto it, figuring I could at least see if it was my Google account that was fubar'd or not. So far, so good. For over a week now, Gtalk and Gmail push are operating as designed on the Cappy with no delays and no logouts, and the Digital Clock Widget stays current with the phone clock. I haven't really paid any attention to the data connection/mms issue, as that is a somewhat secondary problem, probably related to the other issues.
So my main theory is, my motoblur account is screwed for some reason, which I don't get, because it was just fine before Gingerbread came along. I tossed out the idea that it was an issue with hardware or software, just based on the fact that both phones are exhibiting exactly the same behavior, minus the issue with Haptic on the replacement phone.
It's driving me crazy using the Craptivate, but the issues on the Atrix are unacceptable to me, so use it I will. I have no desire to sit on the phone with tech support again, unless no solution can be found here. I'd rather chew on broken glass. Anybody have any ideas for me to go with?
Oh, and on an interesting side note, the guy at the AT&T store I went to for the replacement SIM said his Atrix was having the same issue with push on his corporate AT&T email account. At least in that respect, I know I'm not the only one affected.
