Hi There!
I am running Stock Galaxy SII and lately maybe 1-2 times a day my phone switches off. I am not sure why? How can I troubleshoot this? Are logs kept on the device as to the reason for shutdowns?
It happen me too with a stock rom when i tryed to move some applications from the phone memory to the SD (using the setting menu).
What i understood is that if you move appications that was auto installed in the phone memory, the phone itself start to be crazy and do random power off.
Now i flashed a custom rom and reinstalled all applications. I let applications to install automatically in the default memory storage position (sometime is the SD and sometime is the phone memory, it depend if the application itself is designed to work with the Frojo android version or not).
I noticed that now the phone stopped to do random power off so, i presume, the problem is fixed.
Hope this will help you too.

Yesterday when I was playing Pool Rebel online, it crashed once in the first. After a restart, it looks fine and was working properly except a little bit overheat.
Then the phone prompt a low battery warning, so I plugged the charge into it and keep playing, after a few minutes, seems like the charging speed is lower than the power consumption and the phone automatically shutdown. After a few seconds, I switched it on again, and the problem happened.
The phone looks like just been fully wiped and updated the rom, so I tried to install the titanium backup but failed, said there is no enough memory on the phone. I went to the application management and found there is no memory usage gauge on the internal memory tab.
Please help~
Phone: UK Galaxy SII (black 16g)
Rom: MIUI developer version 12.23
Running the newest version, which I've rooted and installed CWM on. I did this today and have had the problem for at least two weeks so it's unrelated. Every time I reboot my phone, (or it dies and I turn it back on) MOST of my apps have disappeared from my front screen. And the apps list in the launcher is reverted back to some default setting. For example, if I place Snapchat and Instagram on my front screen, they will disappear on reboot, but Root Browser doesn't.
What can cause this? I do believe I moved some apps from internal storage to SD card, or the other way around but this was long before I noticed this issue ( I THINK!). Any idea guys?
Hi guys.
I got a Galaxy Nexus long ago so I wasnt using my DS5 anymore.
Now I could give it to my father, BUT:
It still has the error of resetting once in a time.
I shut down the phone, start it again and it is set back to new flash. As if I did a clear data....
Has anybody found out why this is happening? I cannot give this phone away if this continues.
I have a 8 GB internal SD card. Could this be the problem? I simply cloned the 2 GB to the 8 GB and resized the partitions.
ROM is Traveller.
It's not just my ROM, but all Gingerbread ROMs. There is a bug where the Streak may reboot if it isn't actively used.
http://www.dell.com/support/trouble...cles/ArticleView?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&docid=436807
The solution I found is that when you put the Streak down for the night, say to go to sleep, put the Streak into airplane mode and take it off airplane mode when you first go to use it the following day. Note that this bug appears to only occur on WiFi, with mobile data unaffected. Also, reduce the number of widgets you have running, as too many widgets suck up the remaining RAM and will cause spontaneous reboots outside of the bug I just mentioned.
I haven't had a spontaneous reboot in over a month, and currently my mobile data is inactive.
I recently restarted my phone after the battery died, and now everytime it gets to the lock screen, I can unlock it, and it'll function seemingly fine for up to 30 seconds (usually more like 5-10), but then it automatically restarts.
The only apps I've installed since last restarting, maybe a week ago, are FolderSync and Tasker. It's possible I haven't restarted since installing AnyConnect and OpenConnect, although I'm pretty sure I did restart at least once after those, and haven't touched them since. OpenConnect did have some permissions fix item in the settings menu that would supposedly attempt to get it to work on devices where it wouldn't (it didn't work on mine), so that has me suspicious, especially since it seems sometimes these boot loops are related to permissions errors.
I'm running Philz recovery, which I can get into fine. I read about a permissions fix in some recoveries, but Philz (at least mine) doesn't seem to have it.
When the battery died, I was connected to a bluetooth speaker, playing music with Spotify. Not sure if something could have gotten corrupted having it die while the bluetooth connection was active.
It's a T-Mobile S5 and the ROM I'm running XtreSoLite 2.1 Lollipop XXU1BOC7.
Any suggestions for things to check to get it to stop restarting? If I have to wipe it, are there any ways to sort of partially wipe it? Are there a series of things I can try that would go from least extreme (not losing anything) to most extreme (fully re-flashing)? I have been able to open an adb shell and pull everything from internal storage that I don't want to lose.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi,
Something strange happened with my z5c E5823 running stock 7.1.1. Here is the riddle
I got a message the other day, saying space on internal memory is decreasing and the option to transfer stuff to SD card. Since there were almost no pictures and music on the phone, I keep them on SD card, there was the option to transfer about 2GB of Apps. I choose that (big mistake when I think of it now) .
I continued using the phone while the transfer was in progress and @ some point , the phone crashed. That never happened before. Screen froze and stayed like that for around 10 min, completely inactive, and the phone restarted itself alone. After this it all seemed fine until I tried to start the Camera app. It just gave me black screen and some seconds later the message - Camera has stopped/ Restart app.
The front camera and flashlight don't work either.
Another weather app - AcuWeather didn't want to start too, but after reinstalling it it was alright.
There is no such option for the camera app and clearing data and restarting didn't help.
Decided I will do a Factory reset for the first time since I use the device and tried a manual back up of all the info to the SD card. Contacts , personal info and settings backed up successfully , but the process hanged up at 50% when transferring apps. It crashed and stooped. Tried it 2 times !
Since back up wasn't possible I proceeded with the factory reset and after that the phone successfully restored my personal data, without the apps , but the camera didn't work. I did a Software repair with xperia companion with the same result.
Another bug appeared. When I pull down the full notification bar, and want to edit/rearrange the icons/shortcuts and press the little pencil next to the settings(gear) icon, the phone freezes for a few seconds and than the screen turns black. The phone is unusable at that point, thought it works, and receives calls which i can not answer. I only can restart it, because the power button gets me to the window for power off and restart.
Than I read some camera sensors might get disconnected from the board so I opened the phone , but it was alright inside. nothing changed.
Now I got an open phone and no answer or clue whatsoever of how to proceed.
Any ideas are very welcome!
I there a way to reset the phone to an earlier version of android?
Thanks inadvance!
