I know there is threads about this, but I am having troubles, I will be willing to donate $20 to anyone who can help me. I am hoping it will be relatively easy............. I shouldn't have said that.
I loaded a bad framework-res.apk on my phone, and now it won't boot.
I have read DG's thread on recovering from the brick, but I can't figure out how to make it work.
In order to get the framework loaded I used root explorer to copy it over, because I couldn't get ADB to push the file. (I know, if I couldn't get ADB to work why would I muck with it....)
Now the first step in his guide is to boot into fastboot and wait for adb to work, then use superoneclick and hit 'shell root'
well, I can load into fastboot, but adb consistently says "error: device not found" or it doesn't list anything when I check devices. The troubles I was having before with adb were with pushing files, I could still see the device and pull files.
When I did the superoneclick step it ended up freezing the program, and I am not sure what is supposed to happen with fastboot but all it said was starting fastboot protocol support then did nothing.
I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this problem, I do have a backup framework on my computer and on the external sd card in the phone.
One thing I should note is that I did originally boot into the recovery mode, but all i did from there was reboot the phone (and go into fastboot mode).
Please help me! I have learned my lesson.
does the phone turn on
Do you have USB debugging enabled?
If you do, its possible to use adb by selecting Early USB Enumeration from boot menu. If not, you'll need to reflash using an SBF.
Come to my gtalk id texasdude11 and I'll help you out on chat.

from what i gather, it turns on, but won't fully boot into android.
by that token, early USB enumeration will allow ADB to work on the phone usually, but in this case i believe debugging was turned off before his device was bricked. so, he can't boot into full android UI, and also can't use ADB to push the restore files because debugging is off.
i've seen this problem with one person before, but i couldn't find a way to force debugging on without going into the UI, if someone can chime in with a way to turn debugging on without initial ADB access, or UI then this problem is solved and more than one person is helped.
Although - he can just reflash if he's on AT&T, if he's on Bell then he's SOL

Sorry, I obviously suck at giving info.
The phone boots but not past the moto screen, I get the flashing red lights and it reboots. I can get into recovery and fastboot (though I suspect fast boot isn't work right since it freezes almost instantly), I also cant see the device in adb while trying fast boot (or anything else for that matter). I could before it bricked.

I think debugging was on, but I was also in USB data mode (the one above none). And yes, I am the poor Bell SOL'er.

NO IDEA.
Kenneth made me a script that did it all for me all I did was hit the space bar a few times.
Basically the problem seemed to be on this side of the keyboard.....
Moved to Q&A
Please post this script so that we may use this in the future
yes, please post the script toughbax or kenneth so that all can benefit from it, i already bricked and returned one atrix and cant afford to brick another. thanks in advance toughbax and kenneth

The problem is that the script that ken wrote for the OP only restores the framework-res.apk file, and nothing else. If you really need this to recover from soft brick in the first place I'm not sure if you have the ability to edit it the way that is required.

Freaking beautiful. Early USB enumeration was just what I needed to fix my f*ck up.
Ok, so after scanning through the SBF thread and a few others and finding instructions all over the place, I decided to bring them all together in one post. Sorry if I don’t mention everybody that contributed these instructions by name but there were a lot of instructions on how to flash the SBF to our phone. You know who you are and I personally thank you and believe everybody else does also.
To begin, download the necessary files and drivers:
Froyo 2.2.2 SBF File
Gingerbread 2.3.3 SBF File
Gingerbread 2.3.4 SBF File
RSD Lite 5.3.1 and Drivers
RSD Lite 5.4.4
1. Reboot your computer and your phone after downloading and installing everything and before you go to flash the SBF file. Use 7-zip to extract the SBF file...
2. Once you have rebooted your computer, go ahead and start RSD Lite and point it at the SBF file and plug your USB cable into your computer ONLY!
3. Turn your phone off.
4. Turn the phone on by pressing and holding the POWER AND VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see FASTBOOT. Press volume down until you reach RSD and press volume up once.
5. Plug your phone into your computer and wait until you see it in RSD Lite and click Start.
6. Your phone will reboot when the process is complete. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE FROM UNTIL THE COMPUTER UNTIL THE PROCESS IS COMPLETE.
7. If the phone boot loops pull the battery and boot into the stock recovery by pressing and holding power and volume down until the phone says FASTBOOT, once the phone says FASTBOOT, press volume down until you see ANDROID RECOVERY, once you see ANDROID RECOVERY, press BOTH the volume up and the volume down buttons. You will see the familiar triangle with the exclamation point and the Android. At this point press volume up and down simultaneously again and select “wipe data/factory data reset” by pressing the power button.
8. Reboot your phone and you should be back to full factory default, like new out of the box.
If you have any other problem with RSD Lite, try running it as administrator in Win 7/Vista...
Thank you, very helpful and thanks to everyone involved. Let's get this ball Rollin baby!

That is actually a great question Slowz3r.... I would love to know how to open that SBF, but I really have no clue... I will try and see if maybe I can open it in Linux. If anybody around here has any ideas or has already tried this, please let me know...
TIA
I have followed this guide to the letter, even to the point of redownloading both the SBF and the drivers a few times. Even after a reboot, when I plug my phone into the computer it says "Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file"
I've tried it every day for the past 3 and to no avail, always same issue.
Edit: I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of everything, rebooted, and it worked. So I suppose it was an installation error of sorts.
Anyone else notice that to the right under platform it says 4G Tegra? Some also stated that their computer detected a 4G Modem when the phone was in a certain mode.

Yes, I have also seen this in the options before you get to rsd mode... Don't know what that means or why its labelled that way but it is definitely interesting... It would be great to find out what motorola might have to say about this and if that may be why we have been waiting so long for an update!!! I highly doubt it tho, but still nice to think about...

It should work with Win 7 as that is what I am running... The link I have posted for rsd lite is 5.3... Maybe if you run rsd lite as admin??? I didn't have to but that might be a solution....
It Works!!
This is the first Sbf download that worked for me, i noticed that this one was over 700 mb in size. All the other ones were 482 mb. I guess those were just the partial Sbf. Thanks for this, i really needed it!
I had to do a factory reset of my phone the other day. I used RSD5.3.1 and the 482 mb SBF.
I bootlooped initially on the reboot but after doing a battery pull and then going into recovery, everything worked. I did get a couple settings wrong on setting up the phone but fortunately, there is a Verizon store very close by.
All the bloatware that TB had backed up up prior to me uninstalling came back. After the reload, I re-rooted but haven't uninstalled or frozen anything yet.

i think i have bricked mine new P 7500
but there is nothing wrong i did with this device
tab is now in only conecting in APX
NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices
no sign of charging and no light on display
is there any way to recover it back??????????
What exactly did you do? Nothing? You did try to hold the power button for 15 seconds, right?
yes exactly
when no luck in powering on
is this hard bricked on semi??
do i need Jtag for this??????
What did you try to do that caused this problem?
trying rooting
messed up with commands
so my tab is bricked ???????????????
If you really want some help from here, you'd better exactly describe (step by step) what you were doing when things went wrong. Fisrt post you say you did nothing wrong, 6th post you say you messed up commands. I would be jumpy too if my tab was bricked, but your short replies don't add to the possible solution.
a very good answer
thanks
but i have messed up with commands now
not while it was working fine
when nothing happened nothing shown on screen
then i started using commans of those rooting procedure mentioned in devlepment forum for 10.1
all i wanted to reboot it with commands
so i thought may be i have done something wrong with commands
thats why i wrote now that
messed up with commands now
only obove mentioned device is shown on my device manager
thats all happened
Ok, so we have apx mode for stock GT-P7500. I thougt that only was for that Google I/O version. But then you should be able to nvflash a firmmware on to your tab. APX mode is the same as nvflash. Do a search for NVflash on the tab and see if you come up with answers. Good luck
And by the way, whhat kind of rooting process where you doing? you should just download the root zip and flash thru stock recovery
Edit: Heres a link that might help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130574
yes i was trying rooting exactly this procedure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130574
ok i have nvflash command software and stock firmware too
but the problem is, my tab does'nt recognised by odin
then how to flash it
thanks for your help but would you plz tell me how can i flash in apx mode??
Im not sure how its done on Galaxy tab. but in the download package there should be all that is needed for nvflash and you should ad the .img files for system and boot and recovery of the firmware version you want. And there should be a .bat file in the package i think. you should run it from there. But you need to google and collect info about this yourself as i have not done this myself on the Tab. Good Luck

Good luck, go to this place and ask for help. http://tabletroms.com/forums/forum.php#major-devices-android They have very good guys for nvflash on other devices. And as nvflash is something within tegra2 it should be the same rules that apply for our TAB. Check in Asuus Transformer forum.
well i have checked that forum too
and there are only 10 or 15 threads in every section of samsung 10.1
it clearly shows repo of that forum
anyway i have posted there too, thanks for your advise
no one can ??????????
No luck? If i were you i would PM one of the Devs and see if one of them is in a good mood.
Edit: I was thinking, the nvflash mode is nothing to do with Samsung. Its a tegra2 thing so you should be able to follw the guide from Transformer forum. Just put Tab .img files in there. because the one for Transformer(nvflash package) comes with a .bat file that runs the install process. it goes thru all partions and installs all .img files. but you need to chek with the Dev for Transformer so that there is no partion map for Transformer or something in there.
Hello
I am new to both this forum and rooting and I hope that I am writing a thread on the right place. I've been trying to install 2.3.4 gingerbread on my Alcatel One Touch 990, following this tutorial from this forum. After installing the batch file from Pack 2 (install.bat) , my phone got stucked into bootloop. (I would post the link of tutorial but the forum blocks me :/ ).
I can't access recovery neither clockwork mode. Whenever I try to do anything with power button, the phone gets into boot loop. I am not sure but I think that usb debugging is turned on.
Can anybody help me out?
Thank you.

Hello Everyone,
I have a questions and hopefully some one can help me out here. My son has bricked my phone and I believe it is a soft brick... could be wrong. However, I need to find away too unbrick it.
I can get into hard reset with out issues. however with everything I do, I can't get into recovery what's so ever. The phone just hangs at the loading screen. I have talked to my son in order to find out what he did and this is exactly what he told me
He installed king root and attempted to replace-kinguser-with-supersu. However when he installed the application, it asked to reboot the phone. Well he rebooted the phone and now it is stuck at the loading screen and wont go any further than that. He also told me that he did not remove kingroot prior too the reboot. Please help! as I need my phone for work.
I am out of options on what too do. I would post the guide he used but I am limited due too the spamming regulations of the board.
Any one have an idea on how to unsoft brick this phone? I am all out of options as the only two options I have are hard boot and download mode.

According to the good people here on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/qa-metro-pcs-lg-k7-lgms330-t3331678 there is only a paid solution at the moment.
http://lg-firmware-rom.com/download...330-dll-for-lg-up-unbrick-lg-k330-with-lg-up/
if it is a lg k7 k330 (tmo) i followed this guide http://www.repairshopusa.com/phone/lg-k7-k330-unbrick-method/
Thank you for the information. However the lgup application does not recognize my phone. Indicates that the model is "Unknown"
Guess i am out of luck lol
Not uncommon. Sometimes you need to unplug and replug the device back in or close and reopen the program.
Thank you for the information. Does the USB debugging option need to be enabled because if it does, I don't think it is as the my computer does not recognize my device at all. Under computer, it shows as k7. However when I got into the device manager it indicated "LGE Android MTP device".
No. USB Debugging only works while booted into the system or recovery. You must be in Download Mode for the LG Up tool.
At this time, I am really frustrated as nothing is currently working at this time. Possibly because the phone just went under a hard reset. I have changed the port too 41 and ran the flash tool and that was not able too pick up my phone either. Also, I can't seem to get the lgup to work correctly as it's still not working correctly.
I have uninstalled the applications belonging too lg, rebooted and then reinstalled them and I still get the same thing. I have attached screen shots below. lgup does indicate the firmware I need, however I can't get too it lol

If I remember right, you have to make it search for *.kdz otherwise it's looking for .tot files, which is why it's probably not seeing the firmware you need.

Yes you are correct. However the file that I have downloaded from the link below doesn't actually provide you with a kdz file. The file provided you the files that have been extracted from the kdz file, which are the (LGK330.dz) file
Ah, weird. Never worked on an LG that didn't use .tot, .kdz, or .bin files. I guess just search for *.dz and it should load according to the link the other guy put up.
