I can receive that streams using the embedded flash players each page provide, but for that I have to leave the browser open and the screen active.
Is there an app that can receive RTMP streams ?

I replaced my iPhone3G with an Atrix.
I am having trouble finding a good ap for access to custom audio stream URLs. The streams that I would like to connect to are all mp3, some require authentication.
Can anyone suggest an ap?
Thank you.
Try an app called "Astro Player Nova". Select Radio from the menu and enter your custom audio stream URL. There is also an app called "just playlists" in the market. You can create a pls or m3u file with your url and use Just Playlists to listen to these urls.
Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try. A good streaming ap is the only thing I miss about my old iPhone.
Is it possible that Atrix has an issue with streaming audio? I haven't found any apps that will work at all, including the two you mentioned.
Thanks
Well I am sure Atrix can stream audio becuase my audiogalaxy app works. Try xiialive. It can also stream custom urls
I tried xiialive as well as AOnlineRadio. When trying to connect to mp3 streams, both aps (and many others) fail and report "Null"
Streams are known good as I can play them on an iPhone with fStream and many others.
I use "doggcatcher" for all of my podcasts, urls and rss feeds. I went through the same transition when I went from a 3gs to a Captivate last year. Works on my Atrix as well

I tried a website that I used all the time on my old phone to stream music, it sends an asx file. I tried it on my Note which tries to send it to the Video app, but then it fails.
Bump. Has anyone tried an audio stream?
Hi,
I have couple of mms://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx stream links which has some live local streams which i wish to play as per selection in my application.
Please suggest which player shall i use to play mms streams?
Also how can i do an image overlay for a specific period to put in a advertisement.
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance.
Hey all,
I hope this is the correct forum for my query, apologies if it isn't. I had a look before posting but my query is quite unique.
When i play streams through dedicated apps such as Tvcatchup on 4.0.4 (live streaming of UK Freeview channels in a standalone app), streams play flawlessly.
But when I try to play streams within browsers, the video is very jerky (sound is great though).
My next thought was to try and play the network stream directly through a player such as VLC. When I look at the source of the web page containing the embedded player on a streaming site, i get rtmpe:// and http://****.m3u8 links.
Tried to play both via the network stream option in VLC for android (beta) and nothing happens. When I play them on a PC, i get errors. Looking at the playlist.m3u8 file within text editor, it creates a session ID (i am guessing linked to your logon to the website as a way to authenticate users) and tags it onto the end of the .m3u8 URL.
If anyone got previous experience in this area and can offer any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
I have a central video/audio system with multiple zones. I want to send video and/or sound from any app on any Android device (and Windows computer) to the central A/V system. AppleTV is a failure in that regard. I also purchased a Chromecast Audio and Chromecast Ultra but both can send audio from only a few apps.
Is there a solution to send audio to Chromecast (or any other device) from any app without the app having to implement a solution to reroute the audio? If not then why is this not possible (without rooting the device)?
You can use bubbleUpnp or local cast app available on playstore. Local Cast helps you also to cast web videos.
