Yessssssir!
1. This belong in Q&A
2. Which I500 do you have? Fascinate, Mesmerize, or Showcase?

Your thing says ATT so I wouldnt flash anything from a vzw phone.
I have the samsung galaxy s my CDMA carrier is GCI alaska .
I think its the fascinate that is what the sch-i500.004 is?

you might also ask in the mezmerize forums
I think as long as you don't overwrite your original modem file, you can flash whatever you want... But I'd nandroid first.
So I will always be able to go back by doing a nandroid? Should I worry about how I choose to root it?

I would like to know if there is a way to port the jk4 modem from the captivate to the vibrant. I want it because it gives amazing battery. My brother has it on his captivate and it is really great. Thank you in advance.

I imagine it would give you great battery life in a Vibrant as well, but only because at best you'd have no signal, at worst a soft bricked phone. The modem alone won't do any good if there isn't a proper kernel and rom for it.
I don't think I ever seen anyone port a modem/radio neither do I think its possible.

Are you sure because I have seen a rom that says it has KD1 on the vibrant and that modem is made for the vibrant 4g

You can port the rom, but not the modem.
Secondly, modems are phone specific, so porting them between different phone will cause you to brick or cause irreparable damage.

Hello. A friend of mine is wanting me to root his bluegrass cellular Droid x2 and install cm7. I had someone tell me that I need to make sure that it is not for Verizon because it can disable 3g? I'm not sure if this is true but I want to ask. I've only installed roms on GSM devices. Thanks in advance for help =]

Sounds like it may be a Milestone X2. Post your phone info lines and include the kernel ver.

I have a droid x2 with a flashed liberty3 rom and for some reason i don't get any 3G service in the whole state of kentucky...i know they are on bluegrass cellular their...anybody know a fix for this...??
The last time I tried flashing ROMs onto my showcase I couldn't get data to work for the life of me,
But I think I found what I did wrong, I flashed the radio in the pda section in Odin, and I just learned the radio needs to go in the phone section.
So my question is, would flashing the radio in the pda section cause the Showcase not to get a 3g signal?

If it is a .bin file you are safe to flash using phone tab, if it is a .tar file use PDA slot.

The s1_odin_20100512.pit and T959UVJFD .tar. is there anything else I need to flash
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
I've only used Odin so I have no input on the AIO tool, but how long is the Odin flash taking? Is the Re-Parition option checked (should happen by default when you select the PIT)?
It takes about 3 mnts and repartiton is check but when its Donne it just bootloops on the samsung screen

Odin v1.8 is included as part of the toolbox.
Go to the toolbox thread, last post and there is a download of a older version of Odin.
What ROM are/were you coming from?
O try that one 2 and still same result

Coming from stock gingerbread but the phone some how wont connect to the wireless and data so I decide to go back to stock but now it wont turn on :banghead:
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
Are you coming from ICS, or Gingerbread? Did you flash the Gingerbread bootloaders by chance?
You could try to find the Froyo bootloaders, use Odin to flash that, and then try to flash the .pit and JFD files to go back to stock. I don't think that should be the problem, but it couldn't hurt. I know you're trying to get back to stock, but you could try to use fishman's odin image for his rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441976
I've used it before, and can verify it's good to go.
Can you get into recovery? You won't have CWR, but I'm just curious if you can even get to the stock Samsung one (like if you were going to root the phone the old fashioned way).
coming from gingerbread .... and try all that already but at the end when the phone try to reboot it saids that une of the its not recognize ... i dont know if that have any thing to do ... but odin can read my phone
I have to ask... your signature says SGH-I997 (Samsung Infuse 4G). I hope you haven't been trying to flash the Vibrant packages on that all this time, heh.
no i have a infuse and a note but these phones is my friends and im trying to fix it for him but seems like i waont be able to do it the good thing its that i stil can get in download mode
Couldn't hurt to try a different usb port on your pc, I have trouble with my faster port. Works fine when I use the standard port.

Have you tried Heimdall by any chance? It has worked for me before.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278683
Although it shouldn't matter since the flash doesn't touch either of them, maybe try removing the SIM and the external SD temporarily.
I also second ZeroG1's suggestion for Heimdall.
Is it the vibrant 3g (t959) or the 4g (t959v)? They are very different.
