So this is my first time installing a rom to my TB. I have installed many roms on my DX but through clockwork.
First question will i need to flash the new radio through Hboot before or after the rom
Second question will i flash the rom through clockwork or from hboot?
I know how to flash via both methods so any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Ohh and I am rooted S-off already.

Radio through Hboot - Before OR After ROM. I did it before, and it worked fine - I've seen some do after, and it works too.
ROM - you can flash from Clockwork recovery, just like you did with your DX (other method is through Rom Manager, but since you're used to flashing through clockwork, I'd just do that (I came from a DX, too))
awesome thanks for the quick response. Hopefully the rom + radio combo will help with battery.

It should - I've been able to jump back to using the stock battery and get a full day's use out of the phone
FYI. There have been some issues with the radio included with Bamf1.5 causing random resets. If that ends up happening to you, Adrynalyne was kind enough to post up some different radios combos to try and avoid any reboot issues. I myself am running great on the radio that comes with Bamf 1.5, so just be ready for that. Switching and trying the different radios, you'll see, is pretty quick anyway, in case you need to.
yea i had upgraded my stock rooted rom to the newest cdma/lte combo from Adrynalyne and it started rebooting so i went back to the original radio cause I didnt feel like messing with it then. Ill have to grab all the combos before i shut my phone down as long as my 4g stays up long enough.
Thanks again for all your help up running Bamf remix 1.5 on the newest radio

"Please note, this release needs a new radio to complement it.
Put it on sdcard, reboot to hboot and flash."
I flashed the rom just fine, however I'm confused on how to flash the new radio. The new radio zip file is on the SD card....how do I reboot to hboot? Flash it once I'm in hboot? Step by step instructions appreciated.

Power down, press power and volume down at the same time to get into Hboot. Install the PG zip.
Make sure PG05IMG.zip is on root of sdcard
Power Down
Hold Volume Down and Power button at same time.
hboot will come up and check for PG file
Press power up when asked to start update
Radio will flash
After flashed press power to reboot when it says so.
If you have Clockwork installed it might boot to recovery screen afterwards. If it does just hit the home button on reboot now.

Did you flash a Gingerbread radio? That is almost 99% of the time the issue. You can't run 2.0 on stock Froyo radio. If you need help I can help further pm me.
similar issue,
flashed this rom - [ROM][5.25.11] BAMF GingerREMIX v2.0 Beta #5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095280
Install went fine, but phone would not work and sim card not found. You mention gingerbread radio since froyo wont work. Its not listed in that post that a seperate flash is required. Had to reflash back to bamf 1.63 remix to get phone working.
Any help would be appreciated.

It mentions the GB RUU so that means you have to have it. Which btw it's known to brick your phone without warning.
The reason you did not have any data is because you were still using the froyo radio, to run any of the BAMF 2.0's you need the gingerbread radio.
grab the mr2 radio. that will work

This is what it recommends I do
Things to know:
•A FULL WIPE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
•This is a leaked GB RUU, it has bugs, all we can do is try our best to squash them! Flash at your own risk.
I thought the gingerbread radio was also included in the rom(my mistake). From a novice point of view. If I do a full wipe and then install bamf 2.0.
1. What method can be utlized to flash the gingerbread radio?
2. What is the correct gingerbread radio for bamf 2.0?
3. Is there a way to flash bamf 2.0 with the updated radio already included in the rom?
Thanks again in advance.
hey mojo they never found the cause of the few bricks so what you said was false and you flash the radio in hboot read the thread on rooting or the radios it tells you all you need to know how to flash it doesnot matter what order you flash the rom and radio just remember to delet the radio file from your sd card once you flashed it

Radios are seperate. They need to be flashed in the bootloader. Use the MR2 radio as the other radio bricks your phone.

No what you just said was false. Since they don't know where the bricking comes from, it's safe to say that its possibly from that radio. SOOOOOOOO use the MR2 radio instead.
there is no rom with the radio included, put the mr2 on your sd card rename it,reboot the phone and hold the down volume and power button until it brings you into the boot loader it will find the file and ask it u want to update hit the power button wait til its done and reboot

1. manually flash bamf 2.0 from recovery
2. go in to bootloader and flash m42 radio
I should be up and running? Minus any of the known bugs obviously...

yup but make sure before you flash anything you wipe data, cache, dalvik cache. After everything is done throw in a fix permissions just for good measure and you're good to go.

Ok.. I have read through some other posts..
First thing I did was flash the new radio (#1 on "Obligatory Radio thread).. I used hboot after putting the file directly onto the root of my phone..
Then I downloaded 2.1 Bamf.. i preformed the flash in ROM manger.. After all went through I had no service..
I re-hbooted the radio, just for safe measures.. still no service... To make things worse i can''t acess my HD through my computer..
HELP PLEASE!!
I am getting an
"application sync service (in process com.fusonone.android.sync.service) is not responding
and a
HTC DM (in process com.htc.android.omadm.service) is not responding
The Gingerbread BAMF ROMs require the Gingerbread radio. You flashed a Froyo radio instead. Go back and grab the right radio.
I was under the impression the radio I flashed was a GB radio.. it was a link directly from the BAMF thread.. If i am mistaken I am extremly sorry for wasting your time..
What is a correct GB radio?
The newest GB radio can be found here. I'm not sure which version was in the Radio thread, but it was the last one listed.
Thanks..
Although, now when i flash that radio... same thing happens.. No service..
Do I need to do anything special? I am using Hboot to flash it..
I would re-flash the rom and then install the radio again or revert back to your old rom and radio and then redo it. I always flash roms from the clockwork mod recovery screen as I have had issues doing it with rom manager.
And there we goo.. Thank you both VERY MUCH!!
No problem glad i could help!
So... I flashed scrosler's Stock Rooted RUU 3.14, and once that was cleanly on and working I got into amonra and cleared data, flashed Venasaur 3.1, and then in Hboot ran the 3.14 kernel again.
How did I go wrong and what's the simple fix that will get me with the pokemon? ~thanks <3
(I'm getting bootlooped that is)
You flashed an incompatible kernel. Are you s-on or s-off? If s-off just flash the Rom again in amon ra and reboot phone. No need to install a kernel it will do it for you. If s-on you need the kernel for venasaur Rom which may need to be flashed in fastboot unless someone has made it into a flammable zip. If s-on might as well take the plunge and s-off. It's a very easy process.
sent from my Clean Rezound
I am S-on, as soon as I find something condutable and more reliable than a paperclip i'll probably do S-off haha
I don't think anyway has, I just time getting the image boot file off of the rom and running it in H-boot, I still get a bootloop (I'm genuinely surprised that it didn't work), that's a pretty sticky situation, i'm stuck without a phone until that's solved =(
I repeal that statement, taking the boot.img out and flashing it in hboot worked, wonderful! thanks =)
Question for you?..
Now that that you have your Venusaur 3.1 running..are you having any issues with Wifi?
I did the re-lock, android police ruu, unlock, install recovery, clean wipe x10, install venusaur 3.1, and then installed sense4 boot image for the venusaur rom. However I keep getting Wi-fi Errors, I'm guessing my wifi modules are wrong but I'm just trying to figure out where I may have messed up. I tried flashing the wifi modules provided by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642217 but no go...any ideas?
well i'm fairly curious how you were able to get the sense4 boot image, it gave me a mainver error, I took the boot image out of the rom and ran that.
Which got me in, and wifi isn't giving me a problem surprisingly, but I'm now curious to how your supposed to go 3g with the new setting setup.
My Sd card also can't mount I'm not sure if that's related to 3.14 and pokemon rom or just my terrible flashing
Watercycle, are you still having problems? If you flashed Scott's Rom that is not an ruu. I believe you are still o n the old firmware. You will need to go to nilsp business Rom in the development section and download the old firmware patch (i think it's in the 4th post) then flash in amon ra. You should be set after that.
sent from my Clean Rezound
actually I flashed scott's 3.14 deodex and old firmware patch + boot img before flashing the pokemon and pokemon boot img
I'm currently only struggling with the issue of sd card mount now

The patch may still be on your sd card from Scott then and if not go to the thread I suggested. Just boot to recovery and flash the patch again. You will need that patch for any ics Rom you run because you are still on gb firmware. Don't panic your almost there.
sent from my Clean Rezound
how can you tell if your on old gb firmware? =( since it still boots up and works
darnit I thought i was on ics after that full ruu =o
so after having flashed the pokemon in Hboot i flash the old firmware again? (i'm scared it will bootloop me because i finally got it working haha)

I briefly searched the venasaur thread (which you can do to) and found most people having WiFi issues either had the wrong kernel or just reset their router and bam, WiFi works. I can't help you anymore then that so you may want to ask in that thread.
Edit: did you unzip the Rom and get the boot.IMG there or did you download seperate? If you didn't unzip and take it out of the Rom then try that. You should be good.

It will fix your sd card. You never ran the ruu if all you flashed was Scott's rooted, deodexd Rom. If you get with me tomorrow I can walk you through the ruu but I think at that point you might as well s-off. Time to find that wire

Okay...
I re-locked my bootloader using the usual, fastboot oem lock.
then I download the full leaked RUU from Android Police, androidpolice.com/2012/05/07/exclusive-download-htc-rezound-ice-cream-sandwich-build-3-14-605-5-brings-a-handful-of-fixes-and-newer-radios/"
Booted to Hboot with that file on the SD card in the proper name, completely flashed the phone with the Leaked RUU
Once OS loaded, rebooted back to fastboot and used hTcdev.com to unlocked my bootloader again. (I do not have S-Off yet).
Then I downloaded and flashed through fastboot commands the TWRP 2.1.1. Touchscreen recovery.
Once this was done, I downloaded and installed Venusaur 3.1.0 through recovery after performing scot's superwipe x10,
Then fastboot flashed the boot.img for the sense 4.0 roms.
Wi-Fi does not turn on at all...It will state Turning on...but not to long after will give error.
So after all of that I tried grabbing the wifi module.zip from one of the stock rom de-odexed rooted 3.14.605.5 roms, and tried flashing that through recovery and manually adding the file through root explorer..nothing.
Hope that helps clarify.
Also i would through an inquiry to there thread but I don't have enought posts yet to post in development.

Why are you not s-off? Makes life much easier. What I have concluded is that you need to start over. You have the wrong kernel. Wipe everything then flash the Rom in recovery. You will have had to unzip the Rom on your pc then take the boot.IMG out and flash this in fastboot to the phone. I don't think there is a ph.zip file for this. There are very good directions if you search that thread.

Sorry guys but it's bed time. If you both follow those directions you should be fine. If not get with me in the morning.

I feel much safer if I can talk to someone live. Can use whatever program you want to communicate with whether through rezound irc, aim, skype etc.
My setup right now:
- on gingerbread running bamf 1.x (don't remember the version #)
-Amon Ra recovery
-dsb's kernel
I want to s-off and install the venasaur rom. My concerns are:
-firstly s-off
-update to ics hboot
-what do i do about my current kernel? Do I have to get rid of it before updating it to the ics hboot?
-finding a new kernel (recommendation based I guess)
-installing the rom itself (easy)
So I guess the hardest part would be s-offing and the questions on the ics hboot. Any takers? I'll try not to waste much of your time =(
Okay so this process was a lot easier than I anticipated but hows here I did it:
First - s-off. I followed these instructions. Pretty clear cut and got it done on the first try
trickster2369 said:
Excellent. I just achieved s-off on the second try, after drinking since 2 this afternoon on the golf course. Was running the ICS Leak before doing the s-off method. Steps I took, if it helps anyone:
1. Downloaded the proper file for my situation.
2. Unzipped contents, placed the 3 files in the same folder as ADB/Fastboot.
3. Removed sd card I normally use, replaced with original Dinc sd card.
4. With phone booted normally into BAMF Evita 2.0, hooked up USB cable.
5. Went into folder containing s-off files and ran Controlbear as administrator.
6. Watched it do its thing and did the "wire trick" when prompted.
7. Phone rebooted a few times, ultimately booting into the rom I was using.
8. Replaced SD card that I normally use, and wrote this post.
This is what worked for me, your experience may vary.

Secondly - Now that you're s-off you can put on ics roms if you want but however if you're like me and still have GB on your phone, you need to download the ics leaked firmware (which should be 3.14). Download it here:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...5-brings-a-handful-of-fixes-and-newer-radios/
Lastly - Reflash recovery and flash your ics rom.
I hope this helped someone
Glad you figured it out, just wanted to let you know, you don't need to install the whole leak to get the ICS firmware if you're s-off. You can download just the firmware from the thread in the Dev section and just install that then install your ICS rom of choice.
