Hello,
I noticed that the screen of my phone does not turn off when I speak on it so sometime I accidently hang up. I made sure that the proximity sensor in phone setting is on.
when I dial *#0*# and check sensors I get this:
Proximity: Null 0 (0.0.0) sometime (0.0.1)
btw I am on stock KE7 now I came back from Villain 1.1 to see if that fixes the problem and I factory rest many times.
any help ?
Thanks
You dont have a screen protector covering the sensor do you, as some can cause problems.

No I don't
Same problem here
I have the exact same problem, and I wanted to know what did you do, and did you solve it or not?
sounds like a hardware damage.. if you cant live without the sensor(i wouldnt want to ) i would take the warranty claim
I tried flashing it with the oldest and the newest roms on samfirm, and the issue remained with both roms, so i flashed it back to its original ROM and returned the phone today, and i'll wait for a week before getting another (thinking over)

I'm running cherryblur v1.1a and yesterday my phone restarted on its own, since it came back on i've been having massive issues with my touchscreen. it keeps going unresponsive and doing things on its own. has anyone else experienced this issue? If so how did you resolve it. or is my phone in need of being replaced due to a faulty touchscreen?

do a reset and or try to reflash and see if it works if not i would flash to stock and send it in
thats what i'm thinking. i'm gonna d/l and flash cherryblur v1.3 tomorrow and see if that fixes the issue, hopefully it does, otherwise i'll have to flash it back to factory, call and have a replacement sent out via warranty, and hope that i don't get charged for it cause they somehow find out its unlocked.

flash to 1.26 if worst comes to work and say the capacitive touch buttons arent working so they will send u a new one as a hardware malfunction rather than a software issue
that wouldn't technically be a lie, when the screen messes up, the capacitive touch buttons either don't function either or they react as if i'm touching any other part of the screen and not a button
ghost finger problem. I have it too. others have had it. so far the best fix is a replacement. I just took mine half apart and put it back together to see if something is pinched or just straight faulty hardware.
i got my new s2 5 days ago, my proximity sensor worked for day and its now not working, phone sensor test show proximity null ADC 1(0,0,1), and in andro sensor software it shows waiting for event,it came with KE8 for india and i have install stock rom kg3.kg5, solar flare rom, exynos extreme, but none has helped, tried im using stock xxkg3 with CWM mod only coz it has solved my battery and heating problem, and i love this phone it can do anything, can any one help me with a fix plz guys i need help i dnt want to get into replacement hassle as it take time out here and service centre is pathetic. thanks in advance for all your support

I have a problem with a touchscreen. This can be seen that in the lower left corner of the screen, the phone detects a second touch. I put a screen shot of the presentation of how it looks in the test. This occurs on every rom 2.3 +, excluding Glsmt 2.1. When I plug the charger problem disappears. Whoever knows how to fix it?

Hi
someone fix this bug?
My motorola atrix is a problem with the touch after I managed to release "root", you have to play lower down the keys to be hit from above, in addition to the menu buttons do not work, but half of it straight up works best, does anyone have any solution?
Perhaps a better bios reset, or a full format! hardware will be? or software?
Somebody help!

i think u got better chance if u ask in ur device specific forum
This problem is fixed in KPY, i have this one "GT-S5830_XEU_S5830XWKPY-S5830XEUKP1-S5830XWKPA-S5830XWKPY4" and problem is gone.
I have the same problem..
My phone registers random touches in the lower right area, approximately above the middle of the home and back button. I have Indian firmware S5830DDKQ5, and the problem started just after I upgraded to it by official Kies update. Before this, in Froyo, this never happened. I thought maybe it was a hardware problem in my phone or the screen protector was causing it, or maybe something broke due to some fall to the ground, but you have the same problem, originating from 2.3+ roms, so perhaps not. I have not tried any rom except the stock one.
icemanhi, you say it is fixed in XE/XW KPY but KPY would come before KQ5, wouldn't it? I'd like to not go to an older firmware, because we don't know what the changes between them are.

Even when the phone is kept undisturbed on a flat surface untouched it still happens...
icemanhi, you say it is fixed in XE/XW KPY but KPY would come before KQ5 and I don't want to put something other than the stock official firmware. I cannot just keep changing roms either, I don't have time for that..
Please if anyone has a fix then share it.

take your phone to samsung service center and tell them about this problem
But...
I can't make the problem show up on demand.. the people at the service center will say, show me what happens, but it's random, so I can't show it to them. Then they'll say, "the problem is not happening in front of us, so we can't do anything." Still, I'll ask, but would prefer a different solution. Thanks.
KS3 fixes a problem in my case. But after the installation CyanogenMod 7.1, issue returns Any suggestions to fix it?

maybe it will....
i remember that i saw one with 2.3.5 that does not have this problem,
the problem is; the rom with 2.3.5 is for a specific region, so it might not work in your device,
additional informations:
i dont have anything attached to my phone, i did a factory reset to the phone
and there is no apps/games installed.
please confirm that you have this problem or not (please mention your android version)
thanks.

My phone's proximity sensor stopped working, when i restard it works for one or two times and its not working again,
sometimes it is operating normally but about one hour later its stopping again . i was on stock rom and i tried different versions too.
i checked xda before writing this post and i saw one of SG2 owner phones front panel had changed by techical service.
my question is i send the phone to service today, and if there is mechanical problem on my device , they will change it.
So what is yours opinion about it? Is it a hardware or software problem?
Thanks a lot for the answers from now
Is your phone stock?
Have you tried re calibrating?
yes it is and i calibrated 4 or 5 times
any idea about my problem

Either
Have you a case on the phone if so remove it and test as this is the usual sensor culprit .
have you factory reset the phone ??
If not do so and test
Warranty is void if the phone has root or custom rom or rom counter is above zero be aware before returning to service .

thanks i removed the case before testing and yes i did factory reset before trying,
i used jig before giving it to service,
i know something wrong with the proximity sensor but the thing is confusing my mind; the sensor sometimes operates normally, its stopping working about 1 hour later or something like that, i hope the service decide there is problem with it. Otherwise it is a long process (about 3 or 4 weeks). I dont want to hear from service : there is no issue with your phone after waiting 1 mounth.

It looks like a hardware problem. Ask for a replacement, my friend.
i asked for replacement because i know it is the best phone till SG3 but as i mentioned up there i have doubt is service gonna agree with me?
i got my phone from service today, and they told me there is no problem with the sensors they upgraded to new firmware. I checked again the sensors by *#0*# test. The proximity sensor was same. The funny thing is a guy from technical servis said, there is no proximity sensor in this phone, and i asked which function of phone shuts of the screen while i m making calls? he said it is the light sensor.
i think it is gonna take time....
