Hello can some one do benchmark whit this app from android market and post result whit what Rom, OC, other settings that can affect performance:
An3DBenchXL > https://market.android.com/details?id=com.threed.jpct.benchxl&feature=search_result
30092
Did it twice.
Both times within .2% of each other and in line with the results on the app devs website.
Stock K?7 but with hardware encryption of /system.

30510 with KF1 .. rooted and some samsung crap frozen
Emperor's new clothes benchmark section is scoring 58 fps, which means it is hitting the 60fps cap.
Got 30148, with everything running in the background (AVG, Juicedefender, Battery monitor, Widgetlocker, System Panel), no root and no freezing of bloatware.
Thank all for the info

I don't use ATK, try System Panel.. paid app. brilliant.
Starting with android 2.2 the task killers are useless

use AutoKiller memory management. It isn't really a normal task killer but selectively raise the kill priority value (oom) of most apps so the OS kills them sooner. Since it is just an interface for changing values and wont run in the background it wont drain battery or CPU. You can also open the app and manually kill apps if you need to.

I dont bother with any of that stuff anymore.
The 2.2 ROM i am running at the moment does all that for me. Well almost. 2.3 did that even better when i ran that rom by rdanner.

I use 150,200,250 as the last 3 settings and it works perfectly for me. Some people think those values are too high and could cause problems with some widgets but it never changed the values of any widget dependant services for me and I havent had any problem in at least 3-4 months of usage.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
If you got AutoKiller and havent figured it out yet you can press the processes tab at the top to see a list of all running apps, just click one to kill it. This will also show the oom value for each as well as which is the kill priority value. The higher the oom value the higher the priority to kill it when the system needs to recoup ram, the lower the value the less likely it is to be killed. Ive noticed that even with the high values I use, any process or service that relates to the system functions or widgets I have has a value that hasnt changed and remains at 1 or even in the negatives.
Despite what people say I have had instances where I need to kill apps that get hung up (like the browser sometimes and every once in a while a root app gets stuck while verifying permissions) and the OS wont kill it automatically, so I do use it to kill apps occasionally.

Any customer rom can solve battery problem caused by OS? The problem can been seen from the pictures attached(the brightness is at lowest level and Os use cpu for 1h14m), it seems that still do not have a clear solution for this problem. So could I through flashing a customer rom to solve the os problem?
BTW, I am using ke7 now.

try updaring to the newest firmware or set your display brightness low.
mine is at 27% but the battery holds long for me (6h music, web browsing, facebook 24/7, and 10 mimutes playing asphalt 5 HD) if thats your problem...
btw... i'm on lite'ning rom

The "Android System" usage can be reduced by using Titanium Backup and Freezing stock Samsung apps that you don't use / need (ie. Social Hub, una service for Samsung apps, etc).
The Android OS usage issue I don't think there's much we can do about until either Samsung release a 2.3.4 android rom or someone manages to get AOSP CM7 ROM released because apparently it's a known Android bug for dual core phones....
many thx

your usage actually looks pretty normal to me. 13 hours unplugged with 4 hours screen-on time, 22% battery left. not bad at all. i didnt notice what the android OS CPU time was though to make any assessment of that.
I adding some detail u mentioned in the original post, does that help?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Ok well your CPU usage is low which is good and means you font have the issue that some others have. I wouldn't worry too much.
thanks

Is anyone having issues/know how to fix root apps hanging? It only happens with root apps but I open them and they are just a black screen, so I wait and eventually force close. I think all my root apps have done this at least once, but mainly have problems with:
CPU Spy. 8/10 hangs.
Autokiller memory optimizer 2/10 hangs
Set CPU 1/10 hangs
Use about 8 others but they have only done this maybe 1/100 so not too much bother.
Am wondering if its something to do with superuser apk.
CPU spy is really bugging me, any help/advice much appreciated.
Edit: CPU spy works fine once I get it going, until I reboot, then it gives me grief again.

First when you root your x10 you need to restart your x10 before rooting any app.

What is your phone running at the moment, a ROM or SE Firmware? And your baseband, so I can figure out your problem better.
Did you overclock with set cpu, that can mess up things?
Am running wolfs v006 with custom kernel, however these apps used to hang before I installed new kernel. So yeah I use overclock, but only last couple of days and had this problem like forever lol. Same issue on Z's freex10 beta 4.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I have an idea that is a slight idea, how about you reflash the ROM and not put any modifying system apps on the phone and carefully watch which apps you put on the phone.
Did you do a nandroid flash back up to restore your settings in the ROM? Also, did you properly wipe full system, all caches before flashing the ROM? This could of been your issue too.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Yeah I have backups for about 4 different roms so that's no prob. I think its autokiller doing it tho, will uninstall all root apps and try one by one.

If your rooted and have a custom kernel, try "voltage control" app to change governor and scheduler.

Are the games file stored on your sdcard? What class is your card? Maybe your games aren't designed for dual core?
Check your sdcard is not corrupted.

Sounds to me like you're experiencing problems related to Issue 17623 SoundPool HeapDump on DualCore
If that is the case, you've got a few choices:
1). Disable sound effects (not just mute).
2). Use a kernel with 2nd Core support and disable one core.
3). Update to a newer ROM. I first noticed the problem being resolved in the XXKL1 ROM, but it's possible it was resolved prior to that.
Is there an app to view the Real CPU temp on the Note, and not from the batt sensor? I contacted System Tuner devs to find out why the their app does not show CPU temp, and here is the response.
" This means the CPU temperature is* not available on your phone or it's notsupported by the app. Note however that many* apps on Market pretends toprovide CPU temperature while they only provide battery temperature! If you want to check if your phone has such information available, you cansearch the content of the /sys folders and all its subfolders for a filecontaining 'temp' in its name. Note you should use an automated tool forthat, such as EStrong File Explorer."

Try Temp+CPU app. I have pro version, and this allows me set update interval to as low as 1 second.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

I tried the above app, and still no CPU temp reading. I do get batt temp reading(on every app I've tried). I have been reading and come to find out the Note may not have the CPU temp sensor. Can anyone confirm?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
It works perfectly on mine. Its a widget though. Configure it to show reading too, in F or C, whatever you want.
Yes I tried and it shows a static -1c on mine. I wonder if it's kernel related? I read up on the issue and some say it needs to be activated at the kernel level or that the CPU temp diode is just not there.
I'm going to flash a stock kernel and test.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
For me, it worked on stock, on Saurom, and on the latest Solaris prime, with all the kernels they bundled in.
I hope it's not a hardware issue with my note. I'm going to flash a different ROM, and test again.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Ok to test out I just bought the Temp+CPU app on my Infuse as well, and it doesn't show CPU temp either. Both phones show 31°F for CPU temp. Now in widget options when changing both phones to battery temp they work fine.

Iirc both the note and the HP touchpad share similar if not the same processor...and the touchpad also doesn't show the temp. If it gets too hot it will just lock up and reboot. But its never gotten hot w/ overclocking
