Notes-Sample - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Does anyone have a picture of any notes they have taken with the flyer. I'm wondering if I am the only one with poor writing.

Improved a lot after applying a matt screen protector.

Yes. My clear zagg screen protector also has the added benefit of providing just enough pen resistance to improve my handwriting.
HTC Flyer / Tapatalk

Landscape seems to work the best for me... Try a different pen nib also.

HTC Touch HD Mobile Phone Telescope

Hi,
has anybody tried this out already? Any feedback?
Looks quite interessting, will buy it in the next couple of days, I guess.
Best regards
johnpatcher
I've got one made by 3M which I bought off Amazon. It is very fiddly to get on and off and line up with the lens. A clamp spring keeps coming out so can't clamp it onto the phone easily. The position of the lens on the Blackstone is such that the clamp presses onto the volume button and the clamp is not secure on the phone as it has to protrude over the top of the phone above the lens. When I tried to take pictures using the zoom to maximum the result was a picture with a part black round circle around it. You could crop the circle out of the picture but then you are left with a small photo.
I've quickly done something with telescope and without attached for you to assess. It takes a long time to get it lined up correctly because the lens it too high on the Blackstone.
Actually it looks like that Brando one may fit better as it does not have clamps like the one I've got. I see it has a separate back that will work much better than the one I have. Will be interested to hear how you go with it if you get one.
Hm, not really amazing results at all . Have you noticed any better results without any zoom, or is this telescope just good for zooming in?

Many many thanks for the infos....
You just answered all my unanswered questions about this gamepad...
Oredering it soon.....
what a great bunch of add-ons.
I may consider buying it, so I can turn my HD into a professional camera like the Nikon D900 or a Canon EOS.

[Q] Idea about new screen protector.

Hey everyone I just have a quick idea that I wanted to shoot around and see if you all think it is a good idea or not. We have all seen the privacy screen protectors that limit the viewing angle. But what about one that reverses that and actually increases the viewing angle. Possibly solve the only major flaw that I seen that the G Tab has.

Yup, something tells me screen manufacturers have already put a hefty amount of R&D into such a solution and come up empty handed.
remove the polarization filter from the lcd panel and replace (but the manufacturer would've already put the best possible filter for our lcd, stuff is cheap)... decided to somewhat resurrect this and make a PSA - you cannot just remove the polarizing layer and call it a day - you would need to replace it with a film capable of culminating the light and redirecting it in such a fashion that it still allows an image to be displayed proper.
however, the viewing angles of the lcd are what they are and the polarizing layer is created thusly... sort of dead in the water and why nobody pursued this

Apps With Digital Pen after HC Update

Will someone with HTC official HC confirm for me that "PDF Viewer", "Gallery", and "Notes" all work with the pen like they did prior to HC?
I use "Gallery" and "PDF Viewer" a lot at work and if the digital pen no longer works then I won't upgrade.
Tried searching the forums and youtube to no avail.
thanks.

Sketchbook Pro is amazing on the flyer. Pen pressure support = win.
I spent a good while familiarising myself with all the threads about the differences between GB and HC, finally took the plunge and updated to HC. I really needed the stylus to work... And it does! The pen Sense UI is activated by clicking on the hardware button bottom right, which now shows a menu of options to take a screenshot, use notes, or open the pen options menu.
The Flyer feels like it now behaves like it always should have done.

Thanks all. I did update and I love the new pen usage.
Does that mean no more tapping on the screen for instant screenshots? I kinda like that feature...

better pen drawing by cloth
Hi all, I found that if wrap the pen's nipple with a small piece of cloth. it helps a lot better perfomance of the pen. Let's try with this trick and have fun in smooth draw on SBM.
I really have enjoyed the pen but when I changed to a new battery (energizer), I found the pen to be way too sensitive. Draws when you are a couple mm from the screen. Anyone else experience this. I put the old energizer battery back in and all is well.

Sounded interesting so tried it, but it made pen make marks even when not touching the screen; too sensitive, like Ishman mentioned with a fully charged energizer battery. Maybe it's the type of cloth I used, with too much synthetic material in it. What did you use?

I use cleaning glasses cloth. yes if I wrap so tight it will too sensitive. I use the cloth for make more slip (I think the nipple of pen is so rocklike for draw).

[Q] Inking Performance

Anyone having trouble with inking on the Jetstream? I have noticed one area on the screen that consistently produces poor results. Everywhere else is fine, in portrait mode there is one area that stretches across the screen that does not ink well. I have tried Quills, Lecture Notes, Antipaper, among others and the problem is consistent. I have a similar issue with my HTC Flyer. Just one area on the screen does not produce faithful inkinng. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problems.
I also face this problem over a particular part of the screen - but it is mainly with the notes app. Quill does not give me as much as a trouble. Assumed it was because of the scratches on the screen guard that my young cousin made with the scribe pen.. May be some other problem then perhaps..
Is there a palm reject area?

I use Quill which has exceptional palm rejection, but I also tried turning that off and had the same result. I thought the problem was that the tablet could not keep up with the inking, but inking slowly produces the same result in this area of the screen. I tried it with the screen protector on and off, same thing. Also, the screen seems to be in perfect condition. Good news is that the flyer is working better after removing the protector. Was hoping the jestream fix would be as easy by no luck there. Already called HTC so I think I am just going to document and send it in.

It definitely got to be the screen digitizer problem.
I'm currently using the flyer and the problem I face is that sometimes the pen just becomes overly sensitive. All I have to do is Unscrew the battery cover and then screw it back again.
Have a similar problem as well, didn't happen on my flyer.

[Q] Stylus

Just wondering if anyone has tried another stylus with the Pro? I'm thinking of getting the new version of the Bamboo Feel, but haven't heard if it is compatible or not. Are there any thicker styli with erasers, by any chance?
I want to know about this, too

Hi,
I have been using the 8pi stylus with my note 12.2 and it works like a charm. Much better then the twig that comes with the tablet

Can you confirm is this stylus pixel accurate with the Note 12.2? Many times, even though they work, other styluses are off by a few pixels to one side. I'd hate to see someone needing a better pen for serious artwork run into this without knowing about it.
I notice that two of the reviews of that pen list that problem with Galaxy tablets.
Would really appreciate if you could check and let us know for certain.
I checked and the penabled stylus with my old LE1600 Tablet PC works with the 12.2, but of course it has the dreaded 4 pixel shift problem. It's such a rotten shame, because in every way it's a fantastic stylus and feels so comfortable in the hand (and there are tons of penabled Tablet PC styluses that are cheap). It makes the 12.2 feel like a really good drawing tablet compared to so-so with the s-Pen, but that pixel shift means it can't really be used for accurate drawing. It's too much of a difference from where you're pressing and where the line gets drawn to be trusted for serious drawing, but it'll pass for note-taking.
Anyway, please check this out if you can.

Anyone who can advise on stylus accuracy, for those of us who haven't picked up a Pro 12.2, thank you in advance for all specifics you can share!
Hi Guys,
So brief update on the 8pi pen, I have attached some pics that should clarify that the pen works the same as the stock pen. I have had no issues with writing, drawing or otherwise with either pens.

Hello,
Could you please tell me if you can replace the hard white tips with softer black rubber(ish) tips with the 8pi? I marked up my o.g. 10.1 with hard plastic ones(I have a heavy hand when drawing) & i don't wanna have that happen on this tab. Thank you advance.

The pen comes with both hard and soft tips, you can replace them, I personally use hard tips on if I have a screen protector on, otherwise soft tips work nicely

ExtremeRyno, please post your results with the stylus here. And any drawings you care to share. I'm waiting for the ATT LTE version to come out, so I'm curious about what drawing apps you use, how the accuracy feels to you &c.
(On the iPad, I've gotten a lot of good stuff with Sketchbook Pro—but the fat-tipped styluses bite!)

Very satisfied with my purchase. The size is just about the same as a regular ink pen. I'm thinking of putting on a rubber grip on it..just gotta figure out what to do about the button. I guess mark the location with a paint drop.
