So we all know that XDA isn't the most noob friendly forum in the world
XDA as the site description says on the homepage is a site for developers by developers, so its quite natural that noobs will feel out of place here. The RAZR forums in particular are not at all organized. With all the ROM, OTA, ICS leak, fastboot and mod threads floating around its just too much trouble for an average user to figure out even the simplest of tasks. So, I decided to do something about it.
I present to you my blog, aashrey99RAZR. It's my attempt at consolidating all that is relevant to the RAZR on XDA. It went public on 1st March, 2012 and its been steadily growing since then. I've got about 12k+ views till now(I have no clue if that's good or bad) and the response from people has mostly been positive.
Currently my blog covers the following topics
Reviews
Razr Vs. Other popular devices
Rooting
CWM recovery guide
Roms - Original and custom with instructions
Mods - only the ones which i think are of actual importance with instructions
Battery Optimization guide
Disaster Recovery Section
Overclocking/Underclocking guide
[NEW] Must have apps
[NEW] Must have games
[NEW] Matt's RAZR Utility
To be added with eta
FAQs(need help with compilation)
Tips and tricks for non-root users(Need help on this one)
CDMA ROMs for GSM through GSM patch(once the testing is completed in the thread in the dev forums, these ROMs will be added accordingly)
Video Tutorials(June-July)
Current Theme: Nuntius
I'm trying to present everything in an easy and understandable format(hopefully ).

Thanks guys! Cheers!

it's interessting, but...
maybe just don't use foreign word to explain another foreign word
(like 'flashing a rom' in the rom description part)
you know what i mean?
just bring some more professionality but without talk like a pro
PS: need some help?
Actually, as a noob to the razr, I'd like to see a tutorial/"step-by-step" on Matt's utility and why/how its going to make my life easier/great.
Also, some "common problems" with resolutions would be nice as well. Such as "I installed the moto drivers on my computer but when I plug it into USB its not found" type of stuff maybe? Yah know, a FAQ of sorts that you find in other boards on this site but not for the razr for some reason....

im working on that sorta stuff, haven't really had time to browse the forums for the common issues yet. I'm just covering the major parts right now. the FAQs are definitely on my list and so are the common problems.
Nice gonna pass this on to another post in this forum. Might help them.

Lemme know if there's something lacking, I'll try and add it.
Planning on adding a mods section soon.
Meanwhile, any suggestions? FAQs and common issues will come up soon.
Modding section up,
Added un-rooting guide!
Have a look @ Aashrey99RAZR
Yeah, a blog where I don't see any real AUTHOR of the RAZR modules/mods etc.
Also, it is a simple copy and paste of the posts that you can find both here and into the EternityProject Development Forums.
Pointless.

Well I'm sorry to say that not everyone find XDA to be the most easy to use site. I'm just trying to filter the relevant stuff and put it in one place.
As for the copy and paste, I won't sit down and type that much of text simply when its all present there, though I am gonna try to make it more understandable in certain places later.
Also I have credited everyone for their hard work and I'm grateful to the dev community and you for working so hard on the RAZR and bringing us such cool mods and ICS roms.
And as far as authors are concerned, I don't see a reason why anyone would consider writing for a new random blog that just popped in some part of the world.
So please if you wanna help, constructive criticism would be great!
Redesigned the blog. Now in RED and BLACK to better suit the RAZR's looks!
PS: Video tutorials section coming soon! Noobs and starters, you've got a jackpot!
Doing a great job. Really impressed how its evolved. Guess I will have another sire I will have to visit on a daily basis. Keep it up. May have to link the site for people and ofcourse give credit when due.

Matt has all that listed out on his original post for the updated version for 2.3.6
As far as windows not recognizing your device, I would recommend un-installing moto drivers, restarting your comp, then going to moto's dev site and downloading the most recent version (4.83 I think). Once installed, restart comp again, wait til boots up, plug in phone and there ya go. Cycle through all 4 USB connections to have all the drivers installed.

Well, I've got a question.
How many bluetooth devices can I connect to my razr?
Thinking abt to buy a bt set - mouse, keyboard & speaker.
Can razr "hold" all this sh** well at the same time?
Just don't want to waste my money ; )
The infamous battery issue has been addressed! Battery Optimization guide now available!
Check it out people!

When can we use this mod?
- Use beat audio when we need beat headsets? OR we can use Moto headsets with beat audio?
- Same question with XLoud mod?

Hi,
Where to get http://mophoforum.com/Roms/rsdanddrivers.zip ??
Its specified in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216143
I was following qbking's videos and it showed to download file from the above mentioned thread and that link is dead.
Please tell me where to get it.
Thanks.
Check Lokifish Marz's site I think hes got them

I'm very confused. No, seriously, I am completely baffled. Could somebody please explain to me the reasoning behind ignoring a maintained All-in-one guide for threads that are in some cases 6 months out of date?
It's bad enough that many find typing "thanks" so much easier than hitting the thanks button. Toss in the "can't find files anywhere" posts and folks wonder why I get irritated. I'm even seeing "I can't find anything" posts in the Motorola Photon Compendium thread. The posts refer to long dead/abandoned threads elsewhere even though almost everything is linked/indexed in the very first post.
I am thinking the are a lot of new people getting photons cause they are so cheap right now. Plus I am thinking they are a little younger as well

Being a Member of XDA for a while now I recall in the past on different models that XDA use to create sub-forums for Carrier Variants. I.E. Verizon, Sprint, GSM based. This was helpful for the noobs and Rom creators in making sure that Noobs didn't flash the incorrect Rom or Recovery.
Looking at the HTC One Max forums there occasionally is this confusion as members will post a general variant specific issues and a novice not knowing the difference would unintentionally use it thinking it applied to their device. Some Devs don't identify there Roms or indicate a variant which contributes to the issue.
I think it would be very beneficial for development on this device to have Variant based sub forums. Additionally having variant based sub-forums will help identify Underdeveloped devices.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm sure when we get way more than 3 threads in original and 3 in development they will look at dividing the Max forum. Until then we need anyone that posts anything to ensure they identify what model it will work on. I believe most of the development done for us thus far does not identify which model it works for because it works across all (in one form or another).
To be honest most if not all of the issues people have had thus far is because they are not searching and reading to understand something before they do it. I guarantee a dev or someone with knowledge will try to help the best they can. BUT no one wants to help someone that doesn't try to help themselves by understanding what they are doing first.
If anyone notices that some development is device specific and it is not labeled as such then ping the dev and ask that they identify it appropriately. And if anyone feels strongly enough that something is not labeled or mislabeled that could end up causing issues with someone's device then AFTER ASKING THE OP to update feel free to contact one of our mods to correct or close the thread until it is adjusted. Many hands make light work...

I can see the point as well. But it will be a while before the forums are divided if at all. I said "until then" because we all need to work together now to police the threads to make sure things are made clear if they are not.

I know coming from the Motorola Droid HD forums that the impact of not separating them is lots of "Learning Experiences". I am quite learned in the rooting/bootlocker experience and even I was confused by the variants in that forum. I got it sorted out but it took longer then is should have.
I am in the process of learning java and android development and I plan on properly labeling my threads and apps. Oh and Blender for Custom Boot Animations. I have a Plan for A Doctor Who based Animation.
Plus I like tidiness and organization. Makes things more efficient.
How do I tell which version of the One Max I have?
It's one of the 32 gig versions, it's gsm and works on United states ATT. baseband version is 4T,27.3218.14_10.33C.1718.01L Software number says 3.15.1540.1 I think it might be the Hong Kong or British one, but it's been quite confusing trying to figure out which is which. I bought it off Amazon, so I know there's a chance that the software has been "improved' a bit.
Thanks for any help-I did try to search on it, but wasn't finding anything with useful info for me, or possibly I just don't know where to look. It's been some few years since I had an HTC..I bought the original G1 on opening day
Any help, or even just a point in the right direction would be most appreciated. I'd like to get this sucker rooted and get rid of the crapware as soon as possible
I would really like to post this in the appropriate forum but apparently I don't have enough privileges to do so. I to can not get my 4g to work on this ROM, even after applying the, *#*#4636#*#*, fix that is in the OP. There was someone else that posted the same problem in the MIUI forum and the DEV gave a link to download the spyder version. I did that also and still no luck. I would like the DEV to know that that person is not the only one with the issue. I actually can't get any data to transfer over the network even on 3g. I don't know if this is related or not. I was also wandering about a couple of the pop ups right at the beginning of setting up the phone on initial flash. I cannot read the language so I don't know what I am agreeing or not agreeing to. I wanted to know if I could get a clarification on this. Any useful help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Disregard. I found a different download that works great.
So I'm using my HTC One Max today and boom a update notification came through..
I came straight here to see information about it but have not seen anything.
Does anyone have a clue what they updated yet or is it to soon to tell? haha.
I really want to update to a new phone soon, but anything to make this phone's battery last longer is good news.
You may not know but this forum is for development not a Q&A. There are some threads about this already in the General forum. There will not be an official update for the US variant most likely. If it happeneds it will be because it's ported.

I have me and my brother on one max's with unlimited grandfathered. Stock 4.4.2, s-off, and rooted. Today we both get an ota pop up everytime we wake the phone up from sleeping. Annoying. Root explorer only shows the otapkg.zip to be 36mb so i doubt its a big update or anything. I have been working all day without any time to look at it and my bro has no clue what he is using, i just showed him how to turn his hotspot on. haha
Hopefully someone knows an easy way to get rid of this update. I sent a pm to someone else who had helped me with rooting stuff awhile ago when i first got the 2 max's used. (thanks for all your help before if you read this) He hasnt been using a max but recommended flashing stock recovery, flashing update, and redoing superuser and twrp. I cant tell my brother to do all that long distance... hes electronic disabled.... I'm hoping i can rename the update and get it to stop showing up and leave us alone. I think I had done something similar to this with the rezound ota annoyances.
Sorry to respond to this post while its in the wrong section... But I couldn't find anything related to this 07-31-2015 ota from verizon in the general. I do see alot of stuff about international lollipop dropping, but I think this is different.
I knew this was for the Dev section but this affects those of us who are using stock rooted rom's with earlier updates that they received from this very section. So pardon me when I thought this was the place to bring it up.. Thanks for telling me we'd not get the US Variant... Personally I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop. Much prefer the current one. I'm with the previous replier, I'd rather stop the annoyance of the update notification. I haven't downloaded it but it's getting annoying having to see the update every 4 hours.

I just did a multi search engine (including the site search) through out the HTC one max forum for the ota update "3.02.651.8" and got no threads matching my search. The latest official version to be discussed is the 3.02.651.5 which is what I'm on already. If you would be so kind as to point me in the directions of said thread(s) I'd be grateful as I do not see them anywhere.
