[Q] LTE issues, multiple roms/radios Help! - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the mr2 radio a few days ago and decided I would wait till more roms came out based on froyo not, wasn't having the best of luck with the gb variety. But after flashing radios and multiple roms I now barely get my 4g to work. It will connect, sometimes, and when it does it drops off and then back on and repeat. Sometimes data works before it does its things.
I have been an avid flasher of my 2 Android phones and I've tried everything I can think of and find online to fix this. Fixing permissions, flashing a different radio/rom, going back to stock.
Now back on mr2 radio/debloated rom. And still has issues.
Please any help would be appreciated! I'm pulling my hair out.

[Q] Radio question

I'm new to the Thunderbolt world. Previously learned all I know from my old OG Droid. Then relearned all from my Droid X. Now on a tbolt. Learned all about this now. Currently running das bamf 1.6.3 and loving it. Sure would love gingerbread but unsure how daily cm7 is.
Anyway my question is this whole bit about radios. I read thru the radio thread and many others but still unclear as to what/which I should be running. I took a screenshot of my settings/about page that shows my current radio.
I'm not in a 4g area. I have not had a single reboot since i got the phone 13 days ago. Been running bamf since 9 days ago. from what i can tell, I'm on the old radio but thats where i get confused. this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13093559&postcount=1 has different setups and i'm unsure of what one to go with or if it is even necessary to change anything.
Any help would be great. I've been a lurker here for over a year but never needed any help until now. got to get my post count up haha. Thanks guys.

You're on the old radio, if you look in the baseband in the screenshot yours ends in r which is the stock version. The new one ends in w_1.
Im like you, i don't have 4G available to me either. I flashed radios and all i got was reboots. Flashed back to stock radio, reboots stopped, but tethering went to ****. I flashed the 2nd or 3rd radio down on the radio thread, an so far i have not had any reboots. So if its not broke, don't fix it, but if you must try the radios, do it in consecutive order down the list til you find one that works.
I really like the second radio from the top, it seemed to help my GPS lock on faster and I have a better signal. I also had issues of random reboots with the leaked new radio, so far with the second one on that page no reboots and increased performance.
Thanks guys. That's what I figured. Everything is working perfect...gps, calls, even 4G just worked driving thru easton pa. Nice to have everything working but addicted to this stuff lol.
Maybe I'll just leave well enough alone for now. Very happy with the tbolt but would love to see 2.3.3 or .4 with sense. Loving bamf remix but missing gingerbread from my Droid X. Damn phones. Wish I could have multiple haha.

Figures. Soon as I go getting cocky, my gps starts acting up. If I go to Maps, it finds me just about instantly. However if I go to navigation and click maps or driving directions, it says searching for gps. After 2 minutes I just backed out of it. Nuts.
Gps (first time I tried navigation on 1.6.3) worked perfect on 1.6.1. Why would it come up instantly on maps but not nav? Damn. Downloaded all the posted radios. Hoping I didnt have to use any...

Flashed all listed in link. Gps still says searching on every radio. Going with link 1 for now and see how it goes.
The last link in the link I posted is the stock radio/baseband, correct?

I flashed the first radio on the list but it didn't update my LTE radio. Any thoughts why?
Unsure. I'm currently on the radio in link 1. Going great. Unsure of LTE changing. I don't have 4g here so I can't test if and how it works. Not sure how you check which LTE radio I have anyway... sorry I can't be more helpful.

No matter what I do.. the software and build number don't change.
Thanks for the response.
Just got the Gingeritis Rom, which is a 2.1 sense 2.3.4 gingerbread Rom, and getting the radio to work properly was a pain.
Just noticed my 6 bar reception in Bamf changes from white and full at my house to none periodically. Seems like it does out for a second. Maybe time for stock kernel again...

Rooted tbolt puk code?

when I first rooted my tbolt( a month ago ) 3 days later still running stock rom I plugged my phone into my car charger and left it for about 2 hours came out and it had puk code with the pic of the sim. I just went into cwr and wiped everything and restored the backup that I made. The puk code was gone and phone worked fine. My question is, no matter what room froyo or gb my 4g speed sucks. I'm in pittsburgh pa and everyone else has ok speeds. Should I get the sim replaced?

Could be a possible Radio issue. Especially if you're stock.
I'm currently on the newest radio for gb mr2 running candy 3.5.1 and it is just as slow as stock froyo radio on stock

Could definitely be a ymmv kinda situation with your 4g speeds. I am running the PlaneJane ROM with the new MR2 radio as well and honestly I have been experiencing weird things. My facebook app and mail sync seem to be quicker, but things such as youtube and the web browser seem slower. Youtube even cuts out with an error at times and it never used to.
Adrynalyne has this thread that you may find some radios that are a better fit for you and give you better speeds, or some of the other GB roms may have other options as well.
I just would be kinda surprised if your poor speeds are in relation to your sim.
Thanks for the help

Constant rebooting, Help!

Hey guys could anyone help me out, I received a refurbished phone from Verizon 5 days ago and it keeps rebooting. I managed to root my phone using "BAMF GingerREMIX v2.0 Beta #6", Radio: 1.39.00.0430. The most I can use my phone is for about 10 min. unless I leave plugged into a charger. Can anyone help me out???
Are you sure your battery is any good?
Yeah my battery is good, i got a brand new one and its still acting up..
Change the radio to the mr2 radio. Seems the most stable of the gb radios. That might help

This happened to me as well as soon as the screen went off. Rebooted. If I kept playing with it it was fine.
Had to go back to Froyo roms because of it. Happened with MR2 and 2.5 radios.
Sometimes when I mess with the kernel settings a lot this will happen. Try flashing a new kernel or even the same one and see what happens.
Mine has started doing the same thing after receiving refurbished from VZW. My old one never rebooted with same setups. Something quirky going on with it. I can flash back to stock and stops. Its not the rom or kernel i'm using because i have tried all combinations that used to work flawless on old device.

[Q] No 3G; Complete Data Loss.

Hey all! So...after struggling with this problem for a couple weeks, I've finally decided to get some help. I have an HTC Thunderbolt, currently running MIUI-Vicious-ICS-4.0, with 2.6.35.14-imoseyon-5.1.0AOSP+ Kernel. Also, the baseband is 1.48.00.0906w_1,0.01.78.0906w_2.
The problem is that I don't get 3G at all, and often I loose data completely. Very rarely do I have even 3 bars of 1x. WiFi still functions though. I've had this problem on many ROMs (CM7, MIUI, DasBAMF) so I know it isn't the ROM. I'm paying for data every month so it sucks not being able to use it
If you need any more details, feel free to ask. ANY help on this would be VERY appreciated!
Thanks!
Take the phone back to stock, radios and all. If still no data, phone is screwed. But right now, no ics Roms for the tb have data working

So after I go stock everything and it works, can I root again? Because the very first time I had rooted my phone, I flashed CM7 and everything was working fine before I decided to switch ROMs like a mad-man.
I have a nandroid backup that I made right after rooting my phone, it has stock everything. Do you think I should try that to see if it works before messing with anything else?
Yes, you could try your backup.

Trouble updating rom

Hey guys above average noon here,
I've been stuck on an older nightly build of cm 10 for months now. I've tried updating to several different versions of cm, however every time I do update I lose my cell functionality. I will get no bars and the area where the bars would be is not grayed out but black.
This issue has happened every time I've tried updating, so I've always had to nan backup to the one that works. I've been thinking about going back to stock because of this issue. Any help, as I've found none, would be greatly appreciated. If this is in the wrong section then I apologize.
Try flashing a sense rom. Update prl and profile. I'd aalso get a gps lock while there. Then go back to the newest cm.
Also are you on the newest firmware?
