Help Miui Rom was runnning perfectly and then I charged my battery and the phone powered back on. But all of my apps were blank and my sd was corrupted and nothing was being read from the sd. So i flashed stock 2.2 by Eugene and the sd card wont mount and I'm getting a error
"E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/bloc
k/mmcblk0)
(I/O error)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed."
Does anybody know what to do, Stock works but i still cannot use my sd card. This has happened before and I have done the with the Eugene froyo that does not brick as stated above.
if all else fails, odin/heimdall back to stock.

Yeah this is the one i've used. It just keeps rebooting into the recovery 2e with the error code I put in the post above.
I appreciate the help though.
Try reformatting your SD card.

Just tried it did not work, I think it reformatted it but then after a reboot(it would not unmount) it still did not work. I think I'm screwed. The crazy part is this has happened before but I just don't know what I did the first time. I even looked up my google web history lol.
Odin to JFD. That's happened to me with some 2.2 packages.

I have tried this 3 times over before you even suggested it and I still get the black screen with the 4 buttons highlighted. Any suggestions for this, the sd card was perfect with the formatting and everything while booting up. It just hits the black screen right after the Galaxy S sign.
P.S. that link had me laughing so hard.
if that doesnt work, try a usb jig or aio toolbox!

I flashed a rom without voodo lagfix disabled so it messed everything so I reflashed the rom and it worked fine at first, everytime it turned off i had to re-flash a rom, so I decided to odin so it would work nomal and after the odin the phone boots then ges to black screen and only the touch buttons light up. I cant even get into recovery mode, only download. The phone just plays a little circle when trying to boot now. Also before I odined I formated the internal memory through setting-sd.. does that make a difference? Someone please help im terrified its a gonner..
Next time, these types of threads belong in Q&A.
Here's the fix I found in the BIonix thread. You were close by trying to use Odin, but you may want to try it in this order
"Did You Flash Something Before Disabling Voodoo? 2 Fixes to Help You Out.
So you forgot to disable the voodoo lagfix before you flashed a new rom and now you're getting an error, similar to the one posted below. Even Odin won't allow you to flash back to stock. Well, pay close attention and with some luck, you'll be good as rain...or something like that.
Fix 1:
1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
8. Now, pull your battery.
9. Download the 'True stock 2.1 firmware for the vibrant'.
10. Extract the files.
11. Once again, open Odin, plug in your phone, put into download mode.
12. Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
13. THIS TIME you want to check the 're-partition' box.
14. Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine! BAM!
Fix 2: (use only if you know how to use adb commands)
1. Place the 'disable-lagfix' file in your sdk>tools directory
2. Get into clockwork recovery like you normally would
3. Follow these adb commands to push the 'disable-lagfix' file to you sdcard>voodoo
adb push disable-lagfix /sdcard/voodoo
4. File should now be on your sdcard in your voodoo folder.
5. Reboot phone and with luck, you should hear Linda the robot telling you your file system is being converted back to rfs.
6. Because your system directory has already been wiped, you'll still get a black screen when you reboot, but your file system is back to rfs. Just pull the battery, and reflash whatever rom you want. Then reboot again."
Any of the above files can be found in the Vibrant bible thread.

My Vibrant is still beside Samsung ... but I aspect, that they will refuse to repair a Vibrant out of US.... >> no words about this one -- international company and they refuse to fix a broken Mobile, because is not from the local market >> IT'S A MOBILE!!! If I received it broken back ( but must pay for nothing , I need to reached the DL Mode. This is the only one, what I haven't try... (Recovery Mode not reachable) DL-Mode - no luck till now
All you need to do is odin stock and if you get the black screen install the last kernel you were running, this happened to me back when I first got my phone using voodoo ocv4, you didn't brick so no worries.

Please post questions in the Q&A sub-forum instead of the development sub-forum. This thread has been moved.
Thank you
P.S. I hope you get the issues worked out.
Try the following: Get an odin version of voodoo*** (if you can't find one, it's not too hard to create one, let me know if you need help figuring out how to make one), then flash it. Hopefully from there you can get to the recovery, then adb push the disable lagfix file, then reboot the phone with the disable lagfix file in it until it tells you it's completed, then reodin to a working ROM.
***It's important that you odin in a working VOODOO kernel.
Ok i now Odined True 2.1 stock and it works however every time the phone turns off a little circle just keeps spinning there. and i cant do anything i try putting it into recovery but it goes straight to Download mode.
And it also says usb connected when it's not connected to anything..
I had the same issue with Voodoo, I fixed it flashing Eugenes Froyo that doesn't brick then back to Stock 2.1, Worked wonderfully. Its usually the fix for people that Soft Brick from Voodoo.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740558
Do those steps then flash back to Stock 2.1 afterwards with Odin. Hope this helps.
Thanks ill try when I get home. Ive done the froyo to true 2.1 steps and I still can't restart or it screws everything up and I have to re-odin

Yeah for a little it was completely broke. I held volume buttons for like 2 minutes straight and it finally went into download mode. I've just got a rom flashed right now and im too scared to turn it off to see if it will work. Every time I do it, i get the little circle thing like its plugged in but it does nothing. Ill just leave it on till I find a solution.. No matter what thing I odin it doesnt fix the circle of death
Hmm. That's strange. Did you check repartition after flashing back from froyo?

hey all, so i flashed the mind blown kernal and now i cant access my internal sd at all. i can get into CWM (which cant see my sd either) and download mode no problem. I was hoping i could just odin a different compatible kernal and get everything running the way it was. problem is, Odin doesn't see my phone. I've installed all the drivers a couple of times. While in download mode, windows (xp) registers my phone as a gadget serial. While the phone is in recovery, windows sees the phone as android usb composite device. I've tried to get heimdall to see it too and getting absolutely nowhere. I spent about 6hrs on this yesterday. Anyone have any ideas what else i can do to get odin to see my phone?
Just try flashing one of Supercurio's voodoo injected stock kernels with clockworkmod. Should do the trick.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870480
I really need to make a txt file with this...
follow these steps exactly
1. Open odin
2. Remove your battery, SIM and external SD card
3. Plug your phone into the USB on your computer
4. With the battery still out, hold volume up and down as well as power
5. Insert your battery
6. Once your screen blinks once, release the power button
You are now in download mode and Odin will see your phone.
edit:
uninstall those heimdall drivers. They don't place nice with the sammy drivers.
dwa_jeff...try this...with phone off, plug it in to charge it to full(so the battery "filling" shows up). post your results.
edit @ 12:02...doesn't happen does it?

Thats what i want to do, but CWM cant see my internal sd and I cant download anything to it.
On a side note, I made a quick back up while in CWM and am able to restore to it, so im guessing its seeing the internal sd, but cant read any of the old data.. (i had a ton of roms and kernels there. This would have been so easy to fix...)
Hello.
I was about to install Euguene "Froyo that cannot be bricked" and somehow I did not uncheck the "repartition". And then I clicked start. Somewhere in between when ODIN was writing on to the phone, I saw the partition check and as a reflex I removed the USB cable. That was followed by the red Screen, and then Dead.
I have tried to reboot it, put it into download mode, and loads of other combinations. Nothing seems to be working out, I cannot see the battery sign, nor can I see the buttons i.e. no matter what I do, the phone remains dead.
I am in total shock as I had just bought it two weeks ago and apparently experimenting has come to bite me back in the butt cheeks. Please, can anyone guide me in this matter, I am, no kidding, desperate.
Regards,
Shifty
just take the battery off... and put it back on and start from the very beginning... i mean the odin process... then leave it be... best ROM id suggest is bionix-v 1.3...
I believe you should look into a usb jig. try to google team whiskey usb jig -or- edt usb jig. Honestly you should be able to get your phone into download mode with different combinations just don't give up. The jig will make all this easier. Once you do then ODIN to stock and root, flash CwMRecovery, and just flash custom ROMs with CwMRecovery. Personally I never use ODIN untill its ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY and i mean i havent had to ODIN this year yet cuz nandroids are our friends. Good luck!
Try this. Remove battery hold volume up and down plug in micro usb. Should kick you into download mode. If not try it with the battery in. That's how I recovered from a bad soft brick once. There still hope these phones are pretty hard to brick from flashing roms. Its when you mess with the bootloaders is when crap hits the fans.

u wil need to odin back to stock and when u do make sure u check re-partition if ur coming back from cm7! When ur back at stock and u still have the same problem let us know?
if u have problems getting into dl mode from there:
power off phone
pull out battery
turn on odin
attach phone to pc with usb cable
now while holding down both volume buttons put battery back in.
now you should be in download mode and go back to stock with odin from here!
make sure u put the proper .pit and .pda file in there proper places on odin and ur set to go.
Enjoy and also make sure u have the proper samsung drivers
OK i have Tried ODIN.... Is clockwork recovery the same as download mode? and if not what am i missing? :more details: I can mount the internal sd to the computer from clockwork but clockwork wont mount the sd to the phone. I downloaded Kies mini and installed drivers for the vibrant. I have odin and the tar and pit files. i have the android sdk also... any help is greatly needed. Thanks.
turn on odin and hook up ur phone to ur pc with usb cable and then go into download mode. U should see a yellow icon saying com if it is yellow then ur phone has been recognized. Then put the pitfile in pit and the tar file with pda and then click start. Give it like 5 to 10 min and then it will restart and u will be back at stock!
download mode is the android guy with a yellow triangle
to go into download mode:
power off phone
pull out battery
turn on odin
attach phone to pc with usb cable
now while holding down both volume buttons put battery back in.

Were you using GB bootloaders? If not try this to see if we can get you back into stock 2.1 firmware and then go from there...
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.
Tell me if that helped.
