Hi,
I'm new to Android and Galaxy S2. My phone was purchased in Spain from Vodafone.
I have just upgraded my ROM as per Intratech's guide (thanks by the way for the nice gude). The upgrade went good but after upgrae Kies shows the old CSC and says it can't update. Is this expected? I thought the CSC was supposed to change to the generic one.
I used ROM XWKE7 from the guide. After upgrade I get the following:
Doing *#1234#, I get:
PDA: I9100XWKE7
PHONE: I9100XXKE4
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
Doing *#272*<your IMEI>#, I get
ATL
In Kies it shows:
PDA: KE7 / PHONE: KE4 / CSC:KD1(ATL)
- Can someone please clarify?
- I'd also like to know if after this I still have to do something else to unlock the phone to use with a different provider.
- I was hoping to leave the phone as unbranded so future updates will be picked up through Kies.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends upon what CSC flashed their is no generic CSC .

You can downgrade but why upgrade if you are going to downgrade .
CSC is only Country specific network settings they can be entered manually .

I have an unbranded and unlocked S3. My original ROM Firmware was
PDA:LE8 PHONE:LE8 CSC:LE4
My baseband isI9300XXLF2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
I loaded a new ROM
I9300XXALF2
Base Firmware: I9300XXALF2 (4.0.4)
Region Europe
Country: United Kingdom
Carrier: Unbranded
Build Date: 5 June 2012
Modem: XXLF2
CSC: OXALF2
Change List: 671647
My firmware has changed but shouldn't the Baseband change as well? I also was surprised that all of my apps and everything were still there. I thought this would be wiped out on a new ROM. Do I need to worry about the Baseband and what is it? I am also curious because I did all this to get the latest OTA. I still am unable to get it. When I sign up for the software updates should I say UK as my country even tho I am in the USA. Will it matter?
LF2 IS the latest OTA.
can you post a link with your stock rom?
Baseband is Modem and like the CSC it is not always upgraded with each firmware revision .
It is also flash able on its own from the stock roms thread as per instructions .
Likewise CSC and also likewise Kernels .

Hi all,
I've read loads of conflicting information on this so hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I understand that it is fairly simple to change my CSC. Currently I'm on VOD, and the last firmware I received is dated 5 June. Am I right in thinking there has been another update since then, and it just hasn't been pushed out on my CSC?
Also, does changing the CSC cause any problems with the phone or void warranty?
Cheers,
James
CSC change will not void warranty.
Firmware is not reliant on CSC for upgrades alone .
Vodaphone last UK firmware released LF1
Firmware info: PDA: BUALF1| Phone: BULF1 | CSC: VFGALF1
Available in stock rom thread .

Plz tell me how can i debrand my s2, which comes from H3G UK, and i am in Pakistan.
Which unbranded rom will be best for me.
my S2 details,
PDA: I9100XWLPY
Phone: I9100PBVLP7
CSC: I9100H3GLP7
I changed my baseband to BVLP7 previous was NELP4, due to battery and signals issue someone adviced me to changed baseband.
first i tried NELP3 than BVLP7.
I want to flash it . Should i flash it Stock ICS which is for Pakistan, or anyother.
Thanks in advance...
