HTC View 4G Software 1.22.651.1 OTA - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

http://briefmobile.com/htc-view-4g-receives-first-update
It just released today for all the View 4G's

Does it unencrypt the bootloader?
Swyped from my EVO

I'm getting my view 8 am this friday. Until I figure out exactly what's what (bootloader locked/unlocked) I won't even take the update.
I intend on trying to root my view (and hopefully s-off) provided everything I'm hoping for is what it is. Also, unless the details of this update are released it makes it more likely for me to avoid it.

Y is this in here?

If you are currently Rooted, don't take the update, just wait and the Dev's will update their roms with the new OTA. You don't want to lose root.
Doh here is the link in the dev section to the rooted OTA, 2.3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223979
plus it has new HB 1.50 even with ship s-off it shows locked above it
Its android 2.3.4
We do not have this update. you know why?
Because you found 9 month old thread to reply to....why?
We're comin from a pure power source.

[Q] Revolutionary Root for 2.3.4?

There's no root for it yet right?
for 2.3.4 yes for hboot 1.50 that comes if you ota no. look in development section. you will find links you can update everything except the hboot. which will still leave you s-off and then you can flash either stock 2.3.4 rooted or a custom based off of stock 2.3.4 rooted.
knowledge, if you're completely unrooted and your phone is up to date I may be able to help you out with it. Is there any way you could hop on IRC?
The Evo 3D channel is on freenode.net at #htc-evo-3d

Thanks but its not for me. I don't do OTA's. My friend wants to root and I was going to walk him through the process over facebook. He took the OTA and got bumped up to 2.3.4 with the new hboot I presume.
I've never seen a website so confusing in my life.
Have your friend watch this video on how to root after the OTA:

If he took the OTA, you will be.... or he/you can always wait and see if Revolutionary is adapted to work on 1.50.000

[Q] New View - Cannot do HC Update and 1233 error

Just bought a new evo 4g view online (not via sprint), the software info is:
Android Version
2.3.4
HTC Sense Version
2.1
Software Number
1.22.651.1
PRI Version
2.8_003
PRL Version
60679
When I try to update the firmware, profile or PRL it gives 1233 error. When I try to do HTC Software Update it says "There are no updates available for your tablet"
I am only running with WiFi and have no intention of taking 4G data plan from sprint. I also do not have an SD card attached yet.
Is there any way to do OTA update to Honeycomb on this tablet. Or should I try to root and install the ROM, if so, what is the best way to get the stock HC ROM for this tablet. I would rather not root/ROM right now as I am still evaluating the tablet.
Thanks
SK
I went to the Sprint Store and saw another EVO View 4G with HoneyComb loaded on it. Maybe Sprint sends the updates upon activation only.

Any references to this comments? I am asking because, otherwise I will plan to root and load the ROM.

If you wanna root, you don't want the OTA upgrade to HoneyComb.
Go to the View Development forum and learn how to make a rooted HC version.

In that case I will probably wait. I saw Sprint has decided EOL for HTC View 4G.

[RUU] Android 4.0.3 - Build 1.12.651.2

I'm surprised no one has already posted this here on XDA. Here is the link to the shipped-roms upload of the leaked RUU labeled
Code:
RUU_JEWEL_CL_ICS_40_Sprint_WWE_1.12.651.2_Radio_1.02.11.0423_2_NV_SPCS_2.28_003_release_257970_signed2.exe
which was determined to be for the EVO 4G LTE based on hints in the build.prop and other places.
You can get it HERE.
NOTE: This has NOT been tested on a device yet, considering it's not really out yet, so don't run this right away on you new phone on Friday before we investigate it more.
Just took a look at this. shows HBOOT hboot_1.12.0000_signedbyaa.nb0. so lets hope this hboot gets revolutionized by the alpharevx team
Anyone note the file size, close to [email protected]# That's a big RUU!

Yup, pretty dang big! I've put together a stock "rooted" rom w/ Superuser, busybox, and a patched boot.img, uploading now. There will be another thread for this once it uploads to my server.

Well, I just added the su, Superuser.apk, and busybox binaries to the extracted rom and built a new boot.img. That doesn't have anything to do with rooting the device... however, these days "rooting" a device isn't very difficult.

Unfortunately, this RUU won't be the final RUU. The system dump I have is 1.13.651.1, and it does look pretty close to done. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is another update before launch.

Yeah definitely, this build is almost a month old, so I knew there would be more, but I don't have any other system dumps. I figured I'd post this here for anyone who wants to start on something anyways.
This was actually originally posted by Football in his thread on XDA about 3 weeks ago. There wasn't a Evo 4G LTE thread then.
Thanks for posting here!
I was wondering when someone was going to post this
I've been meaning to upload a mirror with just the firmware zip but haven't had good luck finding a reliable place to host it yet.

Something of interest,
The 1.13.651.1 RUU contains (in the rom.zip file) hboot_1.13.0000_signedbyaa.nb0 .
While 1.12.651.2 contains hboot_1.12.0000_signedbyaa.nb0
OTOH, a pic posted earlier with an ENG bootloader had version 1.04.2000
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12623902/ANDROID/IMG_20120510_220841.jpg
So... Perhaps part of the process will be to downgrade first...

Um, that pic is of an EVO 3D .
Those two RUUs are the only ones I've seen for the Jewel so far.
^^Good catch. I came across that in one of the evo lte threads, but didn't pay very close attention. I thought it was from one of the prerelease/demo phones. Disregard
yep, that's a shooter (evo 3d) as versions 1.04.2000 and 1.30.2000 are the two hboots that have been pictured on it
im guessing it shouldnt be that hard to root since bootloader can be unlocked thru HTC DEV

from what i know this update was to fix issues with the Sprint network( hope i am correct). you could take it before you s-off. You may want to check for software info on the rumrunner thread to check if it can be s-offed with the new software version.

I looked @ rum runner they have verzion and a universal methods. It dosent list sprints support for software version.
So it would use universal after a ota.
Are their any sprint Rome?
Yes you can take the ota update and use the universal version
