This has been reported since the release. I have heard some people who did a fresh install of WB's rom don't have this problem, but I can't confirm.

Thats annoying.. quick question so for a att customer who decided to stock and had this problem and took the phone to att what would they do

Are you sure it still does it on a fresh install of 2.1 stock? My problem with texting on bb 65 was on custom rom. I didn't have problems with text on official firmware, just data limited to 3G.

Slow stock Browser 2.1

Ever since the 2.1 update my stock android browser is painfully slow. It hangs when loading pages, and is overall slow. I like the stock browser and wish to continue using it. I have tried to clear the cache often and reset all settings in the browser and nothing helps.
What's the baseband and build number of ur x10?
Did u try clearing history or killing apps before using your phone browser? I know killing apps is controversal.
Tell me this info. And maybe i can help

Baseband 2.1.55
Build 2.1.1.A.0.6
I am using the baseband .54 model with a rom. How did u update? From 1.6 if u did that. U mite want to uses flash tool and do that firmware again or try .54. But first tell me how u updated.

PC Companion. I am on Rogers in Canada.
U mite want to consider doing flash tool from xda website under x10 developement section only cuz u can pick different build numbers if ones dont work for u. I havent heard this issuse before since i started at least looking at these forums since at least december. This rom and firmware stuff work for different people so try it out if u want to go that route. Let me know and i can help u get a link for flashtool of u cant find it.

Thanks ill have a look at that.
How much would having the "enable location" setting checked affect performance?
I tried unchecking it and the browser seems much more responsive.
Hey u mite have found ur solution

flashing anything removes baseband and signal

the other day i DL and flashed CM7 trigger redux. i love everything about it except the stock kernal. when i first flashed the rom everything i flashed after that would take away my baseband and my signal completely, rendering my phone useless unless i connected to a wifi. i then managed to get a kb5 modem for cm7.1, which worked just fine. however i still cannot get a kernal on my phone. i took the cm7 kernals for 2.3.4, including platypus and the nightlys [they are all located in the bible]
im guessing since the 7.1 modem flashed just fine, i need to find a kernal for cm7.1?
are there any in circulation atm? or would the cm website be the best place for these kernals?
i apologize for the noob questions, but i am new to 2.3

what kernel are you flashing?
look for an updated version of the kernel.
If there is not one, don't flash the kernel.

I'm on version 2.3.4 I figured I could flash a kernel updated to that version via the bible. Or is cm7.1 something completely different?

Have you checked your imei #?Go to "about phone "setting.Sometimes it says null with a bad flash. Odin back to 2.1 eclair if so.It happened to me once ..

Yeah my imei number is there. This is crazy, I've never had any problems flashing anything before. Its like my phone won't let me flash any other kernel, but the one that comes with cm7. I can flash cm7.1 modems just fine though

How the hell did you know that kernal was going to work? What makes this kernal different then the others I tried?

There are 3 kernels right now for the vibrant updated enough to work with the latest nightlies. But only glitch and kernel de jour have been updated, and personally glitch seems to be better (plus, I'm running glitch v11 right now and have been following that thread).
I'm pretty sure all the CM7 kernel links in the bible are too old and therefore, you lose your baseband.

Did you ever think that maybe he is not on stock anymore.
@ OP
We don't know yet.
Hopefully soon we will.
Thhanks guys, im on rogers stock 2.1 I was thinkin to root after flashing it might be pointless if im going 2.3. Better keep it stock while I wait.
What did you mean by *unmodified*? Rooting? Or something else?
Sorry for double post, I just downloaded the x10a .435 generic from the flashtool thread, is that the stock unmodified one?
Sorry first android phone lol :$

No, dont use FlashTool. Yous current firmware is just fine. And yes, unmodified=no root, custom rom, etc.

Wow, you want to debate just about that? And DID I say I KNOW he is using an unmodified stock fw?
Btw OP, if you still want to modify your phone, go ahead. But make sure you flash your phone with ROGERS stock fw using FlashTool when the upgrade is rolled out. Still, I am not sure if they block modified X10, but an insider said so and I trust him.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Wait:-o. I can get the update with a rogers branded phone?, I though it was only generic ones
We are still not sure about that. It depends on rogers if they want.

So if I flash the generic one ill be able to upgrade

Phone not recieving text messages

Hi, at least a couple of times a day my phone will not receive text messages that friends have sent me, or they will come through an hour late, could this be a problem with flashing custom ROMs? Or will it be my network. does anyone know a fix for this if custom roms are the problem? Any help is much appreciated. Thankyou

well the first thing i would do in this situation is to check the network issue by putting the same on a diff phone may be a non -android one and see.
if issue persists then its network / sim card for sure the culprit.
if not the case, then i would post this issue on the custom rom ( the one being used on phone) thread so that may be some one have a solution for it there.
It happens on every custom ROM I flash, I change my ROM around once a week. But before I started flashing ROMs I never had this problem. Does the modem affect any of this? Thanks.

Modems are cross compatible. GB modems work on ICS, and ICS modems work on GB.
Just modems though. Don't try with kernels or anything else.
I've had this problem before and it was my modem, not the ROM.
Flash a different modem, and it'll fix it.
thanks guys what modem did u try that fixed it? ive tried XXKI4 and XXKH3 and still have the same problem

Go to your Applications, and click on "Messaging" (or something like that), clear the data. Then flash any modem, wiping cache and dalvik cache before you reboot.
