Ever since I got the phone on the 22nd YouTube videos wont load or take forever! Only way to get 3d YouTube videos to load is thru wifi. Anyone else have these problems?
There was a disclaimer when u first tried to watch a 3d video that u should use 4g or WiFi because the bandwidth needed us higher than a normal low quality vid, but if its all videos being crazy go to application management and clear data for YouTube

Is there a certain place you go to for 3d youtube vids or you just search 3d in the app?
3g, 4g, and wifi today when searching(<- for the guy above) they all stop at like 20 seconds and drag ass.
I didn't get a disclaimer, and the 3D videos I've been finding (which I've found by just searching 3D in youtube) have only taken 3-4 seconds to load and don't buffer at all after that.
I'd like to know if there is something "Special" you guys are doing?
fixed
Thanks guys. Clearing my cache and data fixed my problem only takes a few seconds to load now. Vs. Trying to buffer for 2 straight minutes. And type in yt3d it'll bring up all 3d YouTube clips.
Glad that helped you

As mentioned in the title, youtube HD videos seems to buffer a lot. I have a pretty good internet connection, constantly get around 10 - 12Mbps download speed. I don't have buffering problems on my laptop or my phone.
Anyone else see this and any setting that might help? Currently I'm turning off HD on videos to prevent buffering but ideally don't want to do that.

now I really dont have that problem due to my difference in internet speed but when I use my 4g from my thunderbolt *around that speed* I do notice the buffering problem only if there are more than one person using the connection at once. just for research, try and see what happens if only you are using the connection (turn off or disable other tech) and see if it actually makes a difference
I have to concur, youtube on Android tablets is a bit subpar. It never buffered this much on my iPad.
I get the same problem here, my pc and my phone load quickly while my GT seems to buffer very often while watching HD.

This is a little weird cuz in my house it backwards, my galaxy tab play YouTube flawlessly but my ipad which pretty much belongs to my 3 year old son, seems to buffer often.
SGT 10.1 uplink initiative
Thought it was just me. Mine buffers a lot using the youtube app.
At times it will freeze during playback. I have to uncheck the HD for it to eventually start playing again.
I haven't noticed it as much if I play it through the browser.

The question is does this reveal yet another weakness in tegra 2 or is this a coding issue with the app??
So many videos either buffer go choppy or fc.
Gears of war 3 ashes to ashes trailer by machinima fc every time.
Im almost certain that it is a coding issue. As it was said above, i only notice the buffer problem in the youtube app, it works fine in the browser.

Ok thanks.....i will try using the browser and see if it is better.

it happens using any browser as well. i remember reading about this issue on the ipad too and people had some mixed results by changing DNS settings but i think it was more of a placebo effect. it's definitely a problem with this tablet though.
for me, it's just the YouTube app.. viewing on browser is fine, so it's a coding issue with the app. I suggest using the Feedback option under the app menu to report this issue. Google needs to hear from us about this.
watching it in the browser introduces a different issue, however - everything above 480 is out of sync.
Same here. Seems tobe a problem with the YouTube app. Smooth streaming HD when opened in stock browser but some buffering in app. My browser had no problems with 480 either. Hope google fixes and updates youtube app soon.
In the Youtube app it's either HD playback or grainy. There does not seem to be anything in between.

same here!!
It buffers a lot! I have to wait for 5mins+ for a 3mins video.
Anyone had success with muktitasking youtube app and other app?? I dont actually mind if youtube app could be left behind, but everytime i left it to another app. All the buffer's gone and video buffer was resetted to zero!
Same here...
I've got the same issue, but it only happens sometimes. I've noticed this happens more often when I pause a video, rewind, or when I'm watching a particularly long video (50 min or so). I doubt it's a problem with my network because my PC can stream the video just fine.
Same here, very annoying!
3D content is not displayed in 3D by the Youtube app on my Evo3D. Is there a setting that I haven't found to enable it? I remember when I first got the phone, I was able to watch a 3D video in the Youtube app fine, but not anymore.
I had the same issue and had to do a restart on the phone to get it working again (hold power button, and choose restart). Try that and see if it works.

I'm sorry guys but this may sound funny. I heave a thunderbolt but a female friend of mine wants the EVO 3s, but was wondering if 3s glasses had to be used to see movies and videos in 3d? Sorry and thank-you

Don't download the one in the market place its version 2.1.6, the EVO3d has 2.1.7 installed.
Sometimes YouTube and the HTC Watch app will not show stuff in 3D. There is a weird glitch in the software. What I usually do to fix this is open the Gallery and pull up a 3d video or Still shot you have recorded or one of the samples and then close the gallery and go back to YouTube or Watch and that should fix it.
Can someone snag the apk from their EVO pls? Some fa44got at bestbuy told me to download the one from the market to watch in 3D.
since I'm doped up on Vicoden, I listened and I'm stuck with 2.1.6
Go to settings > application > manage appliactions > select youtube > revert updates. That should get you back to 2.1.7

Does anybody know how to upload 3D videos from the EVO 3D to Youtube? I tried and it's not working. When I upload via the Youtube app and try to view on Youtube, it just shows 2 screens side by side and doesnt show in 3D as it does on the phone.

My best guess is our filetype and youtube aren't friends. But fwiw you could grab the hacked youtube w/download app here on xda, which allows for the downloading and (in theory) uploading of 3d content, well and 2d as well. Haven't tried myself yet. Good luck.
Turn on 3d in the app. In 2d mode it will be side by side. Meaning you uploaded it correctly.

Actually... I just figured it out. Youtube automatically detects it and changes it to 3D. I guess I wasn't patient enough to wait.
Just put up my first 3d video, took a couple tries just like you but worked beautifully. 3rd time is the charm. someone said that
you tube did it all by it self
None of the preinstalled software appears to display updates, and I want to update the YouTube player. However, I have no way of knowing if the YouTube app that comes on the 4D is custom made for it or not, and thus am worried if updating it will result in loss if 3D YouTube playback or it not running on my phone's resolution.
While I'm at it... I noticed that despite the EVO 3D having a 16:9 aspect, YouTube videos.which are 720 or 1080 are cut off from the sides in 3D mode. Is there anything I can smdo about this?
Thanks
Yes, updating to the new YouTube version will still play in 3D. I've tested it, and it works fine.
Yup ^^^

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. 3D videos play fine horizontally but are cut off extremely from the top and bottom, almost half my screen is blank!
Take this video for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U0ZDjnQiXQ
If I play it through YouTube it is heavily cut off from the top and bottom, half my screen is blank. If i play the mp4 file I downloaded from that very same link using flashgot on my pc it plays perfectly and in fullscreen.
I can't find any sort of zoom or crop settings to change this.

With the camera app open, push the A in the top right, first option - slow motion video.
The panoramic shots come out nice too

Noticed this last night after seeing it in a post. I love it! And its actually real slow motion, not just a video slowed down lol

Sure is, except there is limitations on the res. i.e. no HD slow mo. Still cool
Going out to get some landscape shots in the mountains today. Panaorama inc!
I tried this feature inside my house. For some reason when I click record the screen goes a little darker and that's the way the video comes out as well.
Very cool never the less. Maybe ill try it tomorrow outside.

That's the way photography works... Slow motion is more frames per second, which translates to faster shutter speeds which allow less light into the sensor. Hence darker video unless the iso is boosted, then it gets too grainy... Good light will make a big difference...
It makes NO SENSE (no pun) for the phone to not have slow motion HD recording. None. Buddy of mine at work has the Resound, and we record 720p slow motion all the time. Checked the file's resolution, and it is full 720p. Why would a NEWER phone from the same manufacturer with better hardware and newer software... backpedal?
Pop Player (Speed-Control Video Player)
I highly recommend the free Pop Player app. I recently made a couple of reviews on it on YouTube.
This new video player allows the user to utilize speed-control. The slow-motion
and speeded-motion are extremely smooth too and audio syncs perfectly with
the video at any speed. It can definitely be useful for athletes and students.
Some people I know even use it to replay their golf swings in slow-motion
in order to improve their form.
This player plays MP4 files that contain H264 and AC codecs.

Do you have the .apk, because this player is no longer in the Google play store. Disregard, I found it in the play store, I should've looked thoroughly the first time.

Why does a video player need all those permissions? Read phone state and identity, retrieve running apps, kill background processes, discover accounts, market billing service. It may all be legit, but I wasn't taking any chances. Deleted the app without even running it as soon as I saw the permissions. Should have noticed it before installing the app.
