Does anybody know how to upload 3D videos from the EVO 3D to Youtube? I tried and it's not working. When I upload via the Youtube app and try to view on Youtube, it just shows 2 screens side by side and doesnt show in 3D as it does on the phone.

My best guess is our filetype and youtube aren't friends. But fwiw you could grab the hacked youtube w/download app here on xda, which allows for the downloading and (in theory) uploading of 3d content, well and 2d as well. Haven't tried myself yet. Good luck.
Turn on 3d in the app. In 2d mode it will be side by side. Meaning you uploaded it correctly.

Actually... I just figured it out. Youtube automatically detects it and changes it to 3D. I guess I wasn't patient enough to wait.
Just put up my first 3d video, took a couple tries just like you but worked beautifully. 3rd time is the charm. someone said that
you tube did it all by it self

Ever since I got the phone on the 22nd YouTube videos wont load or take forever! Only way to get 3d YouTube videos to load is thru wifi. Anyone else have these problems?
There was a disclaimer when u first tried to watch a 3d video that u should use 4g or WiFi because the bandwidth needed us higher than a normal low quality vid, but if its all videos being crazy go to application management and clear data for YouTube

Is there a certain place you go to for 3d youtube vids or you just search 3d in the app?
3g, 4g, and wifi today when searching(<- for the guy above) they all stop at like 20 seconds and drag ass.
I didn't get a disclaimer, and the 3D videos I've been finding (which I've found by just searching 3D in youtube) have only taken 3-4 seconds to load and don't buffer at all after that.
I'd like to know if there is something "Special" you guys are doing?
fixed
Thanks guys. Clearing my cache and data fixed my problem only takes a few seconds to load now. Vs. Trying to buffer for 2 straight minutes. And type in yt3d it'll bring up all 3d YouTube clips.
Glad that helped you

3D content is not displayed in 3D by the Youtube app on my Evo3D. Is there a setting that I haven't found to enable it? I remember when I first got the phone, I was able to watch a 3D video in the Youtube app fine, but not anymore.
I had the same issue and had to do a restart on the phone to get it working again (hold power button, and choose restart). Try that and see if it works.

I'm sorry guys but this may sound funny. I heave a thunderbolt but a female friend of mine wants the EVO 3s, but was wondering if 3s glasses had to be used to see movies and videos in 3d? Sorry and thank-you

Don't download the one in the market place its version 2.1.6, the EVO3d has 2.1.7 installed.
Sometimes YouTube and the HTC Watch app will not show stuff in 3D. There is a weird glitch in the software. What I usually do to fix this is open the Gallery and pull up a 3d video or Still shot you have recorded or one of the samples and then close the gallery and go back to YouTube or Watch and that should fix it.
Can someone snag the apk from their EVO pls? Some fa44got at bestbuy told me to download the one from the market to watch in 3D.
since I'm doped up on Vicoden, I listened and I'm stuck with 2.1.6
Go to settings > application > manage appliactions > select youtube > revert updates. That should get you back to 2.1.7

None of the preinstalled software appears to display updates, and I want to update the YouTube player. However, I have no way of knowing if the YouTube app that comes on the 4D is custom made for it or not, and thus am worried if updating it will result in loss if 3D YouTube playback or it not running on my phone's resolution.
While I'm at it... I noticed that despite the EVO 3D having a 16:9 aspect, YouTube videos.which are 720 or 1080 are cut off from the sides in 3D mode. Is there anything I can smdo about this?
Thanks
Yes, updating to the new YouTube version will still play in 3D. I've tested it, and it works fine.
Yup ^^^

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. 3D videos play fine horizontally but are cut off extremely from the top and bottom, almost half my screen is blank!
Take this video for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U0ZDjnQiXQ
If I play it through YouTube it is heavily cut off from the top and bottom, half my screen is blank. If i play the mp4 file I downloaded from that very same link using flashgot on my pc it plays perfectly and in fullscreen.
I can't find any sort of zoom or crop settings to change this.

Is there any dev out there that can take a look at this apk and rip out the network player and keep the local player only?
It is like 2 apps in 1, the network player has broken links to copyrighted material, but the local player is clean and possibly better than the built-in Evo 3D video player.
Admins, delete post if you believe that these kinds of questions are again the TOS. I would call it development and OK, but what do I know...

ORIGINAL POST
Saw this in the general forum, thanks to long d.
3DVplayer 2.01 can be found on Google, it plays videos in 3D on the EVO 3D and is said to support at least one new format, that the built in player does not, 3dv.
Tested so far:
EVO 3D vids shot with stock and amaze apps: OK
MP4 from gameloft intro: OK
It has a simple 2d to 3d conversion, puts the 2d vid deeper into the screen, very simple.
It has some sort of support for subtitles.
It also has a separate front end for some Chinese 3d clips, did not stream for me (europe).
Does not work at all, never starts or never logs in to the Chinese servers.
Hilarious Chinese to English interface...
As far as i can Google in Chinese, this is a YouTube 3d clone, with an added local player function.
Cannot find it on Market, but my stock EVO cannot look for Chinese apps anyways.

Running stock EVO 3d, the built in player supports a few 3d formats, 3dvplayer supports more formats. No idea how AOMUISPUIGUIFUJI is helped or affected by that fact.
Just tested an avi file that was in side-by-side 3D HD format.
Does not play in the built-in player.
Plays in 3dvplayer, but in side-by-side 2D format.
The 3D button does not turn on 3D mode and I did not find any other 3D button.
Yeah. Love the player. It was on market but can't find it anymore
I didn't have any luck on the market either but I found it with a Google search!
I use this player, but it cannot stream files from local resourses? such as laptops in my local wifi network it it could in future, this player become a real preasure for our pnones, it allows to view on phones streaming 3d videos of large file size, which impossible to place on sd card! Or, maybe, this player supports local network streaming and i had not found it?
I've taken alot of 3D videos using standard camera app. I think its called 100% side by side or maybe 50% side by side .mp4
I've seen LG phones have the choice to save taken 3D films into normal 2D format in gallery. Why doesnt EVO3D have that option?
Anyway I'm looking either for an android app to do this on the phone itself, or a windows software that can do it.
I asked in another thread and someone suggested stvmkre.exe but doesn't work either, it can't work with the xxx.MP4 films shot by EVO3D...
Any ideas..?
The thread about 3d apps recommends wondershare or handbrake for the PC, maybe you can try those?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140313
Those attempt to convert 2D fiims into 3D, and they dont do a good job at that...
My problem is converting my already 3D films, shot using my EVO3D into 2D to watch normaly on any pc or TV...
Both are video editors that do whatever you set them up to do.
You can always buy Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5
http://www.adobe.com/se/products/premiere.html?promoid=BPCHY
Ulead has some mid range stuff that are good for the price:
http://www.ulead.com/products/runme.htm#video
Magix Movie Edit Pro has 3D support too, for a decent price:
http://www.magix.com/ca/movie-edit-pro/
Happy now?
I was generaly hoping the EVO3D would have this function (like the LG 3D) or maybe an app from market place....for pc something along the lines of "free" software, maybe some open source project....
not if it means having to buy or loan proffesional video editing software...I'd probably need a quad core super pc to spend hours converting smartphone 3D home made films...
Wow you are so picky...
Handbrake posted in the link above is freeware open source.
Wondershare was free, not any more though.
No need for a quad core, 720P on a dual core is fast enough.
Graphics card acceleration helps in the pc apps that support it, beats quad cores if you have a decent 3d card.
How is he being picky for wanting something that honestly should've been on the phone in the first place?
No I don't believe Android or the EVO 3d has any way to crop a video like that.
If you want to do this with Handbrake, what you can do is simply take the width of the image and cut it in half. SBS video is just the two camera images put next to each other.
actualy Im more pissed with HTC for not adressing this missing feature...LG give you the option to save a 3D film as 2D on their phone...why doesnt HTC?
there is an option to save 3D pictures as 2D in Gallery and 3D films can be viewed in 2D but why cant they be saved in 2D as well...
It isn't in there because devs are still human and they are lazy. It's a lot more work to convert video than it is to convert images to 2D.

picky - overly selective(including over small details as well a obvious things)

Posted at least 6 ways to solve the problem, no thank you's, just the same question over and over again.
Here is the 7th way:
Use the share to youtube function, I believe that your 3D movie will be in 3D if youtube is setup to run in 3D, or in 2D if you prefer to watch in 2D for some reason.
Please do not give me the LG can do this crap or that crap.
I hate the ugly LG.

Thanks for the tips and help...Im an EVO3D noobie with high expectations

Thanks for the support, you understand the dilema perfectly
You are welcome, does the YouTube share function mentioned in the previous post cover you needs?
I try convert 3d video to 2d with Wondershare Video Converter:
1-Add files (load 3d video file)
2-Press Edit - Video Edit...
3-Press Pause (to stop automatic playing)
4-Zoom - Full Screen
5-Cropped Area Size 640x720
6-OK
7-Profile HD MP4
8-Press Convert

Will HTC ever have an in-built 3D to 2D video save function, maybe with Android 4?
re:3d video to 2d
3D videos to 2D conversion could be the course of action of transforming to ensure we are able to watch the 2D movies in 3D form on our 3D units or players. And UFUWare 3D video to 2D Converter can help you.
Hmm, I think you could get AVIdemux to help you.
