I'm able to send sms messages with out delay, but I am not receiving any coming in. I am on 2.3.4 rooted, but I had this problem a day or two before the bootloader unlock even leaked. I was running 1.83 and Grey blur 4.5 at the time of sms failure. Anyone else?
*edit* I was running Gingerblur 4.5, not Grey blur. I also tried wiping the dalvic cache and doing a battery pull while the phone was on. Fixed apn settings and nothing.
*edit 2 * I switched my sim card with a friend and switched back. Everything works perfectly now. Taking my card out and putting it back in wasn't enough, apparently.

I've never heard of SMS being a hardware issue, but hear me out.
I received a replacement phone from Verizon and kept it stock for about two weeks. Every now and then people would tell me they got duplicate texts from me so I switched from Handcent to the stock Messages app. I had the same problem even after uninstalling Handcent plus I noticed about half my messages fail. So finally I've had enough, rooted, installed BAMF (1.8 the Froyo radio one). It did the same thing - even before restoring any apps. I even tried Plain Jane v2 and some other basic debloat ROM. All had the same issues...
Any ideas on how to fix this? I did a full wipe between all roms. I also tried deleting all messages and clearing data and cache from the Messages application.
I'm thinking I should just unroot and send it to Verizon for a replacement.
Have you tried other MR1 radios besides the stock radio?
No. I didn't think of that. I'll give that a shot
That seems to have worked! Thanks!
I am running SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 with lean kernel 5.01 set to normal...
Since last Friday I can not receive TXT msgs properly. I was using Chomp SMS and read all the threads that I could find and could not find anything about it.
Pulled battery, rebooted, cleared cache, installed 2 different SMS programs... received 2 TXT messages and then... nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Know of any threads that I have missed?
Thanks...
Did your phone get Unprogrammed? You may need to call in and activate it again. I had that happen to me once when I was flashing roms.
I can still make calls... I can send txt... Could it still be deactivated?
No if you can make calls you are fine. Could be an outage in your area I have had that happen before.
Try reseating the sim card

What Leak is SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 based off of. If it is a GB leak prior to 605.5 there is a known issue.
Some phones will receive some but not all SMS messages. The GB 605.5 leak seems to have corrected the issue.
If SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 is based off an older leak and you love it, extract the message.apk from 605.5 leak and install it on your phone
I was having this problem on a bunch of ROMS until they were updated
The 1.6 is based off the 605.3 so maybe that is what is causing it.. I have tried everything else listed... The Dev is said to update the ROM to the newest 605.5 soon... so I hope that will fix it. If I knew how to extract the message.apk from the new one I would do that too... but sadly I am not that far advanced yet.
Thanks,
I'm having an odd issue that I cannot figure out.
I'm running ICS Passion v12 on my T-Mobile Vibrant. I was on stock 2.2, went back to 2.1 with Odin then flashed CWM. I then wiped (data, cache, dalvic) and installed CM7, wiped again and flashed ICS.
Everything on ICS is working except sending SMS. I can place & receive calls, receive texts, but every time I try to send one I get a "Message Not Sent" notification. I don't have a data plan with the phone but do have unlimited SMS. Does this ROM try to push SMS out through data?
Here is what I've tried. Rebooting, power off & battery pull, wipe and reflashing the ICS ROM multiple times, still no luck. I tried to flash CM7 again to see if I can send messages there but the ICS recovery wouldn't take the zip file. Tried to restore stock and it had an error with the boot image.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?
Update: I entered *#*#4636#*#* in my dialer and went selected Phone Info. Under SMSC it was black. I selected Refresh and am getting a "refresh error" message. Do any of you have something listed there?
Solved Replaced T-Mobile SIM card and I can now send SMS.
Looks like sending picture messages is working, still just having the problems sending SMS.
Are you on simple setting? Go to wireless network and access point and see.

SOLVED
Issue Solved
All I needed was a new T-Mobile SIM card.
Android 2.3 and up uses PDU mode for sending SMS. My old SIM card couldn't handle the upgrade to 4.0.3. It was working on stock because it is only 2.2.
MMS not working
So you were able to send MMS? I upgraded to Passion v12 *BETA* and now I can't send or receive MMS. Everything else works including SMS

Yes MMS always worked, as long as data is turned on. It may be an issue similar to mine where the SIM card is bad. T-mobile just handed me one free and it was a 5 minute phone call to activate it.
Check your APN settings. I had same issue. Google T-Mobile apn settings and compare. This is what mine was missing: MMS Proxy: 261.155.165.050 MMS Port: 8080 Works great now.

Might be a sim card issue. I will try to replace with a new one and then let you know if that was the problem. Thanks!

Alright so it turned out that the MMS app wasn't resizing the photos, so they were being rejected because it was too large. I cropped a photo to test that out and it worked. APN settings are configured too. Anyway, I ended up getting Handcent. Wayyyyy better haha.
Samsung Galaxy S running ICS 12
For some reason all my calls go straight to voice mail with no notification on the handset. This started in ICS version 11 so I upped to V12 and all was good, that is until I ran Titanium back up and restored my settings. I've reinstalled ICS 4 times now checking fewer and fewer items to be restored but it still happens.
I can't find the voice mail setting that would allow me to change this feature/bug so a heads up there would help. Just exactly which box to leave unchecked in Titanium would also be a great help.
Also, does changing to the GB boot loader change the boot time?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
Jon
My solution has been to only restore apps and manually configure the rest. It's a nuisance to have lost all my text history but that and contacts were the only thing I was trying to restore. Contacts are backed up to the sim card so no real loss. Once I have it dialed in, I'm going to make another back up. Don't really know what else to do.
Hey all,
Recently, in the last 2 weeks, I've been having an odd data problem on my nexus 5 (4.4.2)
Where my data icon is orange, instead of white, yet I have full working internet access.
However, things like WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, won't sync until I get WiFi, but yet, I can send and receive messages?
I've tried rebooting, the airplane mode trick, full factory reset, and new APN settings.
I'm on T-Mobile/EE UK. PAYG. Been with them a week-ish.
I was on orange/ee before, and that stopped working entirely, but that was orange, not my phone, cos apparently my number didn't exist. Lol
I deleted all my apns and put them all back again, which fixed it for about 5 seconds, now its back orange again!
WiFi works perfectly.
I get an error when trying to sync Google sound search. But everything else works fine.
Any idea what it could be?
APNs? Phone, or network?
