Exchanging 3vo, any tests I should do? - HTC EVO 3D

I have dust under the screen and my replacement is coming in the mail Tuesday. Anything I should try on it before I return it?
P.s. download dead pixel finder. It helps locate dead pixels, or dust under the screen.

I think I'm crazy... because now that I'm looking again, I don't see it... haha. I don't know how that happened either, but my friend (who has a sensation with the same problem) was the one who noticed it.

Out of curiosity what kind of case do you have, and where exactly is it bent?
Wipe off your hands when you get done spanking it. It will help you keep a grip on the phone.
Ouch man....as far as what you should do..I vote you go stand in the corner for a few hours because you dont appreciate nice things jk lol. Sucks though.....

Best suggestion, send it to me. I'll fix it ;-)

Isn't much you can do except contact CS and say the sprint store dropped it and put a dent in it. Then say you didn't notice it till now, see what they say.

Trying to get a perfectly innocent employee in trouble for his mistake? Besides I'm still waiting to hear what case it was in.
I'll put money on no case at all.
Sorry to hear about your phone man, I can only imagine what you feel like right now.
Buy the insurance or live with the consequences.

Go to Best Buy, get an Otterbox Defender case and, never take it off. That way you won't have to see that eyesore of a dent everyday.

Super fail. You have butter fingers.
Get a TPU case
when siedio makes that rugged case like i used for the evo 4G, you can drop the phone from about 2 stories with no worries

I say let your EVO rock it out as a battle scar! It will make other phones piss themselves, such as the iPhone! Haha

Just get it swapped out for another one. Guess it depends on where you purchased it, but I would go in..maybe towards the end of the day, or at a busy period, try to find the most chill looking employee who won't put your phone through a 160 point inspection, smile and hope they do not notice.
If that fails, and if it bothers you that much, add on the insurance.

[Q] Is my TB warranty worthy?

My accelerometer and proximity sensor are broken and im planning on sending the phone in since it is still under its one year warranty. However, a couple of days ago my nephew got a hold of it and dropped it from about two feet up on to some concrete
the crack is just at 5mm, and i really dont want to pay for a new phone if i send this one in, so i guess i am looking for some piece of mind. also, the back kickstand has normal wear-and-tear and nothing traumatic has happened. Should i be in the clear to send it in for a CLNR phone?
i have to post a couple more times to link to pictures, but what have you guys gotten away with damage wise when returning it?

Post a screenshot of your crack. When I sent mine in for a warranty replacement, there were a couple of scratches on the body of the phone.
They never said a word.

Wow. Your kickstand would be okay. That crack is pretty beastly. Idk. If it were me, I'd make a warranty claim or maybe try and plead your case BEFORE you send it back.
I know that's not the answer you want but its my opinion.

okay, so here is why i start scheming.
would some touch up paint work?
Idk man. I mean from what I can tell that's pretty cracked. It'd be easier to make the insurance claim and tell them you lost it.

Dust Under the Screen

Has anyone got dust under their Amaze yet?
I have dust under mine and I'm wondering if there was any way (easy or not) to get it out. I emailed Wind and checked if maybe they could do something about it since I'm still under warranty, but if my warranty is one use only then I'll save it for when it's actually something more important.

Yeah, I had it on the first one I had, couple days ago. I got mine exchanged for other reasons but this one did not come with dusts under the screen new. But it did come with this strong women perfume scent, because they replaced mine with open boxed one. I hope this goes away soon, because.my palms always smells like a girl now...

try alcohol wipes, and wipe everywhere, back cover etc. Most of the smell will be gone.
Unless of course you're starting to like it

Very tough job, you have to pull it apart. the glass is glued to the case/bezel around it

In case you didn't know, I meant dust...
I've taken my Droid Incredible apart, to replace both speakers.
Why would the bezel be in the way of the back of the screen?
I have to take the bezel off to get to the front of the camera?
I think I'll learn to ignore the dust, maybe in a year I'll see, but this is too new to me...

The only way to fix that issue is to disassemble the phone and replace the front camera. Then make sure you tighten it enough so that dust can't get in. Hit thanks if that helps.

Keep your n10 away from ants

I woke up this morning and there is a damn ant walking under my screen, it better doesn't die in a visible place, I'll try using sugar to lure it out, but anyways keep your device away from these damn ****s.
Edit: OK guys for now I think that I managed to crush it under one of the corners by applying pressure as soon as it left the screen, but you wouldn't want to wake up to a dead ant in the middle of your screen.
Wow. Thanks for the heads up. I just moved my n10 away from my ant farm.
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
How is this possible? I'm pretty sure that the screen area needs to be airtight to prevent buildup of dust. Does your screen have dust under it?
If an ant got in then that must mean that it is not airtight.
Hahaha xda ftw

God ****ing damn it, the damn ant was hiding and I come back to find it dead in the middle of my screen.
And no, there isn't any dust under the screen, I don't know how this POS got in there.
Spoon pics!!!! I wanna see a pic!!!!
Don't laugh, in December I thought "damn that's bad, I don't think that will happen to me" when I saw a similar thread and now look at this...
And if Samsung doesn't want to cover it I can use my back flex as an excuse to force them to do so... Right?
How do I contact Google?
If you ordered from the Play Store you can start there..855-836-3987.
Good luck, I hope this gets resolved... I'm thinking about carrying a stick of Grant Kills Ants in my N10 bag...

How else? Do they have an email for these things? I'm not in the US so calling is troublesome.
Here's section to email Google Play Support. I'd imagine you would choose the last option, general technical support question.
Sorry forgot the link and had to wait 5 minutes to edit: http://support.google.com/googleplay/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=2715807&page=ts.cs
When I dealt with them, the email I would always reply to was [email protected]

It's pretty sad that the gorilla glass isn't optically bonded like many other devices (MS Surface etc.), it's just a glass that's approx 1mm above the LCD screen (just air), if you press the glass you will see the glass touching the LCD

Lmao
This thread is hilarious but I would like to just say that I had one of these in my LCD monitor and squashed it in the middle of the screen much to my dismay. Anyway I don't think they're ants but maybe Thrips. And it seems to be a common problem; see http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=bugs+in+lcd+screen.
It's an ant, I've seen them (the same kind) wandering around my house or when I leave something with sugar in a random place.
Your Nexus has a screen "bug" . lol

Phone got scratched

I just got my phone 8 days ago and last night I dropped it without a case on and scratched up the front corners. It's it possible to get it exchanged at AT&T? If so how?

how bad is it, you can always claim something else is wrong with it. Where did you buy it from?
It's very small. I was able to kind of hide the clear aluminum showing with a black marker. I also just noticed I have 3 dead pixels so maybe that would be enough if they don't really notice the scrapes. I got it from an official AT&T store.

It's sad how many people commit Fraud
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Personally I dropped mine and it got scuffed a little too, so much that it bothered me. I was within 14 when it fell so I took it back and told them that it was to fragile along the edges, got way to hot (130°) which I screenshot and the headphone jack doesn't work well with FM radio and he said no problem and replaced it and that was that. It was fraud on my end, and I paid good money for a phone that I wanted to keep in mint condition. Haven't dropped the second one yet but I have gaps, which isn't too bad. My advise, go for it and it isnt fraud of there is actually a problem with it anyway.

I ended up trading it in and getting a silver one. I was completely straight with the rep and showed him the scratches which he thought was no big deal and were barely even noticeable. I had to point out the scratch locations since he couldn't even see them at first. I showed him the dead pixels and also the power button which had this awful click sound which drove me crazy. I just had to pay a restocking fee and was good to go.
