Capacitative Key* Screen Timeout Warning - HTC EVO 3D

Got the E3D on launch date and I love every single thing about it. The only thing im waiting for now is root, but thats another thread & story.(BUMP, ROOTZ, I GOTZ THAT) Right before your screen gets ready to shut off, all the soft keys at the bottom would flicker letting you know that the timeout is about 3 to five seconds to hitting zero and shutting off completly. Tapping the screen right after the first flicker will cause the soft keys to flicker again letting you know you restarted the screen timeout to whatever setting you have it set to (15 secs, 30 secs, etc). I noticed this last night while reading a long article about a docter talking about 3D and the affects on the human eye. Dont worry, no damage from long term use, but reading long stories in the dark is where i see it coming in handy the most.

Random non-responsiveness moments?

this is random but, the touchscreen stops responding occasionally
specifically when i'm playing Mario Kart and holding the A button in for extended periods of time (n64oid)
it's not even when the system is hot it's really peculiar
actually now that i think about it this has happened a few times when i was on my homescreen as well where the touchscreen decided to stop responding yet if i pushed the buttons it still operated
anyone else seen this?
i was hoping it was ram related because i just used bloat freezer and cleaned up the ram nicely
The original X2 i had did this extremely often right out of the box (activation was a PITA)... as in it would work for 5-10 seconds (30 if i was lucky) and the touchscreen would "freeze" while all buttons and everything else were working as normal. Power button to make screen go off/on fixed it, but it would just happen 10 seconds later. Idk how bad yours is but if it is common enough see about a replacement (or hope OTA comes soon and fixes it for ya)
I'm Not Sure What It's Related To, Because I Can't Replicate It To A Certain Time Or Point Sometimes When Opening An App It Doesn't Recognize I Tapped The Icon Or When Texting Sometimes It Doesn't Know I Was Touching The Screen. Could Be Just Another Bug In The Software Which We Hope In The Future Will Be Resolved.
Its got the same feature as the atrix if one screen is pressed for more than 20secs in the same spot the screen turns off. Motorola claims to do this to protect against water damage

[Q] MT4G screen(?) issue

Posting here after MANY hours of searching various forums.
I have a rooted s-off mytouch 4g, with Dark Unicorn JellyBean installed (4.1.1, I hope I remember the names right).
A few weeks ago it got wet. Worked great for two days after and then seemed to die. Would only go to the white HBoot screen, buttons didn't respond. Left it turned off several days, trying once in a while, and just as I was about to go sell it for parts - magic! came back to life. after 24 hours of regular and rather heavy use, suddenly the screen faded out. Double pressing the power button brought it back up, but after 2 minutes it faded again, then after one minute, and gradually got to the point where I can wake it up but it fades within a second and goes black. The phone is still on, I can answer calls, and if I double press the power button, for a second I can see my home screen, can unlock it, if I press the volume up I hear the sound it makes when it hits max volume, touching the screen at the right places produces the vibration of touching keys, etc...
When I take the battery out and put it back in, it turns on and at the beginning the screen is bright and clear, with the mytouch screen looking good. Then it goes to the screen with the wheel turning around the unicorn, still bright and crisp, but after 10-15 seconds, still with the unicorn, the screen fades to black again, and as described above can only be brought up for fractions of a second.
I'll be sooooooooooooo grateful to whomever can help with this.
Thanks,
Roy
Bouncing, please help
Stuck here, would be very grateful I'f anyone could help

[Q] Screen quickly auto-dims and shuts off

I've had my T-Mobile HTC One for about two weeks now. Maybe 4-5 days ago it started to auto-dim the screen very quickly (after only a few seconds) and then a few seconds later it shuts it off, and I have to unlock it. This has gotten highly annoying. Under the display settings I have auto brightness off, and the auto sleep turned off as well (currently set to 15 seconds). Is this a software issues, or possibly faulty sensors?
I also have a couple other minor gripes with the hardware, namely the sleep/wake button is slightly depressed on the right side meaning it takes more effort if I push it on that side. I can push the left side no problem. This makes me nervous as I'm afraid this button may get stuck and it's the only way to turn the screen on/off since this phone lacks a "home" button like the GS3/4. I'm thinking more and more that I may need to just get a replacement, but I don't want a refurb. Any input would be appreciated.

[Q] More like tap 5 times to wake?

Hi guys, just a quickie,
So I've enabled double tap to wake on my Z2, but sometimes it takes up to 10 taps for the device to wake up. Can a screen protector make the difference here? Or is it normal?
I notice the same thing sometimes. What I find is if the phone goes into a deep sleep (screen doesn't turn on for say 10 mins), it takes more than 2 taps to wake it a lot of the time. But if you turn the screen off, and tap twice within a few seconds, it works most of the time. Just my observations though.
Tapping a little bit harder works most of the time for me
Yeah it's the problem with deep sleep. I saw the same thing on many other devices. HTC One m8 and LG G2 Mini for example. Most of the time it's triple tap to wake
I found out that I was tapping way too quick.
Try tapping really slow, like once per second, and it almost works every time.
But it sucks because it is slow because of that, going to the power button is faster....
I usually just tap the screen until it turns on, but messes my PIN up good to know that it's not only my screen that's cold hearted to these poor little taps though

Black Screen

I have run into these issues several times. They seem to be related, but I can't say for sure.
Every now and then while I'm actively using the phone, 1/2 the screen will go away and the phone will be unresponsive. If I shut off the screen, then turn it back on, it usually clears up. Sometimes the screen won't come back on. It stays off no matter what buttons I press. So I put it on the charger, that triggers the screen turning on and everything is back to normal (the battery is always over 50% or more at this point). Yesterday this got to a point of happening several times in 1/2 hour, so I ended up rebooting to see if it would clear it up. This issue did not come back since then.
On a similar note, I was playing a game this morning in a dark room with the brightness turned all the way down. I was being very active in interacting with the screen. Every now and then the screen would go black, except for the notification bar. I could still see that (time and statuses of things running). The screen would not respond to any touches, so I would shut the screen off and turn it back on and all would be good. This happened 2-3 times over a 45 min period. I play this game quite often, but not usually in the dark and often not as actively as I was doing. My resolution is set in the middle (FHQ+ I think it's called).
Has anyone else run into anything like this?
This S9+ snapdragon through Verizon just seems to be plagued with so many minor issues. I've never had a new phone with this many problems.

As a followup, I think I have found the problem. It seems to be with a product called Game Tuner. It can black out the screen while leaving the app running in the background. I think it is buggy. Doesn't seem to be a way to shut it off though.

I was able to uninstall, then install an older version of Game Tuner and the problem that was easiest to reproduce was fixed. Hopefully this will prevent the weird 1/2 screen thing as well.
