The Google Talk application allows you to video or voice chat with anyone that has downloaded the Google Talk Video applcation. It's easy -- if they have not setup the Google Video Chat extension on their computer, they just need to check out their buddy list for the option. It can also be found in Gmail Settings, I believe.
It's unfortunate that Google has not advertised this enough, as I see it as a main feature of Honeycomb.

I and my wife both had iPhone 4 so we could facetime. Now I upgraded to Atrix. Is there anyway we can still do video chat? I thought of using yahoo messenger but it only shows back camera... no front camera...

Use Tango
I use Tango. It's cross platform so you can video chat from Android to iPhone.
Skype still doesn't support video for Android but they are working on it.

Tango works on the Atrix and iPhone 4, my wife and I use it. I do not believe any other video chat app will currently work cross platform with the Atrix.

I know we had the fix before but after the mandatory update of y! messenger it no longer works... I was wondering if anybody has an updated fix?
Can we not use gmail video chat to do face time?

are you talking facetime as in apple? I think they only allow face time with other apple users
Well. You know how Google has a webcam video chat on gmail via webcam/laptop. Thunderbolt has front facing video camera. why couldn't we use gmail video chat on thunderbolt to talk to people on PC or laptop. Sorry if it is a dumb question.

Hmmmm... I wonder if the Honeycomb GTalk app would enable video chat... I'll try to decompile and fix for 2.2. First I need the apk...any links?

i have a xoom at work that we are testing, I will try to pull the .apk from google talk via titanium backup tomorrow since I have not rooted that device.
I was video chatting on my Xoom to my girlfriend the other night. I forget if it was the in the Talk app or not, pretty sure.
As far as "FaceTime", you can video chat with people using Tango and Yahoo Messenger for now, and Skype (with video calling) is coming soon.

I have definitely used video chat on my Xoom from the Talk app.
Let Google Know
I found a thread asking Google to please get video chat rolling here in the Google support forums.
Yeah I don't know if the Honeycomb GTalk app would just work on Froyo considering that GTalk is apparently heavily baked into a lot of Android features. But this would be an amazing feature. Maybe more people would finally start using GTalk too since it's hard to get my friends to kick their SMS addiction.
Skype released an update today that released video calling to some devices.
"- Two way video calling is supported on the following handsets: Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo, Sony Ericsson Xperia pro."
Is it possible to change some strings in the app to allow the video calling to work on other devices like the tab 10.1?

Tried it on mine, but couldn't sign in. Your mileage may vary.
Tried it on mine but the app just closes down when trying to sign in.
At sign in the app crashes and takes me back to home....
I got the Skype app from the Xoom forums and it works on my tab. Thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148715
Edit: download is is the third post.

Don't need root. Sign in and chat work, haven't had a chance to try voice or video.

I am sure it checks the type of Device you are using to provide or deny access to the Video chat feature. Until Someone can Bypass that check we will have to continue to use it as it is.
just tried the xoom skype and it doesnt work. hope someone can get it to work!
doesnt work on galaxy tab 7' gingerbread.. too bad.
Yeah, I never got a chance to test the video chat. Being able to log in is progress though.

I am dying to have a functional Skype on the GT. I have a friend in Japan who I Skype with and another in the Philippines who I'll probably Skype with soon. It would be phenomenal to have it.
One friend of mine has video chat with GoogleChat on his SGT and said the person on the other end could barely hear them. Said he uninstalled and reinstalled, but could not get the volume out to any respectable level.
I'm hoping that's a software issue and not a terribad microphone.
Try this version http://depositfiles.com/en/files/ddpmrkets. Works for me.

Hey!
Can you tell us (or at least me) how you got it to work, because your version and the other version (45) both auto close when I try to login. I'm totally clueless.
Please reply
I don't believe it works on the galaxy tab. It works on my Galaxy S. The Tegra processor doesn't include the NEON extensions, which are used in the binary, thus it exits right away.
There is lots more info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153285

Many things show up as incompatible. You need to side-load the apk.

There was a working tutorial for fring around here. I'll see if I can find it.

Fring & Skype Test AIT 101
I've tested the newest Versions of Skype and Fring. Only Fring has shown video, and that was in a testing scenario.
Fring-The feed appeared choppy and laggy.
Sype-Other person in the call(which i attempted repeatedly to make VideoChat from both ends) could hear me perfectly aside from the echo from the speakers(just add headphones) but I wasn't visible, and neither was he.
Archos IT 101
Try SipDroid VideoSMS
Yahoo Messenger with Video plugin works.
Have you tried reelportal? It uses Adobe Air. I tried it on my phone, but I can't remember if I tried it on the Archos (which I don't have available right now to check). It's a bit different from most other options, but it does let you video chat to PCs.

Skype
One of the reasons why I bought this device was for its front facing camera and purported Video Chat capability. Being that this device uses the Google Android OS, I assumed that Google Video Chat was possible. However, this is not the case and I have been patiently waiting for a software update to enable to this function. Do you know if anything is in the works? And if not, why wouldn't this device be eligible for Google Video Chat?
I had the same problem. Ended up using tango and it works.

Google video chat support is hit or miss in gingerbread. Try Talk 1.3 Installer on the market, needs root but be warned it can be flaky.
