I've got an inspire 4g. I started on revolution HD but eventually moved to gingerbeast which I like very much. A friend of mine is about to buy a thunderbolt to replace his g1 and wants a rom similar to mine.
Any suggestions?
here's a list of TB roms. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081930
Cyanogenmod 7 is the best AOSP Gingerbread rom but it's still buggy.

I have been using the XDA forums for a while with my Motorola Atrix and now I have a Nook Color to play with.. I am trying to decide what I want to run on it and would like to get people's opinion on what they like the best.
Right now I have CM7 running on it and like it.. I get freeze ups from time to time but generally I am enjoying it.
I am interested in giving Honycomb a try but I hear that it has a lot of compatibility issues with different apps and am wondering if it is worth my time to give it a try.
What do you all think? Which do you prefer? Is there something other than these two options to try?
Give MIUI a shot; it's Android with an iOS coat of paint.
Honeycomb probably won't be worth it until after ICS due to the fact that google hasn;t released the source code for HC.Once we get some proper ports of Honeycomb out, i think Honeycomb would be the best.
CM7 is the best period. MIUI is just themed outdated CM version.

Cm7 gets my vote too, been very stable and turns your nook into an even more useful little device. Very neat
+1 for CM7. I was getting random problems running from an a-data card (Sandisk is usually recommended). I installed to emmc a while ago and haven't looked back -- it's been just about perfect. I had tried one of the earlier preview versions of HC a while back and it was not fun - very laggy and lots of compatibility problems. I'm sure it's better now but with CM7 there's little reason to switch.

It's not better and it won't get better without source code that will never come.

+1 for MIUI, loving it compared to cm7
Cm7 I'd the best choice ATM IMO.

I'm dual-booting MIUI and CM7, but I use CM7 most of the time because MIUI is somewhat... garish.

I guess MIUI would seem a little garish compared to the stark, utilitarian dressing of stock Android.
i am upgrading to an android device in 2 days. i'm pretty excited, but i need some help on my decision. basically i am down to deciding between the HTC inspire 4g and the Samsung Infuse 4g.
I really like HTC Sense more than Touchwiz, but i like the screen size and clarity on the Infuse better. so my question is when i flash a rom onto either device does it also change the UI? in other words should i just pick the phone i want to upgrade to based on the hardware and not the software? because if i upgrade based on hardware i am going with the samsung infuse, but if i go by software i am going with the Inspire.
thanks!
Samsung Galaxy S II. FTW
INTERNET MONEY!
HTC Inspire 4G!

Being an HTC inspire 4G user, I would suggest to go for HTC inspire 4G!!!
And as far as the UI is concerned, different ROM's have different UI's like the stock ROM's for HTC inspire 4G will have the HTC Sense and stuff, whereas if you flash Cyanogenmod ROM's like CM7, they do not have Sense stuff.
But the UI is ALMOST the same for most of the ROMs, as far as I know. The only difference in custom ROM's is that they have some enhancements and remove bloatwares.
Hey guys, I've been looking into getting either the G-tab 10.1 or 8.9 flashing the latest ICS roms. My question is, do you think I should wait until Samsung releases the ICS source code or go ahead and bite the bullet? I'm well aware that no rom is stable and each will have their bugs, but it seems you either get a decent experience where you have some problems or the rom just sucks. I have a touchpad and ICS it's great, not to many major issues. Has anyone got their G-tab running ICS with no major issues? Wifi working, no FC's, HD youtube, minimal screen flickering/rotation issues, etc... I know it's asking for alot, but i'm confused how my HP can work so well with android being ported over, and the G-tab experience be so crappy and it has android baked in.
just got a replacement for my verizon xoom that got stolen. i understand that 4g is not working on any of the 4.2 roms.
is their a kernel that will work and not break the 4g? (stock 4.0.4 is nice but need alittle more out of the cpu)
or a decent stable rom that is overclockable at the 4.0.4 or above, that doesn't break 4g?
after searching for hours i got a unlocking thread, recovery thread, but unclear on a good 4g rom.
on my xoom i ran teameos nightly builds and got real used to stable, fast roms. i use my tablet all day for work and need something nice.
thanks in advanced for any suggestions.:fingers-crossed:
Nevermind this thing doesn't have HDMI out so its going back to Verizon I'm getting a xoom 2.
although no real roms for the xoom2 it does have rom slots to tweak
Hello,
My Rezound is unlocked and S-OFF. It currently has a Sense ROM on it from a year or so ago on it.
Getting a new phone and my 7 year old will be getting this Rezound to play games on (it has the extended battery). What ROM would be best for his use?
Thanks!

Try a kit Kat ROM such as everolv or liquid smooth, CM 11 if you want. If you want sense, try ecliptirez I think it is? It's a great sense 4 ROM. Just depends, do you want sense or AOSP?
Sent from my HTC One M8 running Insert Coin. S-OFF.
Thanks for your feedback. I have no need for Sense so can do without it. For my son I'm looking for something decently stable and with very good battery life (for a Rezound , anyway). It'll have wifi off almost all the time and no cell service. Bluetooth will not be used. He will just use it to play games. Thanks for any suggestions on advance!
Evervolv, CM11, or any vanilla ROM should be fine... I would avoid feature rich ROMs like LiquidSmooth, Carbon, Tachyon for this application (they are great for roms for use as a phone)
Thanks!
Agreed with @acejavelin they're great ROMs. Look into them. Mainly as ace said try everolv.

Cm9 was probably the fastest I've seen this device, anything ics based will have smooth graphics and better battery life
Stick with Sense or as bunchies said, cm9. Personally I'm running ConROM v6, which is basically stock rooted.
If you need something more up-to-date, go with CyanogenMod 10.1.3 (not 10.1.3.1) since it's the fastest and most stable JB/KK ROM still. 10.1.3.1 has a crash in the Settings app and nothing really changed.
