Two days ago I could not use my HD2 as a USB and also it could not be activesync with PCs. I tried to connect it with PCs, laptops, all were failed. I dont know what I can do. All PCs showed " USN device not be recoganised" . Could anyone help me please?
Hi, I can only charge my HTC HD2 phone using the USB port, but I cannot use the usb port for activeSync and USB function (data transfering). I wonder if the USB posrt is dead already?? Why the phone still can be charged via the USB port? Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
I'm sure you have tried to reboot your HD2, but have you also tried another USB-Cable?
Power and data wires are seperated, so it could be possible your HD2 can be charged, but data can not be transfered.
Which OS are you using on your PCs and Laptops? Iguess XP if you are using AS instead of WMDC. You can try to remove AS and install new after reboot.
Virus scanners and firewalls are also known for blocking data transfer sometimes.

Mantis Have you solve your problem? I got same problem, too.after i flash hspl 2.08 .
mantis123, do the following:
1. Disable any antivirus or firewall on PC
2. Delete partnership or reinstall ActiveSync
3. Open task manager on device and kill ActiveSync in Applications tab (if exists)
4. Try to connect.
If that does not work - hardreset the device and try again the same order.
If that does not work - re-flash rom. Try different one.
If that does not work - check the cable. There are 5 pins in outlet - so you have 5 wires inside. See picture attached. You have to check # 3 and 4 contacts/wires.
If everything's good with the cable - go to workshop to fix device.

Kinda coincidence. Flashing HSPL has nothing common with sync problems.
I have this too sometimes. Rebooting both PC and HD2 (soft reset!) usually does the trick to get everything going again.

I think he could hardly forget to restart both things before he stated to try other PCs and laptops (in plural).....
After your expert like advise. I use a new cable it's really work and solve the problem.

I seem to have a problem with my XDA II (Dopod 696). The device won't sync via USB, but it will sync via infrared. When i plug the USB cradle/cable in, the computer complains that "USB Device not Recognized" saying that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, etc..
Now the problem is, this phone comes in Chinese software. If i have to active sync via BT normally it would be fine, but i need USB support to reflash in WWE ROM to the phone.
Or has someone come out with a total solution for flashing the phone via SD card already? I have tried the ROM 1.72 bootloader but it does not work at all. My bootloader is 1.02.
THe strange thing about this all is that when loaded into bootloader mode, the phone says Serial. When i plug in the cradle/cable, the phone can recognize the connection and it changes to USB. But it is still detected as a malfunctioning device on all 4 of my computers (WinXP x2 Win2k x2).
Help, somebody!
can't you put it in bootloader usb and then run an upgrade ?

no..what kind of an upgrade would run on a undetected USB connection?
Even mttyl won't work.
So is a general SD-solution available yet? Or should I try by restoring a backup from another XDA II?

Solved the problem..
Believe it or not, the connector on the bottom of the XDA II had actually had 4 pins twisted down...in particular the USBDATA+ and - pins clamped to ground (i think) thank goodness the device still works.
Managed to restore them to the original position with a blade, tweezers and a very nervous 20 minutes.
Have no idea what a replacement connector would have cost locally here. Probably another bomb (or as the "generic" solution goes.. Err, sir.. We need to replace your motherboard RUBBISH!
Hi there,
I upgraded to WM5 but wanted to downgrade to WM2003. But halfways the downgrade the PDA hung. The only thing I can see in the screen is Serial at the top and v1.06 at the bottom. When I put the PDA in the cradle, Serial changes into USB. When I try to install firmware from a ROM, after a while I get an Error 101: Connection Error. I think that in some way the connection cannot be esthablished between cradle (PDA) and the computer.
Trying a soft or a hard reset doesn''t seem to do anything.
Can anyone help?
MDA II
i have the same problem. it keeps on giving me a connection error. please can some one help.
the same problem with SPV M1000. anyone have the solution?
do a hard reset guyz by this method
HOLD DOWN UR POWER BUTTON+RESET (pin at bottom)..u will see 1.06 or what ever ur bootloader version is at bottom and at top u will see SERIAL..when u connect it to USB it will change to USB....and VOILA !!!
Happy Flashing
Same Problem
Did as you said and my computer doen't pick up the connection through the cradle. HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!
prob
HERE already tried to hardreset and then trying flashing
but can't sucess
The same problem..
we are on the same trouble...
until now, there's no way to resolve this problem,
the lucky if we can connect to PC,
i think its the connector problem,
maybe using a new sync cable rather then the cradle then
the cradle was always hit or miss for me
but i still had my wallaby cradle which always worked

I have tried about 3 different cables and the cradle one.
and so tried to 3 different PC's to connect and got same error
btw, thanks...
From what I've seen so far problems can be caused by:
1. A firewall needs configuring or temporary disabling.
2. The usb connection shouldn't be through a hub but straight to the usb on the motherboard.
3. Dubious connection to the cradle.

Yesterday I tried to restart my phone and now it isnt recognized by my pc, I tried, re-flash, another rom, other sbcard, format pc, other pc's, usb drew, radio update, recovery update, but NOTHING works, even other cables,. What can it be ._. ? I wiped phone also..
Try going into recovery and select the USB option. Should work fine.

More info from Segadora..
When he is doing adb devices it shows no serial even though it does with my Hero. We're running same ROM, and I got no problems

I had this same problem two nights ago and fixed it last night, it isn't your phone that's the problem.
If you have winXP, Vista or win7 it is a problem known by microsoft.
I got it back by going into device manager open up the USB tree. Now uninstall all the USB items that exist in that tree. You should have nothing left for USB.
Then restart windows and leave it recognise all the USB ports.
When it finishes it might ask you to reboot.
Once it is rebooted you can plug in your phone it will recognise it and any usb sticks you have.
Microsoft say that the OS acts funny if you plug and unplug your devices too quickly. It switches off certain things that can only be reset by the method described above.
If that doesn't help then there is a registry hack you would need to do - but microsoft has a little app that does it for you.
Let me know if it works.

I just got my phone back from repair and I'm trying to install HardSPL. The installer for some reason isn't able to tell that the phone is connected and even though the phone says "USB" in the bootloader, HSPL doesn't see it.
HSPL is just stuck saying "Waiting for USB..."
Any hints? I'm using windows 7

make sure u are conected to the internet for driver update
chek your cable ))
make sure that your usb connection is set to active sync (on your device)
I had already tried all of the above and it didn't work.
(with regards to the activesync thing, the HSPL installer automatically took my phone into bootloader mode. So I don't think there was any issue there)
In the end, I just went and used a different computer.
I have a laptop, and i had the same problem. My solution was to connect my phone through another usb port on my computer (main usb port) try it with the other usb ports.
Hope this helped you

Hmmm interesting....
However, the same USB port on my computer works for flashing ROMs and Radios so I doubt that is the problem. In fact, I used the same USB port for flashing the NRG rom straight after I hard spl'd my phone!
My solution was to just use another computer.
Thanks for your response. Hopefully this thread might help some guy in the future in a similar situation.

actually just cos a port works for flashing means nothing. you can flash and sync through case mounted ports and usb hubs, but hspl won't work on those same ports.
First of all I am a big-Noob.
My LG optimus one P-500 is in stock ROM.
My Problem :-
Earlier USB was working fine but now
when I plug it in to the AC Adapter it charges OK but when I plug it in to the USB after that it only charges and neither the Phone nor the PC recognizes the USB data connection.
I have tried
1) Power off the phone and remove the battery for a couple of seconds and power it back up, after doing this the USB does not connects. Not even recognised by PC or Phone
2) Device manager also does not detect anything.
3) Uninstalled modem driver and reinstalled USB driver but no result.
Please help
Thanks in advance

This happened to me twice before. I had to send it to LG's Service Center because I saw no way of fixing it since the computer wouldnt know what to do with it...
If you have custom recovery installed, you might be able to flash an original ROM over it. This wasn't an option for me before and it seemed like the only way to fix my phone. Don't take my word for it though. Try for the service center first if possible...
Did you try going to settings and choosing Mass Storage only?
Also, change the USB port of the cable with which you connect your phone (plug the cable in another one - try this with all ports if it doesn't work the first time)...
Before going to any service, do a backup and Factory Reset your device, then try again...
Oh, and disable LG modem from Device Manager after installing the USB drivers.
USB not getting detected
I am trying in choosing Mass Storage only.
"Also, change the USB port of the cable with which you connect your phone (plug the cable in another one - try this with all ports if it doesn't work the first time)..."
Not helping either
Disabled LG modem from Device Manager after installing the USB drivers.
No use

I will try this definitely but going to service means 3-4 days without phone . really very scary .
thanks mate
anymore help
Okay , I did face this problem before and I did about hundreds of advice from my friends but this is the step that works.
I discovered that this happens when you do crazy **** on your sd card with applications such as titanium backup or root explorer. Curiousity kills the cat.
Firstly you need:
1) Usb Card Reader [Of course which suits with your sdcard]
2) Computer
Firstly, you want to dismount the sdcard from your phone and mount it to the USB Card Reader.
Connect the Usb Card Reader to your Computer.
You should be able to gain entry to the sdcard
Next, clear everything on your sd card then place your sd card on your phone back and do a factory reset. If you don't do a factory reset then you must do it all over again if you decided to connect the usb to the phone. After reset-ing the phone , try to connect your phone to the computer. Congratulations.
Note: This works for me but it doesn't meant that it will work for you , but I think that this is worth the try.

Ur phone charges through usb that means your phone usb port/usb cable is ok. Do this :
Uninstall the drivers, restart the pc and try connecting the phone again. Remember not to install the drivers again. Win7 save a dump of old drivers and i think it will auto detect it. Post results here.

Got exactly the same situation with USB(on different PCs) and also Emergency mode on every reboot(taking battery out for about an hour helps).
Did SD wipe though not sure about factory reset afterwards, gotta try it one more time...

Are you sure you are having the latest driver?
try this:
Code:
csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
install it,
(you may have to choose language from the last tab, 1st or 2nd option)
and choose P500 from "driver installation"
I didnt experience this issue but if i cant help im sorry.

None of the above methods worked on mine as well - same results on different cable(pc/os).
Will try to flash rooted original firmware via custom recovery, del custome recovery and root and send it to service.
