The phone's been pretty good so far, except for the Bluetooth output. I have a Bluetooth stereo in my car that I used constantly with my OG Evo and it worked great; I could play with it, walk around the car with it in my pocket, etc, and it would still play the audio flawlessly. With the 3D though, it has to be sitting out in the open. If I grab it, the audio cuts in and out. Even if I hover my hand a couple of inches above it cuts in and out (which should be cause enough for a replacement since the phone and receiver are literally two feet away from each other). This does not make me a happy panda.
Is anybody else having Bluetooth issues? Can anybody test theirs out to see if the problem exists outside of just mine???
paired with my xps15 ..playing VanHalen walked the 3vo two rooms over( about 50 feet) and still playing ..pissing the gf off tho ...she wanna know why I'm playing around with my new toy ...well ...gotta go ..gnight all
It has been solid for me so far. My happiest moment was when I tagged the button on my Plantronics 655 and voice dialed the wife. Haven't been able to do that since the WinMob days.
Haven't tried to pair mine with my Sony head unit, I'll report back if i can remember to tonight
Thanks guys. Sounds like it might be isolated to just mine. Looks like I might might be visiting Sprint again soon to get a replacement. So sad considering that I just traded in my original launch-day Evo that never had a single problem with it
Just reporting back in...
A2DP on this phone paired with my car's headunit is the most rock solid A2DP connection i've ever had. My epic would occasionally skip, and it was noticible that the driver sped up and slowed down to compensate for connection variations... but with the 3vo, you wouldn't have known the difference if i had plugged it in the 3.5mm jack.
I have mine paired with a Blackberry stereo receiver which is in my glovebox. This morning, I got out of the car to fill up my gas tank and grabbed my phone out of habit. When I was done filling, I tossed my phone into my pocket and hopped back into the car before I realized that I had been moving all around with my audio source. The streaming Pandora didn't stutter once through all of that
I think It's the best connection I've ever had.

I'm having much better Bluetooth quality with my E3D than I did with my Evo. With my OG Evo, if my phone was in my pocket and I turned my head to the right (with Motorolo S305 Bluetooth headphones), the signal would cut in and out. However, with my E3D, I haven't had a single problem with it at all yet.
I have the same setup, no problems whatsoever
Anyone else having issues with the 3d holding a connection to bluetooth audio devices. It keeps dropping and reconnecting to my car and I tested it with a old bluetooth ear piece and does the same. Anyone else having the same issue?
Mine wont let my car radio take the phone book... it worked fine on my og evo...
Same here... phone book won't transfer on the 3D where it did fine on the Evo 4g and with CM7. My car is a BMW 750Li.
I'm on the same boat. Doesn't want to connect automatically, if it does connect it's only the audio portion. I'm very frustrated only being able to use my hands-free 45% of the time now. Subaru Forester '11
Mine just ****s out when I hold it wrong or if something gets in the way. I might go in and exchange it...

I bought an Evo 3D and now my contacts won't sync over bluetooth to my car! This sucks, I need this essential feature to work or I'll have to return this phone. Dialing from my car is much easier than dialing from the phone. My contacts synced just fine over bluetooth to my car with my old Evo.
The Evo 3D will connect to my car over bluetooth and can act work in "phone audio" mode, but how come the contacts won't sync like before?
Does anyone know if this is an issue caused by the new OTA? Unfortunately, I updated my phone so I could watch Green Hornet.
Tried to go running with it today... if the 3D was more than 6 inches away from the headset, it would drop connection.

I have the EVO 3D and it frequently drops bluetooth signal (connects and disconnects) on a regular.
I have the LG HBS700 Headset. This is very irritating because there is about 5-15 seconds of "no audio". i cant hear on the phone when the bluetooth drops, nor can i hear on the bluetooth. i have to wait it out or switch from bluetooth to EVO when it drops and even then, it doesnt change immediately like it normally does when im switchng between the headset and phone.
Hi everyone,
I searched the forums to see if anyone else was having bluetooth reception and range issues but came up short.
I'm having problems keeping my Plantronics Voyager Pro + headset connected to the phone. I usually have to have it within 3 feet of the phone, or I get a lot of static or BT disconnects completely. What's weird is I am able to stay connected up to 20 feet away with my Jabra bluetooth speaker. I recently bought a hard plastic case for the phone which made the problem a little worse, but not too much (5 feet range vs 3 or 4).
Anyone else having this issue? I just bought the phone on 12/17 and I think I have 30 days to exchange or return. Are there any fixes out there that have worked for anyone?
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions!
*** Update: I just re-paired my Voyager Pro + headset with my old HTC HD2 and was able to walk about 25 feet away from the phone (two walls in between) and had no static or disconnects. Must be the Amaze. ***
I've been using the Motorola S305, and I can be two rooms away, and still get good reception from the phone, so long as doors are open. Like every bluetooth headset I've used, getting my body between the phone and the headset is a problem (phone needs to be in a pocket on the same side of my body as the headset BT receiver). The quality of the bluetooth on this phone seems to be superior to that of my old N1. No complaints.
Thanks Dave. Are Bluetooth issues such as these hardware or software issues?
Get new earphones.

I called T-Mobile and they said the bluetooth connectivity/range problem is a known issue for the Amaze 4G. HTC is currently working on a solution that will likely be resolved on the next software update.
Off I go to buy a set of wired earphones until they release it.
Curious--I wonder why I'm having no difficulties, then. I've connected the Amaze to my N1, the amaze to my ASUS Transformer, and the Amaze to my S305 headset, all with no problems.
Not all the profiles I'd like to see supported necessarily are (Can't get DUN to work), but I'm puzzled that there's apparently some problem.
It's interesting that your Voyager worked so well with the HD2.
On the Tmobile forums, there's certainly discussion:

So far I have talked on BT with no issues. I set the phone on my desk and I walk around my room without issues, distance is no more than 10 feet, but works without issues.
Get the latest updates for you phone. Delete the pairing with your Bluetooth then pair again. I have a Jawbone Era and my reception was horrible. My reception is much better now after updating and pairing again, although I still have a long delay between phone and Bluetooth.
Only issue I have is delay when making call. Recieving the call is fine

I have a hard time connecting to my car's bluetooth. I have to play around with the settings until it links up but that's such a hassle. Also, I noticed that after turning bluetooth on, I would sometimes lose signal. Weird..
Hi I am hoping one of you can help or offer some advice. My EVO lte will not keep a pairing with my Parrot CK3100 car kit. It paired one time but will not pair again until I delete it and start over. I am in my car all day long and have never had this issue with previous phonesl Any thoughts? thanks in advance
I am having a similar problem with mine connecting to my car. It will connect and it will show it is connected but it won't route calls through the bluetooth until about a minute into the call. It also seems it will pop the connection in and out.
With my old evo it would connect almost immediately in the can and the bluetooth would ring before I even heard my phone ring.
For what it's worth:
I had problems maintaining a connection with my car (BMW 335i). It paired fine, just wouldn't keep a steady connection. I ended up deleting the pairing on both the car and the phone, re-paired but did not allow the car to share the contact list, as it asked to do during the pairing process.
The connection has been solid, however I'm at this point unable to send the contact list to the car.
I reported it to HTC CS, they are aware of it, and seemed to indicate they are going to have an update available at some point. I understand the One X variant also has some Bluetooth issues.
Something may definitely be up with this. I can't get my Evo to pair with anything! My desktop, laptop, tablet, Jaybird headphones or the Ford Sync in my Taurus. My EVO 3D & E4GT paired with no problems. I'm just glad to see that its not just my phone with the problem.

Same thing here. I have it connect to the bluetooth in my 12 Chevy Cruze (Just for my phone calls)and then to a bluetooth reciever i purchased to play my music.
When i connect the two of them my phone connection keeps dropping and then reconnects, causing my music to hiccup while disconnecting.
so right now i deleted my phone connection so i can play my music hiccup free.
When i had my HTC EVO 3D i had no problems connecting the both of them?
HTC please fix...............
So far I have not experienced this issue. I've had my phone since Monday and every morning I go to work I Bluetooth my phone to the Big Jambox and it works.

FWIW i was having problems with my phone staying connected to my car (scion tC 2012, stock radio). I fixed it by putting the phone in pair mode, then having the radio search for bluetooths. The popup came up on the phone (vs having the phone connect to the radio) and its been SOLID ever since. ALMOST as good as my hp touchpad running webos... almost....
No problem here connecting to my Rosen navigation on my Honda pilot. No drop calls and music is clear

For the BMW owner, you might want to consider downloading and installing the update from BMW, if your car supports the update: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/na...ooth_software_update_vin.jsp?region=&country=

Thanks, I was aware BMW had the capability, however "This offer is available for selected vehicles manufactured after March 2010." and mine is a 2009 model.
Missed it by that much
As much as it makes perfectly good sense to me to purchase a new automobile so my cell phone will work with it, I'm not sure that line of thinking will find much acceptance with the Department of Finance and War (aka, my lovely wife)
Appreciate your interest in helping with my Bluetooth issue, though...
I'm unable to hold a conversation for longer than 30 seconds when making and receiving calls in my 06 325i. Sometimes there's a loud high pitched sound that goes off and the call connection still seems to be live, but I can no longer hear the other person, which forces me to hang up. At other times, the call quality is choppy, like I'm traveling through a tunnel every 2 seconds, and eventually the other party on the line, or myself, hangs up. I've never had this problem with any other phones (Palm Treo 755p, EVO 4G and EVO 3D).
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I think it might be specific to the BMW car model and year. Thanks
For grin's try shutting Off WIFI while connected to the car.
I'm finding there are conflicts between Bluetooth and WIFI.

Confirmed! Turning off WiFi "fixes" the problem. This "phone" has a below average antenna, slow 3g speeds, and conflicting bluetooth/WiFi signals (all confirmed by numerous users). Sprint and HTC really need to come up with a solution to all these problems.
Here's a fun one: Just picked up my Evo LTE today.
I tried connecting it to my car stereo tonight.
The stereo sees the phone and pairs with it. Right after they pair i get "com.android.phone as stopped unexpectedly." on the phone and then bluetooth disconnects and my cell connection disconnect for a few seconds.
The stereo is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X995
Since i've owned the stereo i have connected my OG Evo, an Evo Shift, Nexus S 4G and a Photon 4G all without any issues.
I'm gonna play with it a little more and see if i can get it to pair. So far it's the only issue i've come across.
Edit: My phone is stock / rooted
Edit 2: Was just out experimenting. The phone seems to crash when it syncs the contacts list to the stereo. If I hit "cancel" on the phone when it asks to sync it pairs just fine and the phone doesn't crash.
Also made a 7 minute phone call and it didn't disconnect on me.
My wife's EVO LTE would consistently disconnect from her Rav4's Bluetooth after a minute or two.
This is a deal-breaker. I tried to take the phone back a day after purchasing and the Sprint store mgr wouldn't waive the restocking fee. I explained systemic issue and merchantability laws but no dice.
Sorry for the mini rant but Sprint sucks.

I'm having problems with my Dodge Ram 2500 U connect, the truck connects just fine, no problems, but the sound for both send and receive makes it unusable, has anyone had any problems with this?
I have been to Sprint, they are thinking of changing the phone, I use this for business so have to be able to be in communication, hands free so I'm not distracted and a hazard!
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Start with the basics... Have you tried to unpair and pair the phone?
Tried all the basics
I have tried all the basics, unpaired it, deleted it from both the phone and the uconnect on the truck.
Just has bad connection, it pairs easily, I have had one successful call, but that was it!
Every call made to the device, or from it is messed up, it works perfectly with any other phone I have tried!
My EVOlte connection (2012 Jeep GC) is flawless. This is not much help to you other than the fact that it should not be a compatibility issue. Have you checked to see if there are any Uconnect updates?
If not you may need to exchange the phone. Good luck!

I drive a 2010 Dodge Charger RT Plus, and the uConnect system in there works perfectly on my phone. No issues with pairing or maintaining a call, only beef would be a 2-3 second lag between the call ending and the system announcing "phone call completed!", but it did that with my 3D too.
I will say, however, that I tend to get some annoying feedback in audio when I try to have the phone charging and playing music through an aux cord, which I think is due to the unibody design.
I have a 2012 Dodge Durango R/T with Uconnect and haven't had any issues. As a matter of fact the stock music player with the Beats audio sounds amazing. Sounds like it may be your phone.

Have you tried taking off your back cover on the Evo and putting it back on making sure all the antenna connectors are still intact and touching the plate?

I have a 2012 2500 and it works fine. No issues for me. Maybe the phone it sounds like, or maybe just try another at a sprint store to try?
Just chiming in, works flawlessly in my 2011 Charger, and music over blue tooth with Beats sounds great.

Seems it was defective
Thanks everyone for the input, I had it exchanged for another one today, I have made 5 calls on it since I paired the new one, it seems to working I tried it again the following day and it's not working at all now, well it connects OK but the interference is abysmal! I am going to have to change the phone for another one, I'm going to try the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it comes out.
My truck is a Dodge Ram 2500 Turbo Cummin's Diesel Laramie, 2007, no fancy connections, just a simple press to talk interface.
I'll confirm tomorrow if it was a defective phone, I hope it was, the phone is pretty good.
Dodge only lists devices from 2009 and above, they must seem to think that they didn't make bluetooth in 2007!
If anyone has any further input please let me know.
Thanks In Advance.
