Hey All,
Here's the rundown. Got the tab new with version 1.2. NVFlashed to 1.1 via directions from 'Gtab for dummies' website and installed installed CWMod just fine (thanks to the Gtab for dummies web page, great work). Partitioned fine. I decided to try Vegan 5.0 and 5.1.1 Supplimental first (though, it never loaded Gingerbread Keyboard for me). Then I went back into CWMod, cleared the 3 caches, then installed the stable version of Vegan Gingerbread 7.0. Booted in ok, waited, restarted, waited. All was ok. Shut down and into CWMod and ran backup then restarted, but it looped to the dev screen and back out into CWMod. I tried reloading the backup but it seems to have failed. So I cleared out all the caches again, then reinstalled. I got it working again, backed up and was able to restart this time, but this is where it gets weird. It's running Gingerbread, but is displaying the Vegan 5.1.1 desktop. I restarted and it started back into Gbread desktop but I shut it down for the night and in the morning it was back to 5.1.1. Kind of a bummer at the moment. Everything else seems fine but I really liked the Gbread desktop with the sidebars, etc (as an aside, when it is on the 5.1.1 desktop I can't add certain widgets like the google search bar and it gives an error that "no space on this homescreen" or on any other for that matter. Any ideas? I have backed up via titanium apps+data to external sdcard, and correct me if I'm wrong, but if I had to reinstall again, would that save me the hastle of reloading all the apps? I can live with it as is though I'm a stickler for the details.
Thanks for the advice/ideas.
TB will restore all apps and data so your good there. When you reflash you just need to side load TB and then batch restore all user apps and data.
At this point I would nvflash back to stock using the stock image with cwm installed and pop in vegan7 again.
I was fearing that. I got this for the wife. She's been hastling me for an ipad for months so I got her this (or maybe for me, who's to say really?). Anyhow, she's like a hawk and I've had to sneak away to try and get it working and had to ask her to reload her apps etc. Then I had to suffer the "what do you mean it's hacked? why didn't you just get the ipad?" etc, etc, etc. I'll try your advice next time she's out and leaves it behind. Fingers crossed she doesn't find out or it will be all kinds of Wrath of Khan up in here...

I'm running TNT 4.2.5 on my GTablet and its working perfectly. My friend has a gtablet that has problems with his market not able to let him complete downloads.
SO to try and fix:
I reflashed tnt cuz i thought he did it wrong, switched to Vegan, switched back to tnt, NVflash to stock and back to tnt, and now finally I just booted a recovery of MY backup into his tablet.
Booting my recovery works. Market now downloads fine. Went in did a data wipe to reset the account. Input his account info in....NOW Market will not complete download. GAHAH.
SO to test if his account is wonky:
I data wiped my tablet, input his account info...market downloads fine.
WTF is happening?!?
why wont his tablet market work with his account info?
I read through a lot of the threads and not sure if I came across anyone having this problem. I saw a few threads that related to not having market complete the downloads, but supposedly NVFLASH to stock and New rom fixed it?
any insight is truly appreciated!!
Thanks.
I've got Flash 10.2 installed on Calkulin's ROM, but whenever I got to a page with Flash elements, I get the missing plug-in icon where the content should be. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but still no luck. Anyone else had this happen? My last resort is starting all over again, but hopefully there's an easier solution.
I'd like to know, too ... I gave up and went back to 10.1 for now.
I wiped and re-installed the ROM, and Flash worked for a day. Today, it's back to the missing plug-in icon. I'm about ready to throw in the towel on this tablet, it's gotten to be too much work to keep it functioning properly.
Lately (since yesterday) I have been having a weird problem. Every time I restart my phone, it resets. By resetting I mean my it looks like a fresh install. All my apps are still there but launcherpro has the fresh install look and GAPPS is asking me to install stuff. I have also been getting a lot of FC's with these restarts. I have tried going back to a earlier NANDROID and it seems to do the same thing...going ever further back now to see if it still does it. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

You flash anything or change anything with a2sd etc, before this started happening?
It's not doing it on an older NANDROID (from 4/22).
I flashed Drowning 7-6 ad then noticed it. But since my last restart before that, I've installed a lot of stuff. I will try it for a while on this NANDROID and see if it does it again after updating my apps, too many changes to rebuild from here...
Basically what happened was I flashed the Kernel (7-6) and restarted, things were fine...but then (per Drownings advice) I restarted again, and then all hell broke loose. I recovered my last NANDROID but experienced the same thing with just a restart, so now I am on an earlier NANDROID and tried a restart and all went well..Like I said I will try to update my apps when I get home (damn ATT data caps) and see what happens then...
OK...several restarts after installing updates, and everything seems normal it's definitely got something to do with either drowning 7-5 or 7-6, or n75 and/or n76.
Right now with the NANDROID I am running n42 with drowning 7 with aufs enabled (as was with the newer ROMS)
I also run DT A2SD with apps and dalvic on SD.
I will try to upgrade to n76 and drowning 7-7 in a few and see how that works out...
n76 and Drowning 7-7 has been good so far...I think the problem is solved...there was definitely something wrong with my setup that was common to the later NANDROID...thank god I saved some NANDROIDS
Wasn't there some kind of known issue with 7.6? I don't remember the details, but I seem to recall that there was some reason why I didn't flash it at the time (aside from general laziness).
Did a fresh install of n76 with S2E and Drowning 7-7, all is running smooth again and I have restarted a dozen times with no issue. After flashing over top of ROM's for the last few months there was probably some trash getting in the way, so I decided to clean house.
Ooookay, So, I've been working with the Evo 4G for awhile and I am pretty familiar w android.
Here is my situation
Installed Bonsai about a week ago, not bad.
Saw the TouchWiz update/rom Installed that (just now)
Did not like touchwiz.
Attempted to go back to Bonsai.
Now when I boot up, the launcher CONTINUOUSLY crashes, so i am unable to do anything at all.
How do I fix it? I just want it to be basic Rooted Bonsai again.
(P.S. Was just now lucky enough to get into the settings before it all crashed again)
How did you go back to bonsai? Fresh install, backup, restore or write over? Did you wipe before? Clear your cache(s)?
Hello everyone,
I have been reading these threads for a while, getting prepared to root my Thunderbolt. I rooted about a week ago with Revolutionary and had no problems whatsoever. A couple days ago I flashed my first ROM (Gingeritis) using the instructions on this forum, and everything worked great, except that I accidentally restored some system data with Titanium Backup, which I read can cause FCs, etc.
Therefore, I restored the stock ROM by booting into recovery and following those steps. Again, everything went well.
This morning, I wanted to try out a different ROM, so I followed the same steps with das BAMF 1.10, and I flashed the ROM successfully with no problems. However, after restoring my contacts (one of the green pieces of system data that I thought were ok to restore) with Titanium Backup, the popup "Sorry!" repeatedly came up saying that the application.com.android was not responding and needed to be force closed. It came up again so fast after clicking "close" that I couldn't even reset. Finally, I pushed the power button at the exact right time to be able to see the menu of options, and I clicked restart (not in recovery).
Now, the phone is running through the das BAMF and HTC startup screens repeatedly. The battery is pretty low. What do I do???
Thank you so much! I really really want to resolve this and avoid bricking my phone like an idiot.

Turn it off. Charge to atleast half or so battery. Boot into recovery, wipe cache, data, dalvik cache, and format system. Load up whatever ROM you want and only restore user apps and data.

Just what he said but let google restore the contacts, this us unless you never allowed google to let th them sync.
