Has anyone had any luck with getting StreakDroid (2.0) to sync in the facebook app?
From a bit of research it appears that either this problem is to do with the recent FB + Google sync saga or something as simple as the build not being in FBs whitelist for allowed devices to sync.
If it is the latter how does one fool the facebook app into syncing with the phone? Changing version id info?
Nevermind there was no StageUI in 2.0 so the guy I was helping opted for 1.9 where FB sync works.
Gingerbread and later don't have Facebook sync, if I recall, because of the disagreement between Google and Facebook. Streakdroid 2.0 is a Gingerbread build, whereas 1.9 is a Froyo build. That's why your friend can sync on 1.9 and not 2.0. Stage UI has nothing to do with it.

Does the Eris with 1.5 support MS Exchange Server? If so, what services sync? Email, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks?
Any speculation on what a 2.x Android will do?
My understanding with non Exchange that pop, imap, Gmail, Gcalendar and Gcontacts are available but no tasks.
My Eris (1.5) is syncing Mail, Calendar, and Contacts with our Exchange 2003 server. I'm not really sure about Tasks. I don't use them and don't see anything about them. Everything else works well.
I have installed 2.1 (the leaked version) and it gives full exchange support! calendar, contacts, and email are all working.. not sure on the tasks though.

Thanks guys. Do you think the sms bugs where it drains the battery are fixed in this release?

For the Eris there wasnt a battery drain from the Stock SMS app. That was the CDMA Hero.
The only SMS bug I know of was the 'blank message' bug, and as far as I can see that was resolved in mr2.
Never mind. I found out how to add an email address. I just didn't look close enough the first time.
Ok - yes I use hotmail....
I see andriod 2.1 is not yet supported but 2.2 seems to work.
I would really like to use it on my Wildfire - calendar and contacts sync is very important for me.
So how can we make it work?
I've looked around and seen a froyo client won't work nor does the Touchdown or K9 apps (I tried K9).
But the galaxy s email client is reported working - I've found the apk but am not sure how to install it (usual install fails on my rooted phone).
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks
Mark
Froyo works without HTML Emails.
Touchdown works fine for me.
I don't know about the Galaxy email client.
Sorry I posted this question on the development forum first....
Has anyone noticed that on rooted 1.1.0 touchdown is not syncing anymore? I'm sure it was working on my auto-nooted 1.0.1 but then I restored several times and now on the newly installed rooted 1.1.0 I can no longer sync my google contacts. I then tried it on nookie froyo and can not get it to work either. Can anyone with touchdown verify that?
Thanks!
I can't seem to get touchdown working after using autonooter and then applying the 1.1 update. It was working for me in 1.0.1

one problem I noticed on our exchange environment was every time I did a manual sync it created a new device partnership on the exchange server. At the time I was running 1.0.1 rooted though. I haven't tried 1.1 yet. If you have access to your exchange infrastructure you may want to check out how many device profiles you have associated with your account. Exchange I think has a set limit of 10 partnerships per user.
On a similar note touchdown doesn't seem to want to sync on froyo either. however I think it's having trouble getting past the 2010 device policies. Strange that it works on my hero.
I had problems setting up. Their support was phenomenal. So I would contact directly. Solution was their new beta release (not on market). Now works great for me on 1.1... TX didn't like wifi reset. Also contacts can be an issue if TX is reformatting on sync (then sync can take an hour and get stuck in a loop)
anyone find resolution to this problem?
I am having the same issue. Touchdown works fine on my Evo but nook color cant even initialize activesync now. This used to work on 1.0.1 but would create new partnerships every sync.
So am I correct in assuming that Facebook Sync does not work with our Gingerbread 2.3.3 (GSB & Ginger Tazz) just as it does not on the Nexus phones?
If you are referring to the HTC facebook linking and stuff, then no. But you can sync all your contacts from Facebook and put them in your contacts with their pictures.

and how would I do that? I've tried a few things but it just doesn't seem to be syncing everything... I have facebook set up in Accounts and everything but it still isn't syncing all contacts...

That would be incorrect. It works just fine on my phone. FWIW, it does work fine with the official build of the Nexus S, but the official build of the Nexus One had Facebook contact sync revoked by Google. I don't know the status of AOSP 2.3.3, but it's working fine on GSB 1.9/CM7 RC1/2.3.3.

Well, I should say that my GSB 1.9 build was flashed over 1.8, which was flashed over a fresh install of 1.7. If you cannot get Facebook contact sync to work in 1.9, I suppose one thing to try is to fresh install an older version of GSB (say, 1.7), get everything set up on there (I'd do Facebook first, to make sure that contact sync is working for you) and the flash over with 1.9 and gapps.
My only issue with FB contact sync is that I have manually join some contacts with my existing gmail contacts after a fresh install. FWIW, HTC's facebook contact sync was always much smarter about this.

I did the unforgivable - never did before. I backed up my system's App data from GSB 1.9 and restored it to GingerTazz 11. It actually works quite well. I only have two quirks, Flow keeps FCing and I can use the Facebook app but not add it to the sync list.
I definitely could before.
I'm going to do a fresh install now that I have more time so I anticipate both of these to go away.

Had sorta the same thing coming from GSB v1.9-GSB v2.0. I had to uninstall Facebook then reinstall from market. Everything works great now!

I'm on Ginger tazz 10 and I've had no problems with Facebook sync but then again v11 had a few probs go either 10 or 12

The thing is whenever Google released GB 2.3.3 the Facebook contact sync was supposed to be disabled. So when Shed and Tazz compiled there source that feature should not be there. This is only in GSB 2.0 and Tazz's v12 because they are 2.3.3. Anything previous to these versions still should sync with no problems. Now with that said, I have noticed that the sync is still working for me in GSB 2.0. Although it may be hit and miss for others. My advise would be to NOT to update Facebook until this gets fixed and all the bugs get worked out. The problems is not with the phone or the roms. Its with Google and Facebook.

Hi,
I was wondering what options are there in AOSP 5.1 roms to have my Microsoft Exchange email account up 'n' running? I tried adding the latest Microsoft exchange services app, my account seems to be set up through Gmail app but in reality, no emails show up in any folder and whenever I manually synchronize there's an exchange services force close error... Do I need the old email app? And if so, do I also need the separate services app?
Thanks
I just installed com.google.android.gm.exchange-6.5-1729047-500065-minAPI19.apk and com.google.android.gm-5.1.89745174-51001549-minAPI14.apk from the Apkmirror. It works for me (Exchange 2010).
The first file you mention is the exact same file I installed as well. Not the second one though, could that be the reason it's FCing?
I had the same Problem with the previous gmail version now it disappeared. Google updated the gmail version in the play store yesterday. I think you can use that version also. It should be the same.
I installed the MS exchange services file but the problem seems to be with the gmail app. For some reason, I am running com.google.android.gm 5.0.1 1642443, doesn't sound right for a 5.1 rom does it?
Your version is the one from play store. My version is 5.1.89745174 from apkmirror try this one.

Exchange Services 6.5-1729047 mail sync overheating phone
My phone is overheating with the update to Exchange Services update (6.5-1729047) which I downloaded from APKMIRROR. I am also using Gmail 5.1.89745174 . I'm running CM12 nightly.
Exchange Services is taking upwards of 16% of battery. Had to disable mail sync to cool it down. Calendar and contacts seem to be working ok, but had to revert to Aquamail for email.
Anyone with similar experiences?
