Have you done a basic google search for free icons? There are several sites that offer them, mind you they ate typically for you computer but work just fine on our phones. I actually think I remember seeing a cupcake icon pack awhile back. You would use Better Cut from the market to apply them. .png is a perfect format and check all the links that come up on the first page of a google search. Also im not sure if anyone has done an ADW theme for that so check the market also for ADW. Good luck

First, let me say by no means should I be trying any of this, because I don't really know much about how to modify software on Android devices. I've seen the .apk from AOSP taken and used on the Thunderbolt to replace the stock HTC text messaging app. Is there any way possible to take the .apk from some Motorola version of Android to swap in the Motorola text messaging app? That was by far the best looking messaging app in my opinion. I've tried simple .apk swaps and that doesn't do it. I'm just trying to figure out if its even possible or is it to entangled in the Blur b/s for me to even ask for help?

Not unless you have the software for it. Called backsmali or somethin like that. You could try posting on a dev page and ask for it

The title says it all, don't want to waste anybodys time.
everyone knows by now swype got updated and nexus the lucky basterds got the badass black flat skin
Anyway for us to get our hands on it?
Not legally. That being said if someone wanted to release a skin only, that would work.
Yeah just the skin would be fine. I'm loving Swype again

oh Hell yeah i would love that skin as well.
is it possible?
I want the skin too I have the newest release
E3D
im not sure on the specifics but if you just throw down a google search its been ported to several other phones quite easily.
i think it was mostly just grabbing the apk and then grabbing the necessary libs

so im guessing no takers in trying this out lol
Post the apk for it, or where to get
I have the zip file containing the apk and lib file, and I'll post a link.
Link removed as it may be considered warez
I do like swype a lot, but I'm sure when they have full skin support people here will make some nice looking ones.
In the mean time, SwiftKey X beta has been holding me off with their awesome black skin -

I'll post it tomorrow. Just to be sure, what version of Swype is this?
I no longer have it installed, so I don't have the version number.
I just know it's the one from the Nexus.
I also remember that reinstalling swype beta required deleting both files, clearing data just to be sure, and then rebooting before running the swype installer. Otherwise it would install but then you would get the swype force closes. Installing it properly fixed that though.

Is this Flashable or does it need to manually added?
This is not flashable. The two files have to be placed in the app and lib folders, with the proper permissions. Just to make sure I would recommend to clear data first. Reboot is also likely necessary.
I will say again, this does not fill the screen for qhd devices, but the keyboard still works, albeit too cumbersome to really use all the time.

Ok is it the same as the Beta or does this have different Features?
The most recent beta has the same features.
Is there a way to replace the app with one from an earlier build that has the sms splitting option in the settings? I'd try it myself but I have an otherwise perfect build running, and don't want to bork things up.
And yes, I know I could use any of the ones in the play store, but I find them all ugly and over the top, the default one works for me.
you could always just nandroid then replace whatever you want. if you bork something, just restore.
And as for market apps i use gosms. i like it a lot. there are lots of themes for it in the play store. Surely there is a theme that you dont find ugly.
Alright, I'll give that a try, thanks!

So I recently saw the Automotive Home app from the One S and it's way better than what we have on the Amaze. Now to the question...Is it possible to port this over to Sense 3.6, i have it a go on my amaze to see what happened-cleared cache, dalvik, fixed permissions and of course it did not install. If it is possible to port what would be needed to get it going? I saw this thread but they had no resultshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1549877
Would this link be useful in doing the above? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053227
Sorry but i'm definitely a NOOB to this but if the above is a start ill gladly try and get it going.I know there are alternatives but this looks great!
Don't think the above post is necessary. However I might be wrong. Try to just push the app into system / app. It should show up without a problem. Do not try to install it. You might have to play with the permissions.

I tried that and it shows in my app drawer but crashes when I try and load it. I'm thinking that since its from sense 4.0 it may need to be decompiled and worked on. I'm a noob with this kind of stuff so just threw it out there. I'll keep working on it and if I get it working ill post for all.
Live and Die on this day....
Makes sense. I didn't try so I'm not surprised it failed. Might have something to do with the framework difference between 3.6 and 4.0. Theintellgent has a 4.0 rom, might wanna ask him if he knows where to start.
