I'm thinking of flashing my phone with bionix-v, but was wondering which kernel I should use. On the Team Whiskey's official bionix-v page they have four compatible kernels to use. But my question is what does each of them really specialize in or do?
¤Here's the four kernels:
OverStock v1.3 by cmenard
DoW14 v1.1.1 by Morfic
Dragon v5.0 TEST1 by Ttabbal
Categorically Worthless by s0niqu3

I recommend Cmenards bullet kernel. There the best for speed and battery life.

Personally if you're not planning on OCing my preference is always CwK(keep in mind that it is no longer supported by s0niqu3). If you do plan to OC my first choice is always TB.
- DOW was the first OC kernel flashed for me and I never really had any issues with it.
- Overstock is proven and stable, included in many ROMs as stock kernel and most people prefer it to others, just personal preference really. Good luck!
DOW and overstock are both great, but keep in mind that while bionix lists tthose as the compatible kernels, you can use several other kernels, those are just tthe ones they recommend.
Also keep in mind that that post is very old so there are plenty of great New kernels

When I ran Bionix, I used Overstock. I'm always a fan of cmenard's work, and that kernel ran great.

Bullet. No question about it.
Bullet is great, you can also check out the new bali-x oc/uv capable. Have fun test em out i swear i switched kernels every 2weeks but i always get stuck on bullet kernels..just pure speed

Overstock is not bad but its dated.

Eh nothing you will really notice. Don't expect a feature filled update.

Bionix-V is the older more stable version and the Bionix Frost is the newer, in Beta testing development version.
Another difference is that Bionix-V is based on the software that Samsung put on the Vibrant, while Frost is based on the software that is on the new Samsung Galaxy S 4G. Since the base for Frost was originally made for a different phone, more effort is required to make it work on the Vibrant.

Not disagreeing persay but Frost is just as stable. Only issue I've had is a slight menu lag.

I know its semi-counter productive...
But this has to be the 3rd+ post this past weekend regarding Bionix/Frost/2.2/2.2.1
and "whats the difference"
I'm sorry but the only way for be to access xda is by the app ans the search function on the apologize is $hit. If it wasn't I wouldn't have posted 3/4 of what I have. But on last question, what's the difference between 2.2 and 2.2.1

I personally like Bionix V. Been using Team Whiskey roms for a while now and they have yet to disappoint. In the end, its just a matter of preference.

Bionix-V seems to have very few bugs. The bugs people are reporting, most users cannot duplicate their problems. Frost, well it still needs some tweaking before it's ready as a "daily driver" as stable/fast as Bionix 1.3
i've tried both. after enabling voodoo on the latest frost, i've noticed a considerable difference from the initial build. bionix is ULTRA stable. there is no doubt that it is the more stable of the two. however, IMHO i haven't noticed a huge difference between the speed or usability of either...if you would rather deal with less "potential" bugs, then i would suggest you go with Bionix V.
OK, so it seems that Axura Roms are not being updated anymore! I am currently using Voodoo Axura 2.3.1.3 Rom and Kernel version 2.6.32.9 with KB5 Modem.
I would like to move on to a new Rom. Close to what Axura was. I like all the
custom stuff the Axura Roms had. So, I am asking what do you guys think would be the next best Rom for me to move on to? Must have Voodoo and no major bugs!
and things like Voodoo sound and themes would be a plus! thanks for the info and the help!
Peace out~

I'm using Bi Winning with the Bullet kernel. Fast as hell with great battery life and that's with it OC'd to 1.48ghz. No bugs at all, and there are several themes for it listed in the rom's op.
I switched to trigger from axura and I must say I'm very happy. Running it with overstock kernel and have all those extras you want and a nearly flawless vibrant.

I personally love Simply Galaxy. IMO best for my use. The blue black theming is great and its a super fast stable ROM.
They are all great. Try them out and see what you like. If you find that you like one developers releases or a dev team consider donating to them. If you want my personal opinion check out my sig.
On a side note wouldnt it be funny if someone named a ROM "ur mom" haha. People would be all "im currently flashing ur mom" & "i just flashed ur mom" lol haha.
- Or just "Rom"

The best advice is to try the roms for yourself. Everybody has different opinions on all the different roms there is. I know its time consuming but just read through their threads and see what the people running the roms have to say and just take the plunge and find out if you like it or not.

Kept Axura Rom but flashed a Overstock Kernel. Love the Voodoo sound and the overclock to 1.2g. Anyone know how the voodoo color works? Lol thanks

You have to turn the screen brightness all the way up. Doesn't do much with auto brightness enabled.

Overstock is good.
I had been running trigger 3.3 for a while now. Decided to try a something else. Flashed V and I really like it. I was wondering what kernels my fellow V brethren are using. Also anybody running ECOTOX's kernel? I lurk thru his thread and the guy seems really nice. Anybody have any experience with his kernel?
I stay pretty basic. Running Bali 1.8.7UV.
I run ECOTOX's DragonMODz ULP kernel for every 2.2 or 2.2.1 ROM I use. It's really great. I tend to get around two days on a charge.
Running Bali 1.8.7 un capped

Bali 1.8.7 uncapped. It does what it should do, and does it well.
All phones/users are different. experiment.
I'm using Immortality Kernel. It is very smooth and fast with this Kernel.

Hey guys, I've been flashing roms and kernels for a while now so i know how to do so. I was just wondering what kernel you guys are using right now and which one gives you best battery life. Currently I'm running Immortality v2 but i am getting persistent SOD's after a few hours of screen off. I would like something that could last me a whole day which is about 18 hours of just moderate texting and occasional browsing. I have tried the bali UV kernel but i cant get it to work for a full day for some reason.
Btw, I'm running bionix 1.3.1
I recommend Cmenards Overstock Kernel. In my opinion he makes the best ones around.
Simply Honey 3.9.1 powered by a 1.2ghz Bullet kernel..Simply Badass \m/
Bullet 1.42 bionix ng works perfect for me with heavy use tho dont expect to get through a whole day but on the other hand did I mention it was fast as hell!!

I go between Bali and Super DragonMODz. Both are great.
For those who say bali. Which one? The UV right? And it doesn't work with set cpu or volt. ctrl. So does it require any setup?

suggest wiping cache and reflashing , also try flashing bali 1.8 uv
I used the kernel flasher should I flash in red screen or do they do the same job?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
IMHO, its best to flash custom kernels with CWM Recovery, SGS Kernel Flasher is a great app, but it can be a little touchy at times. Also, drhonk builds those kernels solid, and i think they can withstand a bomb attack. But really, if Bali-X is giving you problems, then maybe you should try the regular Bali since some phones can't handle OC and/or UV.
