Hi guys my phone is in a bootloop and my battery died so I am unable to use RSD. The trouble I am having is that I am not able to power down fully on the charger (the phone starts up and goes into bootloop) and I have no way of knowing if the phone is charging. I do have the unlocked version of CWM installed and fastboot is working, what can I do to charge my phone?
I heard someone say once that they took the battery in to bestbuy or att?? I believe it was bestbuy and they charged it for them on a dock for free. You may have to try that.

I am the (un) lucky owner of a sgs2 since three days.
past days everything was fine, no probs. at all. Then this morning my phone isnt responding at all. wont go on, tried battery pull en stuff, nothing works. Is it possible it is broken after only 3 days?
are there any other tricks? anyone has the same problem?
or do i just have to go back to the store and get a new one? (problem is i bought it online so it will take a couple days for a new one )
thanks.

Hold volume down, home and power all at the same time, it should boot into download mode. If it doesn't I'd say it's dead
i tried but wont work...

Yeah that's probably a pretty good idea actually mate, try charging the thing before you make a total arse of yourself in the shop
did you charge the battery?
try another battery
LOL my SGS2 just did the same thing. I was gonna reboot it after having played around with default homescreen in default.prop, it had a 100% charged battery and now it won't start up again. Its completely dead. Not even download mode works...
Gonna try to leaving it without battery for a while or drain the battery somehow (with my tounge ) and try again. If that doesn't work, it's back to the store with this one. And it was all working so well until now...
EDIT: One hour later it magically started working again!!! I didn't do anything! just left it with the battery plugged in!
thnx im going to try charging it for a day, but i think its completely dead...
My brother's just told me that his S2 has died... he's not been able to get a 3G signal all day, and when he hard-reset the phone, it's come back with "Processing Error" and won't start.
just wondering if anyone is having trouble keeping a charge or even having the phone charge at all for that matter... phone was working perfect until about an hr or two ago... i downloaded that quickstrap recovery and busy box to change the vma deal... but that was it... i've already uninstalled busy box and all that already... i've tried doing the reboot in recovery but it don't work... anyone have any ideas or anything??? i've already downloaded the stock mopho deal to go back to stock everything if i have to... anybody???
if your photons battery is totally exhausted youll need to leave it plugged in for awhile without trying to turn it on.......plug it into the a/c outlet on the wall.....my photon doesnt like to charge off the usb coming from the computer either.....also try a diffewrent cord....the one that came with my photon stopped working for no reason about a week after I got the phone.....

well there's no reason for it to be exhausted... woke up with a full charge this morning and plug it up to my computer as soon as i get to work... hardly ever mess with it up here... just did a factory reset and its still not charging... so my guess is the usb port on it... =\ oh well... good thing i got a insurance thing when i got it at BB...

It sounds like there were some Photons shipped out with not so great batteries (different model numbers than others). I think taking the phone back into BB and at least getting a battery swap is good idea. Probably just coincidence happening when messing with the other stuff but at least that would tell you for sure.
My phone's not charging!!
It had 0% battery so it turned off. So I plug it into dock and it won't charge. I get a message saying:
'Modem Did Not Power Up (0)
Starting RSD Protocol support'
'Battery is too low to flash'
I then put it into my mains to charge and I get the same message!!
It's worth noting that I can still get into CWM and flash stuff. I tried to reflash ROM but no effect. I think my battery may have been miscalibrated so I have a bit of juice actually left.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Anything posted will be highly appreciated.
Plug it into the wall charger and walk away for a bit. I know its unnerving, but posting your problem in multiple threads won't get it fixed any faster.

Sorry for the multiple threads but I've tried that. Before it worked, but now, even that doesn't work!
Not sure if this will help but if you can get into CWM have you tried wiping battery stats, then leave it to charge switched off for a good half hour?
Also, might be a long shot but don't they say if a battery isn't going to be in use for a while put it in the fridge? Well I know this isn't the same situation for you but maybe put it in the fridge for an hour or two. Worth a try if you're totally desperate.
Hope this helps, I can imagine what you're going through. I've had a couple of near cardiac arrests when my battery got too low and it appeared not to charge again.
Good luck

Nothing at all. It just powered off due to low battery and bam, can't charge.
I spoke to a Motorola agent via Live chat and he said that my handset is faulty. I may have to use my warranty to get a replacement, but will the fact that the bootloader is unlocked void it? Despite this being a hardware failure?

Not necessarily! Warning on unlock says "MAY void your warranty". Quit being a scaremonger. How many reports have you seen of people having problems with warranty because they unlocked the bootloader?

I had the same problem with an extended battery. One day it just shut off after a couple hours and wouldn't turn back on despite having a near full charge. I popped in my original OEM battery and it turned on and started charging. Don't know for certain but maybe sometimes batteries just die because they're faulty. Do you have a spare battery to try? Any friends with an atrix who could lend you a battery for a minute? I was running cm7 alpha when the battery died so maybe it was a bug that blew the battery or something?

No, my charge cycle ended and when I tried to charge it, I got the error.
Many people have been PM'ing me on how I fixed this issue.
I didn't. I had to replace it with a new one via warranty. I tried to hide the fact that I had unlocked my boot-loader by pretending that I didn't know what it was.
If they do ask about the bootloader, then you can say that this is a hardware issue, not software, so the fact that the bootloader is unlocked has nothing to do with the modem not powering up.
The first step I did was to have a live chat with one of the Motorola engineers on their website. Once they told me that there was nothing that could be done, I printed out the chat session and requested a replacement in my Orange store and the promptly replaced it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, now I know what to do.
dont tell me ur phone just died just like that and not booting up. can u get to fastboot or recovery buy putting ur dad's charged battery too ?
need some help, have the same issue
i change between other atrix battery and the message continue to show.

Don't let your phone uncharged if you got 5% that's a warning sing you need to plug the charged the soon as possible i have so much problem with new photon because now. hopefully it save somebody time.
I have a rooted Photon that I let totally die one day by accident.
No problem - plugged in charger for awhile and it booted fine.

Hummm I have let my photon completely discharge for 2 or 3 times cause I had to calibrate my battery, never had a problem for doing it.
Never has a problem here either...

Has to be more to the story because many times mine has been drained to the point it shuts off and it's fine.
My first thought is something to do with if you've used the bootstrap recovery. That hijacks part of the boot process and wont allow the phone to be turned off and charge from a wall outlet but a USB outlet will work fine.
That's my 2 pennies ...

I remember readying something to where you have to jump start the phone. It had something to do with connecting to neg and pos on the battery posts on the phone. Try looking around for it. I too have drained my battery serveral times till it turns off and no problems.

i have had my mopho die quite a few times...alsmost every few days with no probs. not sure what happened with yours, but it is deff not and should not be an issue.
Yeah, I can't even count how many times I've used my phone till it turns off, and on a few occasions after having it turn off on its own I've turned it on again still without plugging in to try and kill it just a little more, for calibration ideas I had run across and was trying. Still wall charged and powered up without issue though.
Maybe you have a bad battery?

Hey, i just went through that. Mine was fine till I flew to the states and it started acting like that. I would charge it and it would say full but as I unplugged it, it would shut down. I wrote Asus and they immediately sent me an RMA. I even told them it was unlocked.

let us know how it goes. Asus may of had a change of heart concerning unlocked users based on the conditions of what's defective. good luck.
Will do. I told them several times it was unlocked but that has nothing to do with the condition of the battery I suppose. I guess if they say I owe some money for the repair then we will see right? Don't really care to be honest. I just want it fixed so I can go back to flashing new roms
They know it's unlocked the minute you provide the serial #. You don't have to tell them.
im having some of the same problems with my TF201prime my keyboard isn't charging for some reson which im not sure of my top tablet is charged to 100% but as im typing this my keyboard is running low & not charging WHY ? im thinking of getting another charger if that doesnt work im calling ASUS plus im unlocked i hope thy still help me if anyone knows whats going on with this please respond thank you plus the chargers are some of the cheapest made its really bad especially for the amount of money these things cost

Asus will support you even unlocked rooted or whatever.. but if the cause of the fault is anything to do with software, its just not covered by the warrenty..
Well just got an email saying its being shipped back to me. Woo hoo! I was monitoring the repair via their website and they had repairs complete for a while. Then it said ready for shipping. It stayed that way for 4 days. I was thinking they were gonna call and ask for some money or something.
I am glad and happy they fixed it and did not give me a hard time over it.
And by the way, I know they know its unlocked, I was telling this so they could let me know if It was still covered by the warranty and/or if it would cost me anything to have it fixed.
I knew it was the battery and not a software thing so I was gonna actually order another battery and replace it myself but this worked out for the better!
Anyways, good luck guys and when it arrives I will let u all know!
