[Q] Widget's - Optimus One, P500, V General

Im using CM7, when I long press on the homescreen or any screen for that matter to add widgets (perferably one's that I have downloaded from the market) I cant seem to find what I had just downloaded, the only widgets that show are the one's that came with the ROM. What could possibly be the problem as to why Im not seeing the widgets Ive downloaded from the market ?
Ive enclosed screenshots of the problem

Hey i see you used ginger break. man i have the app on my home screen but when ever i atemo to press the root nbtton i become hesitant because i hink my phone is gonna get bricked

Of you can't see the widgets that's strange I use mik cm7 and have all my widgets try re flashing the rom and make sure you wipe all your data first
As far as rooting I use z4root and it works fine you won't brick it just from rooting it its installing custom recoverys and rom that could brick it but really if you fallow the instructions its not that hard our a big deal you get get bricked if you fallow all the instructions and you will see a huge performance boost

Are they on phone memory? Widgets that are moved to sd card give problems.

You know I had set that all new applications be moved to external source, now that you've said something about it, I reflashed CM7 when I didnt need to, Im thinking about switching to OpenOptimus though, I like the scripts that he has running

I used Gingerbreak, my phone isnt bricked, Id recommend using Gingerbreak though, but Ive read a few posts that has specifically said not to use GBreak if you were running 2.2, but I had no problems with it. If this helped you at all, give thanks

Tried deVoid. froyo final, devoid franco. Still the problem persists. Help !

Hi guyz. I am a proud owner of optimus one. I have tried nearly 5-6 roms. But now i am facing a weird issue. I install a rom everytime by partitioning the memory card. converting it to ext3 then to ext 4. Wiping all data etc. But of late , i install devoid froyo final and franco devoid. I installed the rom, rebooted, then installed the kernel again. My launcher pro whose app drawer s silky smooth s very rough. Even the zeam launcher feels the same. I want to know is there a problem with the franco kernel or me ! Please help ! I think those two roms are the best ones i have tried !
If you don't have i high class sd card it could be that you're using ext4. Have you tried ext2 or 3 to see if it has the same effects?
I'm using launcherPro with devoid.
Try overclocking a little. LauncherPRO also has options to show how much memory it's taking up. Try toning down animations or 3d drawer.
Just saying, you need a partition ONLY if you use Apps2sd or Data2sd.
I overclocked with SetCpu. 729 max and 320 min and still no improvement. Can i install Devoid on ext 3 or ext 2?
I monitored the memory usage of Launcher pro. Its around 6700 KB. With 3D drawer off. please help
Any suggestions?

Yes you can set it to 320/729 but I recommend 480/729 (stable to me and faster). You can also replace SetCpu with NoFrills CPU free (imo it's better than SetCpu because it's not running in the background therefore less memory hog) If your using app2sd/data2sd you can use ext2, it's faster than ext4 and that might solve your problem of those apps. If your not using any kind of app2sd or data2sd or has no plans of using it then no need to create a partition at all.
You could use titanium back up to move the launcher to system apps if you think its a sd card speed problem. You will also free up space for user apps.

PROBLEM SOLVED
I was planing on sending the phone to repair on monday, but at the time and with the phone here i didn't want to give up so i thought of rooting it and reinstalling the firmware, but nothing worked and the phone didn't recognize that it was connected to a computer. So i kept search other ways to reinstall the firmware and came across a website that talked about a "secret menu" code for the phones and i remembered that this phones must had one and that from there i could do something, i did. From there i did a factory reset and, unlike the ones i did before by going to settings-privacy, when the phone rebooted it told me right way that it was connected to the computer. I also tested the problem with the screen light and so far, so good.
So, if anyone else has this problem(sannielyk reportedly had) what i did was entering the "secret menu" code : 3845#*500# and did the factory reset from there.
Apparently it was a software problem or something that wasn't installed right by the lg service. But so far everything is good, and i hope it keeps that away.
Thanks for the help

Try to flash Clockworkmod recovery, than go ahead and wipe/format everything besides the recovery partition. Then install franco's devoid and kernel. When flashing rom and kernel, reboot the system after each flash, let it settle down than reboot to recovery and flash the next thing on your list.
Do not overload your device with stupid apps like task killers or so, that could be a lot of pain in the a$$.
Cheers!
can't there be a problem of using too many partitions? or is it that ext-2,ext-3 are just names given to any partition regardless of the number??
enlighten me..

Ext2, ext3, ext4 are different linux partition TYPES, not the number of partitions. Google for more information on differences between the three.

If nothing is working then the only inference is that what you think are 'stutters' are normal. Ignore it.

For cm7 by mik
There's a way keep launcher in memory all time you can try that.
Cm setting > performance > lock home in memory. You can try that.

Well... I'm far from an expert in here since I've only had my P500 for like two weeks, but in my humble opinion if after trying different ROMs and advice from the forum the problem persists this might very well be a hardware problem, probably at the CPU or GPU level.
karthikus... have you tried any ROM that has Hardware Acceleration disabled? or have you tried turning HW Acc off? What about games??
its faulty phone, brick it somehow and get pcb replaced :|

Cant get past boot screen

Now I am doing something wrong becuase this has happened to me on three different roms a number of times after I odin each one. I cant get past the boot screen. I have tried alot of roms and this is never happened before. So I am guessing I must be doing something wrong over and over. I am not sure if it is the off market apps. I know for a fact when I installed a keybaord off my sd card this happened. But I got rid of it and the apps I install have always worked so I am stuck as if what I am doing to cause all my downloaded and flashed roms to freeze at boot while disllaying thier boot screen that even doing a wipe does NOT fix it. Once it freezez at boot i have to odin and this has happend on three different 2.3.5 roms so I am not sure what to do now.

I install market and off market apps that I know for a fact did caused this before but i got rid of that one
I overclock to only 1.2
I do system settings like sound and tweaks cm has in these rooms

[HELP]Sony Home launcher forgets apps order

I'm on stock Android 2.3. I've been using the launcher since I've installed 2.3 and it always forgets the order in which I arrange my apps.
It forgets when the phone restarts or switched off...
I even tried reinstalling 2.3, now I've rooted it and xRecovery installed.
Version :2.0.A.0.22
I'm fed up with this
Please help me!!!
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
when it restarts? damn this is bad! it does this too me aswell but only if its stuck somehow or if i connect to the pc and it reads from the sd card or something like that!
i was fed up too so i decided to arrange the icons by those i use the more...
Had the same problem.
Looks like the problem occurs with long loading of the sd card
i bought a new 16gb 4 class cars and it didnt cure it.
Try flashing [ROM] Wolfs TW Gingerbread it worked out for me. Also try to change sort order.
Its really irritating. Slows the phone down a lot. Also if I keep some shortcuts on the screen they all take their time to load up!
That's why I dont use the stock launcher.
Miss TimeScape though!

[Q] Question About Verizon Samsung Fascinate

Hi guys..
Sorry for wasting your time again..
Got a few question, jsut flashed my phone to gingerbread stock verizon..
I would actually want to ask what can i do to my phone after i root it?. i mean what will be the changes, cause i really can't understand the advantages of being rooted. they said there will be more options.
but what are those option?.. you mean i can download more apps in android market?.. am i right?..
also i have a question about the place where can we download full version apps games, i was informed about blackmart.. is that safe?..
also about the droidwall, someone told me if i rooted my phone, i can get that, and it seems to be very usefull to what she said..
Thankyou for responding to my question.
appreciate it so much..
also wants to confirm if verizon fascinate really doesn't have front camera cause im having hard time using the yahoo messenger video call only black screen
More Power Guys!!!
Rooting gives you the ability to modify your file systems, install custom roms, as well as apps that could not normally be installed on your phone. There is no front facing camera on your phone. You really need to ditch the gingerbread you ate using noe and follow the guide to get any of the android 4.0 roms that are on the site. You will understand why rooting is so nice when you are able to use one of those roms. You can install droidwall once you are rooted. If you are looking for free apps on the internet other than the play market, try using Google, it really works.

Rooting will allow you to do more to and with your phone than was intended. First and foremost for me it was being able to remove Verizon bloatware. You can install Custom Roms either Gingerbread or ICS, make tweaks to the phone that will make it run more effective and efficient. Either way, if you are going to root, the next thing you should learn about is making a Nandroid backup. This way you can always go back to where you were when you first started and then do it all over again to your liking. Have fun.
I too wanted to get rid of the bloatware. By putting on a ROM like Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4) on my phone I don't feel the need to upgrade. The developer activity is very good on this phone so the performance of the roms is great.

Clock on Verizon Note 2

OK, I've been searching all night both here and on Google, and my eyes are starting to blur.. I may be searching the wrong phrase I don't know.. But here's the deal.. I'm using a Note 2 that I got used for an awesome price ($25). It works like it's brand new and so far I'm loving it! I'm on the stock 4.3 mj9 firmware, rooted with saferoot, running safestrap 3.72 (twrp 2.7.0.0). I don't have the funds to send it to Texas for the bootloader unlock, so I'm testing out other touchwiz ROMs in slot 1. I'm not new to the process of rooting and flashing, so I'm not concerned on that account..
But what has got me flummoxed at the moment is the irritating clock that comes stock.. Granted I used cm10 through 12 on my Droid RAZR for years before I got the Note so I got used to a few things and don't like change.. So my question here is, is there any way at all to install a status bar/notification clock that has the same functionality as the cm deskclock? Or even the same look? Right now I have a shortcut to the stock clock on my homescreen but that feels like a clunky workaround solution to me.. I pulled the deskclock.apk from the cm12 that's on the RAZR and sent it to my Note, but when I move it to system\app and install it, it says something like Clock has failed.. I installed it, and deleted every instance of the apk from internal memory but still have it on my SD card in hopes somebody will be able to explain it to me..
Also, is there any way to install a flashlight/torch tile to the notification panel?
Am I out of luck? Am I better off using widgets on the homescreen? Should I install a custom ROM? Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated.. So are ROM suggestions.. I know Dev on this phone has kinda halted due to the bootloader lock, but it's still an awesome device with a lot of power and potential!
Thanks in advance XDA!

Also the phone is just being used as a WiFi device, so if there are any compatible ROMs out there that don't have the phone and messaging software I'd like to take a look at those.. Maybe I should just learn how to build my own ROM..
