Hey whats up guy?
all this Temp-Root and ADB, and bat.file's, and what not is relatively new to me...seeing that ive never needed to use it previously, im kinda paying the ultimate price for it now LOL...So, yesterday i used "Wisefire's" Temp-Root method and it worked perfectly...but now im looking to use the OC bat.file that was included in the zip.....ive tried other method of Temp-Root and changed my uder variables and what not and my PC became a huge mess.....but with alot of help from the guys in that thread we got things worked out and i was able to run the bat.file just fine....now i seem to be getting the same error in the CMD and im not sure where to go from there to resolve the issue.....i keep getting a "NO SCRIPT OR DIRECTORY" error......ill attach a SS of the CMD and what it keeps giving me....if anyone can help me resolve this or maybe even stir my to a differ method of using SETCPU to OC my device, i'd be grateful for that.....thanks guys......i really appreciate it
I was having that exact same problem..i couldnt fig it out for nothing..i still dont know how i got it to work...i just tried extracting the overclock bat in the unzipped easy frevo file and when it asked to replace i said no and it send me back to the easy frevo file folder and i did process and it work..same thing worked with my wifes..so wierd..i dont know if ur using windows but u could try it..lol
EDIT ....I have heard problems with OC in yesterdays easy frevo..there is and updated one with frevo, OC, and bloat from today that one is one that worked for me

Ok lemmi take a shop at this.
1. Make sure you have the right .KO file! There is one for non-ota and phones that have takes the ota (over the air update)
This is the command I used and got it to work.
adb push 8x60_oc.ko /data/local/tmp/
adb shell insmod /data/local/tmp/8x60_oc.ko scpll_l_val=33 vdd_uv=1375000
Make sure to change the .ko name to the one you have. You can simply edit the .bat and use these lines.
Good luck hope it helps!
oc app.
could someone please tell me the best overclocking app.to use for my evo3d,i searched a couple but some had bad reviews or didnt even list the evo3d as being compatable.

It's very device and "needs" specific. Everyone is different. If you're looking for the best battery life go as low as you can tolerate. If you're looking for speed crank it as high as you can without the phone locking up or getting sluggish, and play around with conservative/on demand governors. Avoid performance governor.

Performance governor just clocks your cpu @ the max wether needed or not and yeah the phones are all different. Well made, but still made by people and machines. So there's still some variance. I'm a phone geek by hobby but manufacturing specialist by trade lol. Anyways, glad to help.

No prob man. Glad you got it worked out. Also if you plan on experimenting with the overclock and underclock make a mental note to be by a pc/laptop. I say this because if you go to high your phone could freeze and lock up requiring a battery pull this applys with the underclock as well. If it does freeze up and you have to do a battery pull it will mean reboot and you will loose root and have to do your choice of rerooting and reoverclocking. Also I'd recommend reading the overckock thread to look at some members experience with overckocking and underclocking to get a general idea of were to start. Well hope this helps.

I had an earlier bat file that worked for rooting but the overclock wouldn't.
I took the working bat file and edited it. I then copied the first line (where it had cd) to the other bat file.
Worked great.

No, it won't let me go higher than 993 mhz
if decrease the clock speed to the max of 600mhz,will it save more power?
yeah tried as well and the max is 993mhz. weird
(unless i'm missing something, I never used setcpu before)
I use OverclockWidget for my wife's X10.
Off screen frequency : 250~384
On screen frequence : 576~1000Mhz
it work like charm !
but your not going over 1000mhz? not overclocking

Well, I just leave it set to "ondemand", so that way it will automatically adjust the speed as needed (Max: 998MHz, Min: 245MHz). My max is 998MHz.
what firmware we can use? which is highly recommended? R2BA026?
SetCpu and more, can we use Juice defender to increase autonomy

you know the phone does that anyway right?
I don't speak French so I can't comment on that but I've been using SetCPU since the 020 root and it SEEMS to work alright. Sometimes when I open it, it says something about failing but then it works OK.
I'm currently on R2BA026 rooted and it works for me. I also use JuiceDefender but to be honest I'm getting more and more convinced that's not helping any more. JuicePlotter in particular is struggling and keeps stalling, with gaps in the graph frequently, not sure why but that's not relevant to this thread so I'll leave that.
But I do NOT use it to overclock and would not recommend that! For a start, it would cane the battery. Rather, I use it to "throttle" the CPU speed. I think that's what most of us use it for. E.g. when the screen is off, it stops the CPU working too hard (and thus saves battery). Also when power is running low, CPU is throttled to save it. By throttled I mean "restricted to 245Mhz".
It's free to XDA members because the dev kindly put it up here somewhere for download - if you're looking for "how that works" on the Market, stop now because that's not how it works! The Market doesn't give you a discount for being on XDA.
Just search for it on here, or wait for someone who has used it to point you in the right direction. I'd search for it for you but I'm about to head out.

I've used SetCPU for a few weeks and now I've been using my X10 without SetCPU for a few weeks and I've noticed zero difference in power consumption.
I'm guessing Android does a fine job itself at downclocking the CPU when it doesn't have to do heavy tasks.

Same here. i just uninstalled it and my phone is also more stable.
Ok so i have 3 questions in 1 thread!
I have a X10 mini pro 2.1 (U20i):
1- Has anyone "currentwidget" working on this phone?!
I installed it and the widget shows always Error (i have root access).
Any help is appreciated!
2- How to maximize battery consumption!?! It's barely holding 15hrs of minimal use!!! Wiped the battstats and didn't have so much improvement!
Any help is appreciated!
3- I need arabic support for the phone! Does somebody have it working?!? Where can i find libs, frameworks...?!
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

I'm guessing like the other 50+ viewers they didn't know what you were asking until they actually viewed your post. Consumption, Battery, Arabic doesn't give much away. For all we know, you could have been asking about memory usage, buying a new battery, and an arabic font pack!

Ok, this is the solution to about half of your problems .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=263#td_post_81
And let's see if I can answer those questions!
1. It does not work, at least the one in the market... It's for the nexus one, there is a ported version for the vibrant too, but I'm not sure if it will work either. Anyway, it's a bit of a stupid program, go buy System Panel.
2. It is more about running proceses than anything. Best app you could download to see what is running wildly, System Panel (and yes, pay for it), or just take some other task killer, like Advanced Task Killer, and see what runs without you wanting too. You should uninstall that crap. Start with Timescape. That app is truly pure crap.
Ah, also, put the widget Power Control (which come included) and try to keep everything deactivated as long as you can. Each of those things SWALLOW battery, more than eat. Put APNdroid, and keep internet deactivated too. Download Setcpu (it's free in this forum) and put the minimum Hz to 128 (the minimum you can put).
What else... eliminate all the SE **** you can and whenever you are not using the phone, kill all the running apps with Advanced Task Killer. Or you can use Autokiller, didn't work for me.
Put a battery percentage icon too. You will notice when something is eating your battery with it. If you don't want a theme, use Battery Indicator.
3. Sorry, don't know what the hell I could use that for. Open a thread for this.
EDIT: looked att your profiel, and man, you are no noob, why the hell are you asking how to improve your battery? It is a standard, androids consume if you let them, nothing else. If you really need battery, underclock it with setcpu and problem solved.

First of all thanks for your reply!
About current consumption I'll try also "battery monitor widget" to see if it works!
Man i asked those bcz i'm not a perfect noob (we all are noobs at some point); i'm concentrating my efforts on my HD2 and i dont have so much time for this X10 minipro; so i asked bcz maybe there is some kind of a trick or a known bud/problem that may decrease battery consumption!
About downclocking, my own experience (and many others) shows that it doesn't affect battery much (barely 5 to 10% so it's not worth it) and besides it introduces instabilities so i prefer not to tweak anything about CPU.
However i thank for re-introducing the autokiller memory to my mind bcz i completely forgot it although i'm using it on my HD2!!! hahaha
Oh, no problem then, dude ^^ mm downclocking does work for me, i believe :/ anyway, the best memory optimizer is autokiller, trust me in that see you around!!

To me the name this thread looked as if you´ve found a piece of software which solves these three problems.
Just to address your battery problem - no there is no solution unless you cut off data transmission or use GPRS instead of 3G. 15 hours is decent time.
Can´t say anything about Arabic, though.

My battery lasted many hours longer after disabling data traffic. I only enable data traffic when needed then immediately disable it again. There's a built in widget to enable/disable data traffic.

Idea for App:
Basically what I am looking for the app to do is incrementally raise the min and max settings for the CPU, change CPU governor to performance, and run stress test for 30 seconds to 1 minute. It would then repeat until all speeds are verified as good or the phone freezes or reboots. If either occurs then the app would tell the user the last speed that was stable. See here for what I posted in the Vipermod thread for more info of what I am talking about.
Is this possible? Has it already been made and I just can't find it?

onl difference is you gotta step up... just do a native test per step... just because your phone can hit the frequency and survive doesnt mean that the CPU can have a load off with that step and then poof... . but yea... buy SetCPU, no more thread response.

I was hoping you would at least do what you said and not reply to this thread anymore since you offer nothing. But since you can't I will explain. If you still don't understand then please follow your own advice.
I am requesting an app. Whether I can or cannot do the same thing with SetCPU is irrelevant. Not just me but a bunch of people are using the flashable overclock daemon for whatever the reason may be. I know I can manually change the settings to find out. I do not want to and I expect it is the same for others. Just as I use Battery Calibrator to remove the batterystats.bin file because it is easier to push a button and have it do the work, I want a program that will do what I am asking by just pushing a button rather than having to go through the terminal or install SetCPU.

yea i know what you mean... sorry, i really was being a bit of an ass now that i reread it. what you want is something to go to next step, benchmark, go to next step benchmark, and continue to do so until the phone cant handle it.
the problem is, [now this im not 100% but its an assumption], that the daemon is specifying a max value. So I can come up with two scenarios.
1.Though it isn't INSMOD (like the LoadableKernelModule) , it is defaulted on boot through init.d script. The only way to reload those scripts, would be to reboot. Perhaps a hot boot may work. So you would need the app to rewrite wake_max_freq, then reboot... then somehow test it (just a cpu load test app). the script would then need to change the default value to a higher one from a list [the one it just stepped up to], and then tell it if AndroidBoot=Fail to revert to last step (which it probably wont be able to do since the phone would lock on boot since you can default a frequency that is too high). Seems like alot of time to me...
2.I took too long to type this and forgot #2
i know it will eventually be done through a real OC'ing script ... but seriously... whats so bad about testing your device?i can test every step (starting at 192) in less than two minutes. Idk i may just be being a hardass since I find that a user should always test his labors. a computer can only say or show so much, your eyes and intuition cannot be processed.
Ok. Didn't realize it requires a reboot. From what it looked like to me it just read the 6 text files and ran it in real time. If it does require a reboot then I can see the problem you are talking about with having it boot loop every time it starts up after the bad setting is ran. Going to have to look some more into how the init.d is set up. Looks like I may just need to learn some shell scripting.

its not that its that all 3 of those scripts do alot of the same thing. i gave priority to supercharger since it lets you edit the stuff then merged the rest. i fixed the min cpu freq and a few other things and took out the reniceing script since i dont think things should be reniced that low. also i dont know about this deepsleep script and battery life. wouldnt this while 1 loop keep it from sleeping? either way when i work it out i can make a zip of them

Ha ha...here I am giving suggestions and u said some things I couldn't understand HA.
I have no clue what renice does...I don't have that script tho...if I had it I would have research it first...I only have navens scripts...and I know how to edit them ...and also remove if I ever run v6 again(which I will)
Wish I had an explanation on remixes....renices
reniceing is when you take the current nice value and change it. pretty much the lower the nice value the higher priority it is for time slicing. -20 is the "highest" and i think its way too high. i havent fooled around with phones but if you did something like that on a computer, all hell would mostlikely break loose. also ive notices the deep sleep throttles the 2nd core pretty hard.
All I can say about battery is I got best after I stopped gmail from.sync unless I made it sync. Also only sync priority inbox.
And changed those values in cpufreq....I got 11hrs of heavy usage...not serious heavy usage but heavy...every hour I was on internet at LEAST. Played couple games...checked gmail...(I did kill data and wiring on screen off tho) texts and calls every few hours...on wifi 75% of time.
That was before stopping gmail from constant sync....tomorrow should be better
i just posted in the road runner thread since its where this belongs. check it out if you want my minor updates

Lol, your messing with the CPU with SetCPU, and you posted an issue about a bootloop, are you serious?
use the search function, wipe your phone completely, and dont mess with the CPU voltages.
Questions go in the question and answer section. When u provide a bug report or ask for assistance u have to provide more details than this. Unless it's a known bug, u should tell whoever yer asking for help what kernel u were running, if u had flashed any scripts or anything that may have led to the issue, if u did a full wipe before flashing, if u undervolted or underclocked, and if u had set your values to start up automatically on boot. As much information as u can give will help whoever is looking at your post diagnose what may have gone wrong.
Some more info will help us to help u.

Thank you for not being a total jackass like a lot of people I was running setcpu at 1600-200 mhz, governer conservativ, I/o noop, no other changes I flashed from ultimatum 2.0 rc1- to ultimatum 2.1 using cwm no other objects flashed. As soon as it booted and said setcpu has been granted su access it restarted loop the finally black screened and I had to go to download mode and reflash stock root. If any other info has been left out just ask I work all night and I want to get into programming. I do plc programming on robotic equipment at my job and its fairly similar just more portable and if someone will move this to Q&A that would be great

Ive never understood why people use setcpu... just curious try setting tthe same settings with voltage control... see what happens... if u get bootloops maybe your chip doesnt like oc/uv..
im on my phone. expect terrible typos.

+1 I ran it back in the day, it worked with GB roms ok but I started having issues with reboots and read that set CPU is known for causing some issues

I have already switched to voltage control and it gives better battery, much more stability, no boot problems, and so much more pros vs very little cons (only thing I have found is no stress test for CPU and your settings) and thanks for the reply I can now post future problems on your developer thread
att sgh-i777 running ultimatum 2.1
