Simplest temp root - HTC EVO 3D

What is the easiest method of rooting where I can add wireless tether and over clock?

There are no less then 3 "easy root" threads in the developement section which include overclocking...and there are several more threads regarding tethering. You just have to search a little for the answers you're looking for. Hope this helps steer you in the right direction.

RECAP: Where are we at?

I have been following the forums but have been away for a little while. There are now quite a bit of threads, many of which seem to be ideas and suggestions.
So just as an answer in one place.... do we have Wi-fi and/or GPS for the Niki? Is there a solution?
There is a sticky post right at the top of this subforum.
Why open an new thread instead of read there.
that sticky is the particularly long thread with a lot of ideas and whatnot that I was referring to. Without reading all of that, do we have a solution? It looks like NO.
You should wast some time reading and not creating a new thread!

Quick answer: NONE YET
Thank you DaVince. That's all I was looking for.

[Q] Being able to find the basics

It seems as the community grows that more people are in search for the very basics of getting started with modifying their G-Tab. Instead of searching through hundreds of posts is there a way to have the basic threads always on top?
Ex. How to in install clockwork
How to install a ROM
How to NVFLASH
How to get back to stock
Having posts like this in the beginning of a forum should help limit the amount of duplicate requests for things. I am no expert. I am not a Dev. But I am not an idiot either. I have had to search for basic things like how to properly configure a GPS to the G-Tab. After going through about ten pages I finally found that I was looking for. Again this is just a thought.
dgondrez,
In the developers sections you will find a good amount of 'Stickies' that tell how to do all of the things you are asking for. They are very handy and usually kept updated so you don't have to read hundered's of posts to find the information you need, it is kept in the first post of the thread.

[Q] is there any way to root GS2 with android 2.3.6?

I tried all methods I can find, but seems they don't work with android 2.3.6.
Great 1st post, newb. Now go back out and look around, pay attention to the stickies, do some reading and you might find your answer. Then smack yourself in the forehead for making your first post a lame one that could have easily been answered had you just put in some effort.
Go here and read 2C
there is also other ways
This should help you, right above 2a.) in red it tells you how to do it....good luck

You need a goat, an altar, and a ceremonial blade. Once the goat is on the altar, you'll need to sacrifice it to the gods of Reading, Comprehension, and Common Sense. They'll imbue you with their basic skills such as reading, in which you'll then use that skill to actually find your answer on the first page of this forum.

One of our other users said it perfectly.
Seriously, it's a damn sticky at the top of this forum. There are four methods listed, two of which work for KK6. Plenty of other methods exist if you don't mind tripping the flash counter.
Come on his dude was in the why the attitude thread last night, made anew account with the name newbieee and posted about rooting 236...
Id bet money on it

Process of rooting. How is it done?

Hi,
I hope anyone who is familiar with rooting could help me answer this question. What I am looking at is how some of the contributors here are able to create a step by step guide to rooting a particular phone for a particular build.
What are the files that are needed and what are the steps needed after obtaining such files? I am very interested to learn about the process to rooting and would like to seek help and advice in this area.
Thank you in advance!
Yitch
Oh boy. Welcome to xda, Yitch. It's hard to search for stuff sometimes on the xda app (which I'm on), so I can't help point you... But it's here, if you search for it. Please read up on the "New to xda" threads that are also all over here. Because you need to know the better you back up your questions with what u have done to look for the answer yourself, the more potential help you will get with an answer. Search here and on google, you will find your answer. Kind of like asking where to get a cup of coffee when there's a caffe shop just down the street. Also search for tutorials and guides for learning the Linux code Android is based on, cuz you will need to refer to it to really begin to understand. That, and time. Most who are knowledgeable enough to write those guides up so we all can understand have a lot of time logged into writing and editing code...which does not come easy. I guess what I'm telling you is, the info is all out there, but no one will be able to give you a quick and easy answer. This is gonna take time for you (and anyone) to really get a working knowledge you're looking for. Sorry I can't help more. Good luck.

[Q] Help please need a good tutorial on how to root

ok
1) Nobody's going to help you on TeamViewer. Every single guide on rooting this phone here is easy to follow provided you take the time to understand it before you 'do'.
2) I strongly suggest you remove your email address from your OP unless you'd like it to become a spam magnet ?
3) We're not going to regurgitate stuff that's been asked/answered here thousands of times over the almost 3 yrs since this phone was released. We have stickied threads with all the info you need so we don't have to post this stuff over and over (hint: stickied thread near top of Q&A has a simple root method).
Edit - 4) And I can't stress the following enough; if you find the info on this site too complicated, do not attempt to root your phone. You will likely break it. I have seen thousands of people like you do exactly that over the two & a bit years I've been here. Search, read, learn, do.
