[Q] flashing stock from gingerblur

i have recieved the link for beta update file from another forum. I want to update my atrix but i am not really comfortable in my flashing abilities. I am currently running gingerblur 7.7, if i press the factory reset button from the settings menu will i end up with a bricked phone?
Your best bet is to flash the stock sbf found in the dev section, then update. Keep in mind you won't be able to root the phone afterwards. Just follow the directions and you're golden.
My advice is to wait until all the updates are included in Gingerblur unless you're haveing a specific problem you know the update will resolve.

[Q] Thunderbolt stock gingerbread

Quick question(s).
1) What steps do I take to throw my phone to completely stock (Im running bamf 1.6.3) in order to receive the OTA properly?
2) Any new news on when gingerbread is coming out for the tbolt?
I do have a nand of stock root on my phone, so after I restore that (if thats what i should do) how to i remove root so i can get gingerbread OTA correctly?
As for the reason I'm wanting to do this is because I want to try out the stock gingerbread and I don't like to upgrade android without an OTA, once I get sick of it I will be re-rooting it.

Ota won't roll out for a couple weeks. There's a thread to get you back to security on. I think it's in general.
I'm not really sure what is to be gained by un-rooting, doing the ota update, then rooting again. Other than DRM stuff while you are not rooted (google vids, blockbuster, etc).
I'm sure the stock GB ROM with root will be available here before the OTA upgrades start, certainly no later.
Of course it's your preference, I'm just curious.

1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009423 will get you back to where you're looking to go.
2) ETA on the OTA is all rumor and speculation but the latest rumor and speculation is end of June. I think someone has concrete info from Verizon that said sometime in 2nd qtr but that's a pretty broad spectrum.
*Usually the OTA leaks before it's actually pushed out by Verizon and we get to play with it for awhile before the rest of the world sees it (it shows up in development.) The MR1 is a good example of that...it was a carbon copy of the leak (and the nand root that you have.) I know it's completely your decision but you'll probably be able to run the OTA for awhile before it actually gets pushed out by Verizon if you stay rooted. You just have to wait for the devs to say it's ready to go for rooted phones (which is usually right after th leak hits the light of day.)

Update from at&t

Hello I am on nottachtrix 1.3.1 and I get all the time the update message from at&t. Can I install that update, or will that brick my phone?
If I install that update, what's about my data?

New and Running T-Mobile on AT&T Note

Just a few questions. Running Tmobile stock rooted on the I717 is great but makes me a bit nervous as to what i can and can't do with this phone. I am running the UVLG3 with the T879UVLG3 baseband. and just got an update notification. so was wondering.
1. If i update will it brick the phone. tmobile update as that is what the phone id ID'd as.
2. If i do update and all goes well, i am sure root will be gone. Can i just odin recovery image and flash root through that?
3. if there a way to get the phone to not receive the updates on this rom?
4. Since i have the Tmobile modem, can i flash 4.2.2 ATT roms or any other ATT roms or will that cause issues?
Thanks for the help, just want to get rid of the annoying update reminders in the notification bar.

Help Updating to JB from ICS

I have a Razr XT912 running on 4.0.4 via 6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.ed.us. I was rooted but unrooted to install the update but the update fails no matter what. Im fairly certain its because i removed bloatware/stock apps instead of freezing them.
Does anyone have their system/preinstall pre-update that I could use to restore all the bloatware???
I know I can fastboot it back but I would much rather not lose all my data.
Thanks.
EDIT: and im trying to do this OTA btw
bump. anyone? dont feel like losing all my app data
