[Q] Red Pill ROM? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I saw in Development someone posted a link to Dorian's Red Pill ROM. However, when I go to look at it, I don't see what the ROM is. Just instructions on how to install, and some screenies.
What does this ROM do differently than the standard Moto-Bread build Ken gave us? Does it de-Blur it, turn our Atrixes into blenders?

I been looking my self I have no clue the dev who posted it didnt give
much info.
Looking into it.
Edit ok we both overlooked the link for the rom here
http://www.atrixforums.com/forum/motorola-atrix-roms/3282-rom-redpill-beta-v2-7-14-a.html

I don't know the full changelog but I can tell you that its running flawlessly for me! Super fast, responsive, and partially de-blurred.
Currently running RedPill v2 w/ 4.5.9.1 radio + faux123 kernel OC @ 1100 mHz w/ goLauncher and it's soooooo smooth!

What's deblurred on it? All I saw was that he deleted social networking.

BlurHome has been removed. BlurContacts is still there.
There are still some blur components on it but Dorian is hoping to continue de-blurring as much as possible.

I believe so. You can go read through the thread to see if anyone else has but I believe it calls for a full wipe so you should be good to go.

[Q] Best Stable Vibrant ROM?

I just need a stable 2.2 ROM, preferably with a 1.4 GHz overclock.
Stable roms (that I've tried) - Bionix, Trigger, and Bi-Winning
Since you want to OC, you need a custom kernel (i think all those roms just come with Stock voodoo). Any OC that you will do will not create a stable environment for your Vibrant (everyones CPU is built differently so results will vary). Basically, OC and Stable do not go in the same sentence.

Bionix NextGen 1.3.2 with whatever overclock kernel is recommended.
Hands down.
I'm not currently using it for testing purposes (and because the theme sucks so hard, sorry TW, I love you but you gotta admit that ****'s ugly.)
Try SGS II clone V2. It's stable, and looks great. I'm running with an Overstock kernel.

I've found on my vibrant that a 1.4ghz overclock is too much.. 1.2 is stable though.
I'm using the trigger rom it runs great with of but you don't need to overclock to 1.4 to improve overall smoothness

Im running bionix next generation with bullet kernel and get a qs score of 2600 or better and is fast as hell and very stable! Been running it for about a week with no freezes or crashes battery life isn't all that great though only downfall. Lol

What is the best rom for Motorola Atrix AT&T

Hi guys, I want to know what is the best rom for AT & T Atrix, I tried cherryblur 1.4d, but I have reboots, tried another rom cherry kernel-AT & T but does not work lapdock.
I have the Atrix rooted with the bootloader unlocked, is there any way to install the official rom without getting a hard brick?
Thanks,
Alex
It depends what you are looking for. Its really trial and test to are what you prefer.
ninja rom worked well for me.
I'm currently using Alien Rom and its a beast. Using faux's kernel.

i prefer alien ROM. i think kenn'll pull us through this mess of too many ROMs and be the top dog.
alien is meh
i like cherry better
its all personal preference
Im on Alien about to get on faux's Kernal. Did anyone notice that the menu button unlocks the phone too?? and in my camera/camcorder res settings i cant see ne thing but the green dots on the right until i click and hold. its like white text on white bg til i click. ive had some apps fc too just hoping the cache gets filled pretty fast as i read being deodexed the system cache needs to be built up and the os will run fast
I might just try Ninja rom. I seen that 1 first and then i seen the new alien. i love cwm :-D
I'm rockin Cherryπ right now....haven't gotten around to flashing a kernel yet.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
not sure why you would like cherry better. i'm not crazy about navalynt. i think alien has a lot more potential if kenn gets on another dev to work with; seems as though he's too busy for his own ROM.
πCrust totaly a winner! Fast, stable, froyo like battery life, no FCs. Perfect!
I'm on CherryBlur last version, and very happy.
Do you think its worth to move to Alien ? its way better ?

Most of the theme related aspects I want are either in the ROM already or I use GO Launcher EX. The only thing I'd like to add, theme-wise, is a transparent status bar. Which, if anyone can do or knows where to find, would be cool?

[Q] Best ROM For Atrix 4G

What do you guys think the best ROM for the Atrix 4G is? I was using Neutrino 2.1p and then jumped on the ICS bandwagon with the ICS port (Its still in Alpha - heavily under development).
Neutrino has to be one of the best ROM's I've ever experienced. It's well maintained and has a host of performance improvements.
The ICS alpha is going well but its a long way away from matching the maturity of Neutrino.
Neutrino v2.2 with faux123 latest kernel at 1.45ghz ROCK solid performance.

Do you have it OC'd at 1.45? How's the stability? I used Neutrino GT OC'd at 1.3 and it was super stable.
i was almost on every rom and i still think that stock rom is the best...
maybe MIUI...when it'll come out on a full version and not alpha/beta.
If you can do without a camera the alpha 7 build (non 2d version) has been pretty solid
I have Arabic rom with Faux kernel 1.3 OC with full Ubuntu for Webtop and I am happy

CM7 (weekly builds have fingerprint unlock) is the best.

In my personal tests, Alien works the best for me. I tried CM7, did not like it whatsoever. Neutrino, surprisingly, wasn't giving me very good performance. All in all I think Alien in the best...if only it had stable HDMI mirroring...

If you like all the functions of your Atrix working.
Wet Dream or The Dark Side are the best in my opinion.
Both are by the same dev and are fast and stable for me.
Right now I'm playing with cm9 kang until I need camera
Currently running Jokersax cm9 kang alpha 0.23.2

I'm currently using faux123's 023 kernel and I was wondering if there's a big difference between that and 024r? Thanks.
I'm a fan of MIUI, has a nice clean, finished look to it. However a little bit too iphoneish so I replace the launcher.
ICS rom is coming along very nicely, in fact I obtain the best battery life of any Atrix rom, including stock, while running ICS. This is fantastic since it's still just in the alpha stages and will only improve from here.

[Q] best Atrix custom Rom that supports webtop

I have been playing around with a lot of custom roms. I probably liked MIUI or CM7 nightlies the best but neither of them supported webtop. I went back to Aura to get a web2sd running XFCE4 for me. THe problem is that the last Aura rom runs 2.3.4 and after using CM7 this seems painfully outdated. Any suggestions for the best of both worlds?

Gingermod, epsilon or nottachtrix
Hello, I had been using Gingermod for a while and it's based on 2.3.6 the only thing that I modified is the kernel using faux's kernel!
I'll give gingermod a shot.
Ubuntu was an OK solution. It was a bit laggy and annoying to use. I couldn't get web2sd to work on noattach and my battery life wasn't great on it, but I was using a 1.3ghz kernal

Webtop on nottach's rom is the same as in a stock 2.3.6, I have not detected any difference at all between them in that respect. You might have needed to upgrade the osh to 2.3.6 if you had not done so.
It is possible that the webtop2sd script relies on something that is not the same in those (I do assume the webtop2sd works on 2.3.6). You might try asking that question over there (or on nottach's website).
If the vnc app runnimg on a mirrored dock in CM9 did not look like garbage I would consider switching over to that. But for now I will stick to nottach's, and webtop is most of my concern.

and change permission of busybox
it will work perfect after that

Is there a stock 2.3.4 kernel zip?

I switched to the 2.3.5 build (MoFo 2.3.5ish) and it seems to be running good but the only kernel I've found listed as stable is Jokersax's 1.3 Blur kernel. Is there a zip I can flash containing the actual 2.3.4 kernel that came with 198_6? My battery life is terrible with Joker's 1.3 so I wanted to see if it would improve with the stock kernel before I look into it any further.
Thanks!
Why don't you under clock to 1.0? There are plenty of free apps in the play store that wool slow you to do this.

I purchased SetCPU. I will see if that helps. I wasn't sure what changes have been made from the original kernel to Jokers. Photon 4G development is scarce compared to the HTC EVO line I'm used to. Period of adjustment is all =) Thanks!
