I am wondering if this is some kind of fluke but my battery status shows 1Day 1Hour 39mins since last charge and my battery meter still reads 54%. Light to Moderate use. (Some phone calls, texts, fantasy football app, web browsing)
Normally seems like I get anywhere from 20-24 hours per charge.

You serious bro…. lol….
Normally you get 20-24 hours (which is a day)…
And you are amazed that you just got 25 hours.

Man, I'm guessing you've killed the 3G radio, wifi on, every service on manual update, GPS off, brightness to moleman mode + that usage?
I wish I could pull 1/2 that longevity without heavy sacrifice.

It stays on Wifi whenever I am at home then I switch to 3G when I leave. Brightness is set to Auto. I never turn on GPS, (that's what my Garmin's for) and everything sync's normally. It's weird, some days I'll get this kind of battery life and somedays I'll get a lot less. Even with similar usage from day to day.
I get about two days of use with everything on. (No gps or bluetooth) Facebook sync on, texting, web browsing xda app, and a couple short games. I don't ever have any battery left though..
If I stay home I have closed to 60% left after 18-20 hours of regular usage----a few calls, browsing, games and texts----but I have wifi and an airave

Simple. Take a screen shot of screen on time. Who cares how long your battery lasts, if you don't have alot of screen on time.
I read this trick from somewhere (possibly a myth?)
Charge phone to 100%
Unplug, allow 5% discharge,
Charge back to 100%
Experience supreme battery life.
I'm out 10 hours a day often (**** high school ) and I get about 17 hrs average

When I first got my Evo 3D the battery life was just decent. After about a week, I put it on the charger after 18 hours and it's never below 70%.

I'm not completely sure about this, but here is what I remember reading:
That was only useful on other phones when it would display 100% when really the battery was 90%. Doing this charged it to the maximum battery capacity. The Evo 3D stops at 100% when the battery is actually full so we don't need to do anything.
I think this phone does not register being plugged into the computer as being "plugged in." Therefore it does not reset the meter, and you get readings like this, even though there was some (computer-connected) charging in between.
I just received my Rezound new yesterday, downloaded some apps from the market, and set everything up for normal use today. I got it off the charger this morning around 7:30am at 100% and its dead at 4:30pm. I would consider my use light today as I only used the web for maybe 10 minutes. I mostly did things like add contact shortcuts to my home screens and move icons around, and download maybe 2 new apps.
I came from a Droid 2 which got pretty awesome battery life running Liberty 3 and I'm wondering if my usage time is normal.
Total Time 8h 22m 33s
Display 80% (Time on 2h 45m)
Call Stand 5%
Phone Idle (Time on 5h 37m)
Android System 3%
Dolphin Browser 2%
Android OS 2%
Wi-Fi 2% (Time on 1h 38m)(I don't believe I was connected to any networks though)
Drop box 2%
The screen is what kills it along with LTE. If your screen was on for 2:45 that is why. The display sucks battery on this phone.
Thanks for the reply, I figured that was the case, but I still thought I would have gotten a little longer. I hope a custom ROM will help some with the battery life.
I am on stock rooted and don't really have battery issues. Typically I get 12-14 hours which by then I have easy access to power. If it is going to be a long day, I use the extended battery. It is not uncommon to still have charge left going into late at night.
I have the screen less than a third of the way on the selector and have Auto brightness turned off. Screen timeout is set to 1m but when I set the phone down, I have a widget called ScreenOff that I click to blank the screen. Primary reason for doing that is so I don't accidentally enter some app, but a secondary is that it turns off the screen before it would normally timeout.
When I am at home or at work, I use WiFi almost 100% of the time which due to strong WiFi signals there, (for me) uses less battery power than LTE.
Otherwise, I have LTE on.
Right now today, I am about 50% with 9h 12m of use. I fully charge nightly with the AC charger on my night stand so when I get up it is 100%.
I have an extended battery, but normally use the stock battery unless I know I am going to be away from the office for long periods of time.
I am not much of a game player, but I do watch short videos from time to time. I have streamed music, but don't normally. I get 10-20 calls a day typically and use my browser on a regular basis (reddit as well).
The camera is Awesome!
Unless your display was on max brightness and you were streaming HD movies. That's bad battery life. I get 2 times that even with autobrightness, maybe your battery isn't broken in yet
A good measure is 30minutes display time per 10%, and 1% per hour with 3G and normal sync scheduling... If your apps sync ever 15 minutes that will kill it, and 4G should kill it a little more than just 3G... Minor fluctuations are still OK, but you shouldn't have 15 minutes per 10% unless everything is basically on full blast
My battery life using the setup in my sig is usually very good.
I can easily make it through a normal workday listening to mp3s from my card/texting etc using the standard battery. My screen is set to 30%, screen timeout to 30 seconds.
I do like to stream audio however using iheart radio or Sirius radio online. If I do that, I'm lucky if I make it 4 hours on the standard battery (without ever turning the screen on) When I am going to do that, I use the extended battery and keep a 2nd one in my pocket. I have two external chargers I use so I always have spare fully charged batts.
I actually prefer the feel/weight of the phone with the extended battery and the HTCPedia cutout hard rubber case.. That gives me a better grip on the phone and I barely notice the weight difference when it is in a Jean pocket.
I guess it just depends on the actual phone itself. My phone charges everynight. I pull it off the charger at 6 am and by 10am the battery is dead. I have 3 batterys, and a wall charger that I carry around. I don't consider myself a heavy user either. No music or videos. Only text, gtalk, gmail and a phone phone calls that last a few min each. I only have google and exchage set to push. My 2 yahoo accts sync every 4 hours. I do have fecebook as well. Screen is very dim. This was all using rooted cleanrom.
I am now back to bone stock, with a CLNR phone that just arrived yesterday (due to connection problems with my computer) So maybe a stock rom unrooted will make a difference. Heres hoping!
Sad.....great phone, I love it!

Diff. Roms equal diff results for me. All of the ICS roms I've tried all keep my phone up time and awake time the same. Is anyone else having this issue? Due to this, I typically end up getting around 5 hours of life even if I leave my phone off for the duration of that time. It's annoying because I really want to stay on ICS but get double the battery life out of the GB Roms.

On Scotts CleanRom 3.6, with fairly heavy usage (hour of solitaire, hour of browsing xda, texting, 30 minutes of phone calls) I can get about 10 hours before needing a charge again. Before I updated to 3.6, which has the 3.8v battery fix, I could only get about 5 or 6 hours of similar usage. I don't recall if prior versions had my awake and up times the same, but I haven't noticed it recently.

I just got my Rezound yesterday, and have noticed a surprisingly poor battery life. I did all my setup yesterday, and fully charged the battery over night. After unplugging it this morning, I listened to music off the sd card for about 45 min, browsed the net for about another 45, then stopped using it for a while. I noticed the battery was about halfway through, so I plugged it in to my car charger and did some more Internet stuff. However, after checking the battery info, I realized that even plugged in to the car charger it was consuming more power than it was taking in. I finally had to turn it completely off and let it charge to get the battery from yellow back to green.
This is the same charger I used for my Droid X, so I know that it is working...

I've been running BAMF ICS v0.9 for a few days, and the other versions before that. I get 12-14 hours with 4G on, and 20-23 with 4G off....I keep the screen on 40% brightness
Watch your clock speeds if you are on ICS. They constantly Max out, both cores. That's where your battery life is going.
Sometimes data flickers for me on random days, that's the only thing that wears my battery down fast. But I can still go through the day have 40ish percent left. If it doesn't flicker I can go through through day with about 50% left. And if in on Wi-Fi most of the time I have nore than that left over. And that's with using the phone for a couple of hours with the display on.
Trying ineffabilis with DSBs 1.1.3 kernel and undervolt it some
for me, battery life killers can be streaming audio (sirius xm or espn radio) and definitely jelly wars. Phone will die on extended battery in about 4 hours of continuous play.
Otherwise, normal usage, I get 10-16 hours of use on my extended battery before swapping it out (use 2 extended batteries).
4g definitely runs the phone hotter than wifi (about 20 degrees hotter for me)
The only time my phone gets around 95 degrees is if it's on a charger and I'm watching a movie, and it takes about an hour for it to feel warm, which could even be caused from me holding it the whole time. 4G doesn't get my phone any hotter than 3G Or Wi-Fi. Guess every phone is different though. least we get signal xD

I pull mine off the charger at 7:00 and at 3pm or so it's down to 85%, I'll put it on the charger at work until I leave around 5-6pm (mainly because I'm used to having to do this on my previous phone) and at night if I'm not using it constantly it's around 70-75% when I plug it in at bed time.
I suspect anyone getting that bad of battery life must be using it constantly, ie: Playing games, browsing, trolling facebook, etc.. Even in the "new toy" stage I'm getting great battery life.
FYI I don't have LTE, but do generally have good 4G.
You honestly can't use any phone on GPS without external power and expect that you're not going to discharge quickly. Assuming that you are running a car charger during GPS and just didn't say so, search the i-717 threads, since the topic has been well vetted on what chargers are more effective, etc. There are definite differences.

The fact that there are people out there that get really good battery life means the problem is you and not the phone. If you refresh facebook every minute of course your battery life will be crappy. apps like juicedefender are just marketing crap. as long as there are no running apps in the background that eat your battery, you do not need any juicedefender or tasker. also setting screen-off behavior to conservative on set cpu helps improve battery life.
When I first got my i717 and was using it on the stock rom I had pretty terrible battery life. I take it off the charger at 5:00am and had decent battery life (around 5 to 7 hours without GPS) but I use my phone a lot for internet/email. I think your battery life is completely normal given your usage.

I had GPS running on my phone for 4 hours today, had blue tooth on half the time without knowing it, sending text messages, making two 5 min phone calls, checking maps, checking FML and reading a book for about an hour and drained down to about 70% and I have the brightness set at auto. I would exchange it for a new battery.
On average with several texts per hour, several 5-10 min phone calls, taking a few pics and uploading them to picasa, checking facebook, updating status and checking emails I can pull off the charger at 630am and still have 50% battery (at least) by 630pm.
I do have the juicedefender (which isn't crap, it turns off signal after so long so you aren't trolling for signals when you aren't on the phone).

I had a ss of my buddies yesterday, but can't restore mms lol. There are plenty of other ss in the note section. He was at 22+ hrs with about 4:30 of screen on and some % remaining. I have to charge around 7-9 everynight at 4-4:30 hrs screen on, but my use is pretty heavy. I sync 4 gmail accounts, a separate GV, 3 calendars, and several apps.
If yours is much worse than that, you likely have a few troublesome apps or are playing games. First, after a full charge, reset cpuspy timers, lock it, and set it down for a few hours (I know, impossible). Then check to see that your CPU has been in deep sleep about 95% of the time. If not, use better battery stats to see what has been request wakelocks. Not only the most total time, but the total number. Any app that looks outrageous, freeze it or uninstall it. For system processes that look troublesome, Google. You can often find simple tricks online that will tell you what's causing them to go crazy. Beyond that, turn off syncing of anything that isn't needed or doesn't matter (like Facebook), and uninstall stuff you never use.
Another slight help is the brightness widget (don't use the actual widget, just put the app on your homescreen, it works the same) or dimmer in market as they can both set the brightness to a value of 10 (Samsung lowest stock is 20), and even if you can't tell the difference, it helps. Jkay settings in saurom can set the auto brightness profile slightly darker than stock. Umm, and the obvious, use less Widgets, longer sync intervals, processor scaling and speed profiles, and buy a couple rapid chargers, wall and auto.
A couple things to note after seeing a few of these posts...
BT can be on, but without it searching, connected, or listening it's not active.
GPS isn't active unless its in use aand you see the icon in the notification bar. That being said, fb, websites, and many other apps that request location will activate it.

YOU MUST CALIBERATE THE BATTERY!! I have no issues I use my phone heavy all day and get 15 hours and I still have 20% left. All you have to do is
1) Charge you phone until it says "charged"
2)Leave phone plugged in and power off and let it charge until the battery meter literally says "100" (screen will sleep so you can check with volume rocker to light screen)
3) power on phone and let boot and than power off and wait till you see 100% again
4) now keep doin this and you will notice it will start displaying "100%" faster and faster usually takes 6-7 times cycling like this
5) After you do this download Battery Caliberation (root required) app from market and hit the caliberate button and boom your good to go
I do this on every android phone I own when I flash a new rom or purchase a fresh one. Everyone should do this everytime you flash a new rom and I can CONFIRM significant battery longevity on all my android phones I have done this with
You only have to do it once so just get it out the way and you'll get through a whole dayand have some juice to play with.

Just to be clear here, Tasker has nothing to do with battery life. It doesn't hurt it, nor "help" it. However, you certainly could write tasks/contexts that would decrease battery life, and there are a few scripts out there which do silly stuff like autokilling, etc... But if we're talking "battery savings", Tasker and JD do not go in the same category.
IMO JD is only useful if you're frequently in an area with no signal, like you work in a basement or deep inside of a solidly constructed building. Since you mentioned Tasker, in this context it does help me a bit on battery because my wifi turns off when I leave the house, but that's also something JD can help with. If you don't have a wifi connection it'll turn off wifi (and I believe turn it back on periodically to see if there's one available?) I don't use JD, so can't speak too much for it.

Hour? Hour and a half? I'm working during that period. I usually hit news sites and G+ when I'm first at my desk in the morning, so that's 30 minutes or so off and on looking at it, then perhaps an hour over the rest of the day, sometimes more at lunch.

Hi, guys, I am curious to know roughly how long can your battery last after unplugged from full charged?
Mine normal usage of whole day whatsapp, minor web browsing, and some music listening, Maximum can last 24hrs.
I would like to know whether this is normal for mediapad or there's something wrong with the battery?
Thanks in advance^^
Which model? Mine MP7 Lite also has low battery life. I charge it daily.

For me, with Internet relatet apps & wifi, no games, no vids, active display time up to 4,5hs.
Otherwise its off most of the time instead of standby, which is mostly useless if wifi goes into standby as well, else it will draw mucho power.
For me, normal use lasts in round about 5 to 6 hours.
Navigation with full brightness, WLAN/MobileData on, sometimes switching to webbrowser or to shazam... 16% in 40min - or >4h.
(normally the pad is plugged, while driving
Just to give an idea.
Greets Gunnar
mine can last up to 6 hours of browsing with 25% brightness
Yeah, brightness is the key for saving battery!
If you look into the settings/accu you'll see, that round about 50% goes with the battry.

Really hope some one will develop a battery saving kernel to save our battery by running down so fast :crying:
Awesome first charge.. plugged in Friday when I got it and just now 38 hours later I'm plugging it in. 4.5 hours of screen on at 85 percent brightness.. here and there browsing.. some photos.. gps enabled turn by turn a couple times.. SIRIUSXM for 4 hours at least.. fell asleep both Friday and Saturday night listening to Art Bell.. so at least 4 hours. Outlook checking mail every couple hours. Tested a few games for probably a total of an hour maybe. This is about average use for me. I would say this bests my note2 and that's a lot to say. Will it get better after a few more cycles? This phone is a keeper... loving the knock on/off feature and I'm getting really used to the buttons on the back.
Good stuff man....lower that brightness a little and turn on autobrightness and you'd be getting even better battery life. Doesnt the constant 85% hurt your eyes?
That's awesome. Battery life was a big reason I picked up this phone, and it has yet to disappoint. I'm on Verizon, so probably couldn't get the Nexus 5, but even if I could I'd probably go with the G2 for the battery. I like a nice bright screen as well
I took the attached a couple if days ago. GPS off, mobile location on, 65% brightness baseline with auto on. Mostly web browsing, with about an hour of talk time, and 3 hours of audio playing via Bluetooth. The battery really is fantastic.
However, there is something that can get stuck and prevent deep sleep causing excessive idle drain. Its happened to me twice now. A reboot clears it up, but I haven't tracked down the culprit yet to prevent it entirely.
Anyhoo, pics below.

Ive found 3 culprits for idle drain thus far:
*backup* - disable backup/ restore in global settings
Nlpwakelock - disable wifi/cell gps assist in global settings, and history anf reporting in Maps
CarrierIQ - disable it as per instructed in the carrier IQ thread

pretty insane results.. looks like it only gets better! On my second charge now.. still showing 100 percent after a few hours.. very little use though.

I found it takes a lot to get thought that first one percent. I had the screen on for 45 minutes before I dropped to 99% the other day. I'm starting to think there is something up with the battery gauge.

G2's battery life is very awesome...I got 6 hrs around screen on time for stock rom.
I believe if we get more tweaks, rom in future, it will get even better!

No... You're just using an awesome phone!
Yea the battery seems great when you don't touch the device but try playing a game for a little bit . Candy crush crushes ( ? ) my battery to hell.
