Getting the following text : //voice check after I call sprint. Any idea
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
It seems to be something sprint added to sprint zone.
I am assuming in case you are calling for a technical problem, they can ask if you received it. This must assist them in there trouble shooting process in some way.

I am getting tired of getting restricted calls. I have an app to block em but I wanna know who it is. Does anyone know of a way that reveals restricted call without paying for it?

This would be a question to ask your phone company (I.e. Verizon). The whole point of being able to restrict your caller ID info is to prevent the called party from knowing what the calling number is, so I doubt finding out who called you would be free, if it's even possible in the first place.
At the very least, I doubt you'll find an app that can do it, because your phone isn't receiving the caller ID info in the first place. It's being blocked by Verizon's switches, or something further up the chain.

See Ivorycruncher's post above, he is correct. The number never GETS to your phone, which is how that app would then utilize it's White Page search function of the number. Through at least Verizon's switches, the number is blocked, so again, that will not work.
Answer it.
The other day I called sprint having 4g connection issues and they gave me a ## code to reset phone and make it do hands free activation again I didn't write it down and need it again i would like a list if all the ## codes if anyone has it
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
##72786# will not erase your data (apps, etc.)
##786# will do a factory reset.
You will need your MSL.
Been having 4G issues too. They're claiming nationwide 4G connectivity problems. the code they had me use is ##3282#. From there go into "Data Profile" hit menu and then "Restore". It goes through Hands Free Activation when it boots up.
##72786# was the one I was lookin for thx

Be careful ... we ARE known to get things right.
Of course we get things wrong too, like a phone being "DBR" or "LD".... LOL !
If you need the definition of those 2, shoot me a PM and I will tell ya. PM your phone number while your at it.
J/K ... it takes a lot to be a tech, whether it is a Repair store or on the phone.
It is hard to imagine the staggering numbers of " dumb " people owning smart phones.

Your right Ruff ... it is a shame when a " tech " can't provide an answer to your legitimate questions. It reflects poorly on those of us that go the extra mile for our customers and can provide the correct answers.
You can help us (techs) by providing as much info as you can right at the beginning of the conversation and asking for it to be acknowledged... but if the tech doesn't listen or acknowledge your info ...by all means ask for a supervisor.
Most of all stay calm and collected, we do have an " eject this ***-hole button ".
The techs that answer your call live in a " cube city " while at work, and unfortunately, do no have a chance to work with as may devices as the techs that are in a repair store.
Question ...have you done a Profile and PRL update on your phone ?

Hi, after I rooted my EVO 3D, i cannot make or receive any calls, and if I'm trying to make a call it gives me some kind of error 16, authentication failed.
I tried doing the factory reset, but it doesn't ask me for handset authentication anymore, so I wanted to ask, if there's another way to get authenticated
Stay on the line and talk to sprint.. Tell them you are getting an error 16 and ask them to reset your connection.. They will and you will be back up and running in about 2 minutes.. Or you can just call *2 and be connected to customer service.
In the future, please search first before posting a new thread. There are many topics already posted about this issue and the fix for it.
Ahhh man I thinked you bricked it. Read around see if there is a solution
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Make a call you will get error code 16 and get transferred to sprint, tell them you cant make a call and they will ask you for an alt phone number just say you dont have one... They will tell you ok do blah blah blah, just follow their instructions and your set.
Thank you. It helped
Yup sprint will fix it. I actually didnt have any problems with an error 16 until I went to work. I work in a basement and roam off verizon all day, attempted to make a call and was sent to an automated message stating I was not able to be authenticated. Had to call sprint and go through reprovision to get roaming to work again.
I believe if you go to settings -> System Updates and update profile it will fix this issue as well.
I have this issue now, already called sprint they tried to fix it but no luck, i can receive calls but can't make any, i get the verizon authentication message.

Just make any call, and let it connect to sprint, they will activate your radio and ask a couple ?'s to verrify info, then you shall be good. This happens to a lot of people even to my wife and I.
I can make calls as long as I'm not in roaming

I was at your house? lol
I do go in like 4 diff houses daily, satellite installation tech
I am in a chat with them now, I called and they told me take it to sprint, WTF
I was having this problem to. Calls on Sprint network were fine, but no incoming or outgoing while roaming. I had my wife's phone and it was also roaming, but working fine. I called Sprint and they had me do a battery pull then a profile and prl update. I don't know if they did anything on their side, but it is working again.
same thing happening to me. ill try batt pull and update and when roaming again test it and check back in.
Same thing happened to me, in addition to getting a error code 64 class 2 (Radio Interference Resource Shortage) when I tried to send a text message.
I called Sprint and the rep had me pull my battery while she did some reset. It didn't work. She then transferred me to tech support that remotely reset my phones data. That fixed my problem.
In the past, when I've blocked numbers through Sprint's 'My Device' preferences, the people I block that text me would get a quick text back from a 5 digit number stating that my phone isn't accepting text messages. That was when I was with any sense ROM, especially stock. With CM10.1 it does nothing. I'm assuming this is because it doesn't have the PRL Update, Profile Update, and Sprint Zone. Does anyone know if that is true? If that is true, before I give this a try myself, does anyone know if Sprint Zone is safe to run on an AOSP ROM? I'd assume not but at the same time I would think it would be alright. Or maybe Sprint just doesn't notify users anymore that another user isn't accepting text messages? Any help will be appreciated greatly.
Edit: I flashed MeanBean and that didn't seem to make a difference. Even with the service update immediately after making the changes. I'm at a loss here.

Try Mr. Number ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrnumber.blocker) I find it helpful for unknown numbers as well since users can leave comments about telemarketers and what not.

Use a black listing app from the play store or the feature inside the SMS menu if your ROM supports it

Huh. That's odd. Never had that problem with that. I know that customers can do that through Sprint.com. The problem isn't finding a way to block numbers. The problem is that when I use any block option on Sprint.com that anybody who texts me, who isn't in Sprint, won't receive a message stating that my phone isn't accepting messages. Even though Sprint reps say that all users on any carrier receive that message. But I didn't expect a Sprint rep to know what they're talking about.
For future reference to everyone: read the post before replying. Just an idea.
Thanks for the help.

I using Chomp SMS for my sms app and it has blacklisting built it, just long press on the conversation to blacklist, pretty useful
