Just received the iGrip VENTER Swivel Mount in the mail today. I didn't care for the stock iGrip car dock as only part of it adjusts so I couldn't get the angle I wanted. Simple to remove the dock portion and add it onto the VENTER vent mount, then clip to the car's vent. There's a lockable thumbwheel/dial once you find the right position.

Can anyone recommend any good cases for the compact V.
I ordered a noreve case for the diamond 2. Bit disappointed with the quality of noreve given their price. Also didn't fit properly so i had to bend off the bottom metal clasps.
Anyone know any leather flip cases specially made for the Compact V, or recommend any upmarket pouches ?
thanks
I did a bit of looking around for cases that fit the TD2 (assume the compact v is the same shape), ended up getting a Proporta Aluminium Lined Leather Case from amazon, costing £23.43. This case offers a resonable amount of protection, without adding hudge amounts of bulk.

I also picked up a cheap halfords car vent mount and a usb - charger lead to use while mobile, I find the speaker is loud enough for my car without needing an amplified mount. In order to fix the phone in the case securely when its in the vent mount (phone is only gripped from the sides), Ive run some thin fishing line through the battery cover and around the arms on the case, this locks it all togethr nicely, so phone can stay in its case while chargining in the vent mount.

I doubt very much that Aluminium lined case will fit the Compact V as it does have a slightly different shape to the TD2
Just wondering if someone can confirm the above?
I have this skin. It's more firm rubber than gel (and brilliant if anyone is wondering )
It probably adds 1-1.5mm thickness around the phone, so total extra front to back would be between 2 and 3mm. How tight is the fit on these holders?
Many thanks
You certainly will not be able to use the Brodit mount with any skin. It fits very snugly to the bare phone, which then ensures that it can hold the phone firmly even in landscape mode
Brodit fits perfectly as mentioned above, it doesn't take too long to take the case off though (which is what I used to do before ditching the case altogether).
hi all,
i am currently using the slim booktype pdair leather case which have a belt clip and it fits on my multimedia dock perfectly without removing it. However, the case after 1 month if use is cracking and very flimsy. I am looking for an alternative or might have to repurchase another one.
main criteria is it must connect to the multimedia dock and a belt clip is a bonus.
Anyone tested the piel frama? kinda look thick and may not fit the multimedia dock
Coming again from a low budget. Can anyone recommend a holder for preferably car air vent that you have tried which is solid enough to hold this phone please?
+1
I found an inexpensive gooseneck stand by Aduro at Microcenter for $8: Gooseneck stand
It's designed to hold a small cell phone with a clamp at the end of a swivel ball.
You can remove the clamp easily (it comes detached).
The ball at the end of the gooseneck has a hole partway through that is a bit smaller than 1/4".
You can easily drill it through, which allows you to mount things with a 1/4" screw.
This does not prevent you from using the original clamp later if you prefer.
The gooseneck is very stiff, it takes two hands to bend it.
I've always put 1/4" T-nuts on the back of my Nooks.
On the NST the flange is on the inside, on the G2 it's simply epoxied to the back.
Just by itself it gives you a resting place for your fingers so that the Nook doesn't slip through.
With a little gooseneck leg (salvaged from a mini camera tripod) it makes a nice desk stand.
You can then mount your Nook to the Aduro gooseneck.
Although this gooseneck is stiff, with a Nook at the end of a two foot extension it can get a bit wobbly.
Instead of poking the screen, I use my button box to flip pages.
This uses a tiny microcontroller which spits out commands to the hardware console jack that I installed on my G2, G3.
This accepts a Linux command which tells a daemon to inject a key and turn the page.
When it's cold I can flip the pages with my hands under the covers.
