For some odd reason, my notification bar is now missing. If a wait awhile, it comes back but then it goes away. Any else experiencing this issue or know of a way to fix it?
Battery pull... I had it happen also got a couple force closes...

I haven't need a battery pull yet as a simple restart works in fixing it but I am wondering why it is happening or if there is so other way to fix it without restarting. Until the s-off is complete, I lose root each time I restart.

I'm thinking its something about the same internet feature the phone has.
Maybe a bug where the home screen is getting the same code.
My phone hasn't done it since launch day.
But it tripped me out too.

Hitting menu worked for me. Then pulling it down.

Okay, I'll try that if it ever happens again, though here is hoping it doesn't.

I've been having random reboot issue and wanted to know its any one else is experiencing this?
I'm assuming its app related.

I had mine reboot once for no reason. Also when I have a lot of appear running it reboots. But other than that, I hadn't has any issues.
Sorry, I don't know what would help.

I had it do it once on mine but found their was an app I had that had a memory leak. I removed it and ever since haven't had an issue.
What app or method you to identify that memory leak
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA Premium App
Uninstall apps individually until you don't have the issue. When the issue goes away you have found it.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
This happened to me only after I'd installed a new app. When that happened or it froze up, I just uninstalled the app and that fixed it. If this is happening continuously, you may try a factory reset and start over. If that doesn't fix it, time for a warranty replacement.

Ya I got a couple random reboots, and its kinda annoying, have we found a possible cause for this?
but meh coming from a nexus S im kinda used to it
Well there are different causes for everyone. It most likely is a app you have installed that has a memory leak. So I would simply use the process of elimination on each app until the issue leaves.

I have the same problem. What apps do you have installed? If we have some in common, maybe we could start by ruling those out.

Unfortunately, I don't have that one...
Did anyone else get this today? Got it and still s-on, only thing that I noticed is that the option to go into the phone dial pad directly from the lock screen is gone. Has anyone else noticed what changed?

To get the dialer option back you will have to do a hard reset.

I did the update and my phone sleeps as it is supposed to ... no issues but the missing icon. No way I'm going to hard reset over an icon right now.
Will not work long term. It only fixes it temporarily. Dont worry guys HTC will fix us up.
edit: also green hornet movie will work after the OTA that is the only thing i noticed right off besides the phone icon disappearing.

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with the XDA app recently, on quite a few occasions for the last few days it won't work for a while then just starts working again.
Is there some kind of site maintenance being done that is causing this or is the problem on my end. Running completely stock haven't even rooted yet

I just had an issue last where i couldn't load it from hitting the shortcut icon on my screen. I had to clear data in manage applications and log back in then replace the icon.

Mine the app would open fine but when I tried to go to a forum and it would not load and then the data connection would just give up like it wasn't trying anymore. I had a good connection in adding other data app, so I was just wondering if it was something they were doing like site maintenance or something. Today was the third time since I got this phone, wouldn't load and then later it is fine.

I've had my s3 now for 2 weeks, it's stock accept for being rooted.
Anyhow, I've noticed my phone has been randomly rebooting about once a day or so. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
Thanks

Nope. Just a little over a week and no reboot issue

If it reboots w/o installing any apps, you have a lemon.
If you installed apps, you may have a rogue, rebooting one.
Explanation:
Rebooting usually means the voltage supplied to the cpu/motherboard isn't sufficient. Or you may have an app which misbehaves and reboots the phone.
In any case, this is not a normal behavior.
Anyone know what causes this any way to fix it for good

I thought it was related to root but I've had these hot reboots even before rooting so it's not just root. Most likely an app.
Same problem here

Will take a while to hunt down the app but anybody else have 'LinkedIn' app installed? It just hot rebooted while launching that app from a fresh restart - quickest hot reboot I've ever seen.
It might not be that app but then I went to the Play Store page and there are tons of 1 star reviews because the last update failed on people's phones - more interestingly the most recent comment is from a GS2 user who says latest update reboots his phone.
I've uninstalled it and I doubt I can be that lucky that it's that app and I find it so quickly but crossing my fingers.
Mine rebooted after I opened the Navigation app.
Mine is random, many different apps

Mine happened again. I've now uninstalled BetterBatteryStats. I'm going to start uninstalling stuff that uses root to roll that out. I've had these issues on stock but it happened rarely, lately it's been happening very frequently so something is going on.

I've had the same on mine. I rooted mine day 1, so no idea if it would have done it without root. I've defrosted everything in TB and still no luck.

Well I'm tired of the random hot reboots! Some people say it happened to them before rooting, but I don't believe it happened to me until I rooted and installed CWM touch......so I'm going back to stock to start all over again so I can try to narrow down the issue. I'll report back on my progress as it becomes available.

Happening often to me. The search continues. I've now uninstalled adfree. I'm positive this is an app since I had it occur on stock after two weeks of using the phone and installing crap.

I had the same problem on my previous Captivate and am having it now on the GS III; no rhyme or reason to the reboots that I can see.
I still have heat problem but I played w/ different settings to see what it is.... I had att s3 which got really really hot... So returned it for Verizon s3. Verizon is better but learned that the data (lte/s3) makes it really hot and battery drain. Also the screen, of course.
If you're rooted then go get Phone info and disable lte. I tried CDMA auto for Verizon and it got much better... But at lowered download speed. I change it when I speed the speed... Doesn't require reboot so it's easy to change.
U can also under clock using setCPU.
I don't need it to be fast normally except when playing games... So just have it at 384min and 1024max... I find this helps allot w/ heat as well... U can try and find your setting that's acceptable speed and heat.
Just sharing my experience here.... So good luck.

Happens here too with the T-Mobile GS3. I think they rushed their fabrication process to deliver a high volume and fubared a few hardwarewise. I've even had it lockup/freeze once when not even in the OS but just in the recovery menu's. But yeah, the usual is a totally random unpredictable hot reboot throwing out my resident programs, homescreen, ect. Starts with the screen being frozen and not accepting input, then a short vibration, then back to homescreen reloading and all regular apps and widges that are supposed to run at boot load again. It's as if there's a micro static short or something. Anyway, I'm sick of problem solving and looking through logcats. Going back in for warranty. This is a dream phone except for this ultra annoying bug that it seems not many people have.

Happened to me once or twice (that I noticed) in the two weeks before I rooted (stock UCALEM), and a few more times after. It's just TouchPiz being pizzy. Maybe someone can catch the logcat, but there's nothing we can do about it (except install a better ROM )
How would anyone be able to diagnose this BS
"OK. My phone is hot. And it randomly reboots".
"Crap - u r out of luck buddy. Go change ur damn phone".
Provide ur phone model, ROM version, apps installed. Check ur battery stats.
As a solution - flash any custom ROM which removes bloatware.
