Transmitting music via fm - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I remember reading a while back that the atrix is capable of transmitting via fm. If true can this be worked on? The transmitter is supposedly in active, don't know why.

No, you're not. This, and the hardware keyboard, are the only things I miss about my old N900. I don't think the Atrix has the radio, though. I'd love to be wrong, and would happily set about turning it on if it is present. Where did you hear that the atrix had a transmitter? A cursory google turned up nothing definitive...

I read about it here actually, after work I'll dig around and find it.

Yep i hear it to that the atrix has the option on the chip to do recive and transmit fm but it was disable, and i hear it here too.
and i love that to work.

Stereo Bluetooth during flight-mode?

Hi guys, just wondering- I'm due to go on a long flight next week and was wondering is there a way to use stereo Bluetooth while on flight-mode?
I can't seem to find anyway to re-enable Bluetooth while on flight mode.
An alternative would be to turn off the mobile network some how without going into flight-mode? Is there a way.

I'm searching for a possibility to do that too! Didn't find anything yet..
In 2.1 you don't need a im to work a phone... Maybe that helps.... Sorry I can't test nutton... Im in the hospital as we speak....

Of course you can... I do it everyday at my gym. Just using SwitchPro Widgets and enabling "Turn off signal only" in Airplane Mode. Works great.
Well, you are by international laws not allowed to use any type of radio transmitter in an airplane since it can interfere with critical instruments in the aircraft. So please, obey the laws for the safety of you and your fellow travelers and get a wired headset, you'll conserve your battery as a bonus aswell!

Well Bluetooth isn't radio as such, but a short reply to you, I don't care is there a way to do it?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
So when you crash and burn due to cockpit instrument failure (well change in accuracy) we won't care either - well just for the others.
Turn the thing off when in the air. It DOES matter and it DOES affect flight instruments.

Who's a muppet and who's not is up for debate. I haven't crashed and burned so far when I've travelled and used my bluetooth, find out facts before falling into the propaganda trap. I hope you end up on a plane with me
Now I opened this thread with a specific question, anyone who can answer the QUESTION?

Bluetooth stereo headphones.

Hi everyone, I'm just curious does anyone else have problems connecting Bluetooth headphones or a Bluetooth earpiece to there photon. And when I mean connecting I mean making the connection and using it for a long period of time. I can pair and sync but after listening to music for like 15 minutes the audio stops transmitting to the headset but the song shows its still playing. And yes the phone still says the Bluetooth link is still their. Any ideas?

Delete my comment. I have the Epic touch and wife has the Photon. I use the moto rokrs with my touch, that wasn't relevant since this is the Photon section. So a big "no ****, Sherlock" to your this is posted in the right section.

Back on track...............Yes I do, BUT only when listening to Pandora. If I get a call and/or message, it sometimes goes out for no reason. I have to cut it off on the headset then back on. Again this is sometimes. Other than that, works fine!

I doubt you have a bad Photon (just my opinion) as we both have the same issue. If I am doing ANYTHING else, like listening to music from my card or stock internet radio, even YouTube, works great. Pandora is like playing the lottery with the headset. And its a Motorola Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.

Thanks, nice to know I'm not alone, sprint as usual told me we have to factory reset over the phone and they Guy didn't want to wait with me while I tested the headset. He actually hung up on me. Well anyway I tested using a Motorola h500 earpiece and also my turtle beach px5 headset, and I also tested using my wife's jabra headset and they all failed. But they work on my buddy's evo flawlessly

[Q] Is any one working on enable FM?

Wha't should we do, if we wan't to enable FM? A new kernal?
If FM is enable, the atrix will be perfect!
Who is working on it?
Nothing, no one, it's not possible.
Maybe we can check if the hardware supports it, to start, then, find which is the hardware, and then work on it, has been done to cliq and cliqxt on cm7

We have a Broadcom BCM4329 chip that is supposed to support FM receiving and transmitting.
There is a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966108&highlight=bluetooth+radio that covers your question.
It looks kinda dead though
I will see with the morrison, zeppelin, and jordan developers from to see if something can be done

I read somewhere that although we have the chip, the points for radio are not soldered onto the board or smt. Will update with link if I find the post

Wait for good news~
The chip supports FM, but there is no antenna. FM will never be brought to the Atrix.

You don't really need the antenna pin soldered to an antenna on this chip for low power send and receive. The problem is that the pins to send and receive signal are not connected and integrated into the board.

I would be all over this if it improves the audio output quality of the i777. I'm skeptical, and btw I would never buy beats headphones.

Because its just an EQ that changes some settings. It may or may not make any difference, but it may be slightly better for some people.

I will never own a Beats product, I'll stick to my Technica for the time being.

just my .02 here, this could help with the EQ settings and such but part of the perk with beats audio is some really awesome headphones. be like that 10k Mordaunt-Short setup will sure sound alot better then my 300$ home theatre in a box from phillips.
Supercurio ran some audio tests and confirmed there is no benefit to this. So Sad. I miss my voodoo sound.

[Q] Motorola Photon 4G volume issues

Ok, so my mom has a Photon and the volume (ringtones and notifications mostly) wont work when shes had it on silent for more then 30 minutes. Ive tried everything I can think of to fix the issue and nothing has changed. Oh yea and she is on her 3rd one and they have all had the same problem. If anyone has any thoughts Id love t hear them!
Thanks.

Does the sound come back once you've rebooted the phone? I mean, taking it out of silent should be enough to unsilence it

You would think that unsilencing it would be enough but for whatever reason in this case its not but yes the phone has to be rebooted every time in order or the volume to work again but sometimes that doesnt even work.
Odd... the only thing I can think of would be to restore it back to a stock SBF, but that might not do much since you've had the issue with 4 other phones. You shouldn't hurt it though
