Sorry if this question already being asked, but I seems can't found any answer.
I recent checked SamFirmware.com page, the new version of HK ROM has released on TOP of 4 June 2011. Only few days difference.
Does anyone know what has been added, what bug has been fixed ?
Thanks
James

Hi,
I have a simple question I haven´t been able to get a clear answer for. Can someone clarify the difference between the version? For example out of the following 3 which is newer?
XXLPS
XWLP4
XWLP7
I was under the impression that the last digit went from 1-9 and then a-z but I´d like to be sure if it´s like this or letters first and then numbers.
Thanks in advance.

Samsung decided to make their version coding more confusing for ICS, but I'll see if I can help you out.
This list is in release date order from oldest to newest, build date and release date don't always follow the same order.

XWLP4 - March 26, 2012
BULPC - April 2, 2012

Thanks for that. Is there anywhere I can get an explanition of the coding? Right now I´m using XXLPS and looking for an update so I´m going to give XWLP7 a try but I´d like to understand a bit better how it goes for future updates.

What it USED to be, the first two letters were country/carrier codes, and the last three letters/numbers indicate year, month, and build.
So for example, XXKI3 (an old version), XX indicates a region of Europe, and K = 2011 (K is the 11th letter), I = September (9th letter), and 7 is the build number.
See here - it's in the Galaxy Note section, but Samsung uses the same codes for most of their mobile device products.
However, as you can see, the current ICS codes don't follow this convention. So who knows how they are coding them now.

The 4.1.2 is official but it says test build. I flashed it anyway and its amazing! I also got root on the 4.1.2 as well. You can find more help on 4.1.2 from this thread
I currently have the following on the Belgian version (D6503_23.5.A.1.291_1281-8375_R4D.ftf).
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-gc14c2d5 from Tue June 28 11:11:51 2016
Baseband: 8974-AAAAANPZQ-00061-61
I'm worried I might have done something wrong(due other baseband version found for Verizon) or if these are the right ones.
