I'm having an issue with my internet connection. I have a Galaxy S3 (SGH-I747) running Slimbean custom rom (Android 4.3). It's an AT&T phone which I unlocked. I am in Egypt right now on the Etisalat network.
I am only getting EDGE connectivity right now. I tried talking to technical support but all my settings seem to be in order. I checked all my settings multiple times (APN, Mobile data, etc) and everything should be ok. My sister has the same phone with the same software and phone line and she is getting 3g speeds. I tried switching our SIM cards to see if the problem is with my SIM card. Her phone was still showing 3g speeds and mine was only getting EDGE.
Does anyone have experience with this or advice for solutions? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I bought the Samsung galaxy s duos2 GT-S7582, last week (sw 4.2.2). I wanted to associate my private and company sim cards into one device.
On the first sight it works properly. Until I lost signal from my provider. Both sims I used, are from the same mobile provider. At home it works properly, but in work where is a bit week signal I have a problem to reconnect, after I lost the signal. It seems to me that it doesn't reconnect automatically after I come to area where the signal is for sure, I can not even find any provider manually. I can not do and receive calls on both sims after that of course. Only think what will help is to restart the phone. After that it works properly again, until I lost signal on one of the card again.
I tried to replace the sim cards between them - doesn't help, replace one of the sim with my wife's one - same problem. I did several different settings regarding the connection, but nothing helps. I believe that this would be more-less sw problem, not the hw.
Did anybody face the similar problem? Have you any advices how to solve this issue?

I am using swipe elite plus for last 3 months. From last week Mobile network in swipe elite plus is fractuating a lot. I am not getting any signal on swipe elite plus but at the same position i am getting full network on a different mobile. Is this a problem of Stock ROM?? or mobile hardware?? If i change the stock rom with custom rom is it possible the problem will be solved??

You did not mention whether network fluctuation is occuring on 2g/3g/4g network.
You should try comparing network strength with a different mobile on same network i.e either on 2g/3g/4g.
If you don't get any network i.e 2g/3g/4g on your phone then you should do a factory data reset.
If that doesnt work and your phone is still under warranty, then take it to the manufacturer's service centre.
If your phone is out of warranty, then you should try flashing stock rom.

I have swipe elite plus and sim 1 slot might not work properly as any sim in sim 1 slot have no signal but the sim is detected. And that same sim shows full network in sim slot 2. I have already done a factory data reset and nothing happened. please tell me what I have to do now.

Last month I purchased elite sense and I also upgrade my Airtel sim on 4g but the issue is when I'm on 2g/3g/4g network then after some use on this network will show no service then I reset the mobile again same problem face now I m fix on 3g network the problem still stop but I can't use my 4g data.
And when I set the network on only 4g then I used 4g data but the issue is anyone can call me same time then the network says busy no one can call me on 4g network when I'm on. Please share a solution

I am hoping somebody can guide me in regards to an issue I am facing.
I was working on my car a few days back and left the Elephone S8 on the car seat not realizing that it was being hit directly by the sun. After I was done, I picked up the phone and it was very very hot. I then went inside and let the phone cool off.
Since the above, I notice that I struggle to pick up reception. I have tried different firmware, replaced sim cards, everything. It seems to only be affecting certain MHZ bands as 4G LTE work, 3G works fine, and 2G works find but not always.
I have a feeling the 2G is having issues but maybe only certain bands. I do not think it is software related but have no idea where to even start on the hardware side. I first want to try scan for towers and see which bands they use and try see which one could be giving the issue. I don't expect it to just be a lose connector as the phone has not been dropped and I have only been using it for 2 weeks. If I do send it back under warranty for repairs, they will never pick up this issue.
Elephone S8 loss of network issue

I think is a hardware issue as the same thing happened to me after 3 weeks perfect use.
I think has nothing to do with the sun as for me happened on a snowy Sunday 10th of December in London.
I suddenly noticed that when sending email the sending would start fast and after a 2-3 seconds the network will drop to 3G and stay like that for long time until the mail app stops sending process and the phone goes back to LTE 4G.
Also when dialling a number the phone will drop from 4G to 3G and than loose the connection straight away.
When indoors the phone would have trouble registering to network for ages without success.
I picked up 4 different pay as you go cards to make shure that is not my network but still no success.
All documented in the support ticket to GB and yesterday have send it back for a refund.
I really like the phone but i am reluctant to buy another if the issue persist so will wait and see.
Hope some more comments will follow to highlight the problem and influence a solution to this.

I have the same issue - my wireless connection inside my home keeps dropping and connecting off and on again and again - I have two routers and maybe as I move from room to room it tries to connect to the closest router or something like that - not sure if there is a way to fix it without doing something in the routers.

Same problem here
My network problems are a little different. I don't have problems connecting to different wifi networks (home and work) but the phone does not activate mobile data when leaving a wifi network. I always have to restart the phone when I want to use mobile data (3G).
Kind of the same problem. Have my S8 for about a month. First it has a wifi network. When I leave the place where it is connected to wifi, it goes to 4G. But when I come back to a place with WIFI, the phone does not find any WIFI network. I have to reboot the phone. Soft reboot(a little faster) will also do/work.
Are you guys on the stock ROM?

I have the same problems with stock rom and eragon rom. I don't have a solution but I'm still hoping for a new update.
For now I found out that turning flight mode on and off again helps to switch between wifi and mobile data, so it is not necessary to reboot the phone every time.
I can confirm as well that Eragon won't resolve 3G / 4G network issues.

No wifi problems but after one day of usage I couldn't use mobile data anymore I almost re-flashed my phone (unlocked bootloader, rooted and using Xposed). Turned out my provider f*cked things up. Probably because Elephone is a not known brand here. It took me some time to convince the agent on the phone that I do not own a Samsung S8 lol.
Problem was solved at the providers end.

This information sounds interesting. How did you manage to 'convince' the providers agent that it is not Samsung? And what did you tell it instead?
Steve the issue you have is different. Your issue won't be resolved that way.
You would need an app that switches to 3G/4G if WiFi is not connected.
Happy too soon. After one day with mobile data it's gone again. There's a cross in the lower right corner of the mobile data icon in the status bar. I'll be calling my provider again tomorrow morning.

I'm not sure if the fact that I own a brand that is unknown here causes the mobile data problems. The problems I'm running into atm are
- mobile data problems, 4G is connected, but no internet
- fingerprint scanner doesn't work with my banking app
- backlight bleed in the middle of my screen
- after 3 out of 4 calls, phone freezes for about 30 seconds
- rattle in fingerprint scanner
I guess I'm about to find out how good the return policy at Banggood is ?
I highly recommend that you return the phone now.
There are so many issues with the phone that it's just not worth the time.

Does your sim card work in another phone? If so, are the apn settings the same?
I managed to resolve the issue.
I'm trying to figure what went wrong at start. When I got a phone I inserted both SIM cards like this:
SIM 1 - my business phone number - provider 1
SIM 2 - my personal phone number - provider 2
I wanted to use data only on my personal phone number, so I disabled data on business number. What happened is my business SIM downloaded APN info on first boot (i assume), and then my personal SIM used this APN (which was incorrect).
To resolve issue I first inserted my personal SIM to slot 1 alone and booted. Then I changed APN profile to match my old phone's, turned off phone and inserted my business SIM to slot 2 and booted.
Now data works fine. Obviously there was APN issue but how come that phone didn't get correct APN settings per SIM?

Hello I am from Argentina. I recently changed the rom of my alcatel pop 2 (5042a) for a custom rom based on miui 9 (it is in beta). The problem is that I recently changed the telephone company and the company is from another country, so I must enable data roaming and configure an apn for the internet to work for me.
Internet works well, captures 3g and 4g signals perfectly, the dilemma is that every two times I lose connection and I appear in the signal bar that I have no service. I already contacted the company and they told me that there is no problem with them, but I do not know why I lose connection with the network when using the mobile data.
I tried to go back to the stock of this device and it happened to me exactly the same, I tried the chip in another cell phone but the problem was not there. I also try to put the chip of other companies in my cell phone and it works well. The problem seems to be with my cell phone and the new telephone company (Tuenti). Can someone give me a hand?
